Hello Lisa. Been to this place a couple of times to help my Russian friends decide on which car to buy... It was really cool when they found out I am from Texas and gave me and my friends the royal treatment and to show me around and provided us tea and chocolate 😊... Also I highly recommend doing a road trip across Russia. In the summer of 2021, I rode my Harley across Russia starting from Vladivostok I rode to Sochi, across the Kerch bridge into Crimea which is an adventure in itself. Rode back across the bridge and then along the border north to Moscow.. My Russian friends said I was crazy because I don't speak Russian and I made the bike trip alone.. Had no problems at all not even with the road police.. People I met along the way were shocked but yet ecstatic to find out I'm from Texas and living in Vladivostok. Even received a couple of marriage proposals when they found out that I am not married 😂

I absolutely 💯 agree and confirm about the wonderful Russian people. I have worked and lived around the world. Met many friendly people and cultures, But none of them has come close to Russians, who I believe are the most welcoming, friendly and helpful people in the world. And I am not saying this because I am currently living in Russia. I highly encourage people to come visit Russia and see for themselves how amazing the country and people are here... I have been visiting Vladivostok for over 20 years and fell in love with the city, the beauty of the far east and the people. I had decided when I retired I would move to Vladivostok and have not regretted it for the almost 5 years I have been living here.. I volunteer at an English school just to keep busy after my retirement and meet the most amazing people and made even more amazing friends.... You know there are not many expats from the west in this small city. I think there are only about 6 of us here. Might be an interesting story to tell about why we came here to live. I'm probably sure you know one of them that happens to own a coffee shop in the city center.

Russians are really resourceful people. They know how to get the most for their money and work around regulations. I think Russia is very well placed to become an economic growth engine. Much better placed than most western countries. Some nightlife would be good for future videos. How do people in Vladivostok like to have their own kind of fun?

Thank you Lisa. Your Vladivostok looks similar to some of out Northeast cities in America. I also see that you are wearing a jacket in July. Must be a little cold there. Over here in Florida we are dealing with temperatures close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Cars here especially the used ones are very expensive also. Our economy is not doing very good. Sanctions don't work. Iran, Cuba have been under sanctions way longer than Russia and I personally know you can buy almost anything there, from an iPhone (jail breaked) to a Mercedes-Benz. This is how it works: Country A puts sanctions on Country B. Country B buys through Country C (through Middle Men). Country A sanctions/threatens Country C. Country B and Country C now buy through Country D....you get the point. There is ALWAYS someone willing to make some good money. This game continues until either Country A has sanctioned EVERYONE (therefore isolating itself and reverse-sanctioning itself!) or the sanctions are lifted off. It's a game were nobody wins. Only the middle men who make a quick buck win, but the populations of ALL countries lose!

Lisa, that was a great video. I like the fact that a person buying a car saves money and the importer/seller makes a lot of money. It's a win win situation for everyone. The other day I read that there is a new version of the 'Volga' car available that is similar to a vehicle manufactured by Chang'an Automobile Co., Ltd. Currently. the Russian economy is growing due to the export of oil to China and India. Also, electronic products manufactured in China are available in Russian shops at very competitive prices! So Lisa, have you purchased any Chinese gadgets? 💻📱📻 🎮 When I was in Hong Kong, I loved going to Apliu Street in Sham Shui Po because there were so many electronic products available! Such an amazing experience!

Hi Vasilisa. Very interesting new video today. It shows how meaningless sanctions are. British sanctions against Russia seem to do more harm to Britain where we have massive price increases ( stupid brexit hasn't helped either ). It is amazing determination that people will drive a car all that way back to Moscow. Google maps says that is 120 hours of driving!

We treasure and restore Ladas and Nivas! Like the Citroen 2CV, you can cross from UK all the way to Argentina and find friends along the way! One day at a time is easy. Luxury cars are only appreciated if they are the latest model, because they don't age well and electronic parts are not easy to replace, even losing your keys is a problem, So it is best to buy new, then sell and add a bit for the latest one every two years.

The Korean and Japanese car companies know a business bonanza when they see it. They will not kill their enterprises like the western ones did. My parents have become Korean car 🚗 devotees, just like your parents are to Japanese ones. Having worked in the motor industry in the 1990's in the repair side, one of my main concern's is obtaining car parts. See as I know Vladivostok is major hub for importing cars from the far east, what is the Russian brands, Lada and Moskva are doing to fill the void for the other side of Russia? That is a top question that should be answered by them.

So many used JDM cars in far east Russia, for me this is something usual weird thing where RHD cars on right handed traffic 🥴 and on contrary normal LHD cars became minority in far east Russia. I think it feels like driving LHD cars in Indonesia where the traffic on the left side 😖 Also I said Vladivostok similar like Batam city in Indonesia where they were allowed to imported used cars from Singapore or Malaysia during 2000s era without import duties but these cars not allowed to left Batam city and also they got special license plates letter to identify, however today whole Indonesian provinces no longer allowed to imports used cars anymore. So right now we only allowed to imports brand new car or unregistered cars from their origin places.
