All Of Society Went Blind, So This Happened.. 

Wouldn't it be funny after all that misery, the one-eye guy discovers that the eye behind the eye patch is good all that time. They should show that joke after the movie credit. After putting the audience through 2 hour of grim, that dark humor is needed to counter the mood.

out of all the senses, going blind is probably the most scary thing.

You should read the original book "Blindness" ("Ensaio sobre a Cegueira") from José Saramago. It's a most read and much more brutal and real than the movie.

Well thats a first for me. I suggested this movie maybe less then a week ago. The kind of movie i dont want to watch again because its so dark but its a really good movie. So thx for letting me experience it again. I watch many movieshortens so i may have commented it on an other channel and this is a coincidence but i apreciate it none the less. Also noticed i havent subcribed jet so lets change that shall we. Thx again and have a good one.

How did I not hear about this movie? They had a few big names in it. There's another story about the whole world going blind called The Day of the Triffids

Regardless of the happy ending, this movie still made me lose my faith in humanity. If the blindness had been a test from higher celestial beings to test whether humanity is worthy of ascending to higher existence, 10/10 humanity will always fail when the result is compared with entire of the human race. There are simply just not enough good people on this world. Not enough to offset the bad.

i think this movie tells a story, specifically how people change depending on who they hang around with, ec, they hang around the blind person they go blind, they hang around a seeing person they see. it also expresses how corrupt the system is by showing that.

Blind people:I "see" this is an absolute win

My friend had this joke, about having eye cancer, and now that he looked at you you will also have it. I did not think a movie would be made that is basically the same thing.

The movie was shot in São Paulo - Brazil, where most of the actors are. In the books the story happens in Brazil too.

You know a movie id like to see reviewed? As as an older teen rewatching it wasn't as hard to watch but as a young child it had me bawling my eyes out into my own fathers arms. It was called The Road. Truly a movie I think everyone should see once. 20 and I still think of that movie often

the Ensaios sobre a Cegueira (original book) has a "pair" of sorts, called "Ensaios sobre a Lucidez" i highly recommend to read both of them! it's really interesting story

The book that this is based off of, the author is known for making stories in which their highly sexualized. But also very good reads. There was one where the Grim Reaper was a female and she fell in love with a man and because she didn't want to see him die no one else died anymore.

OMG 😳 This movie is an adaptation of a book by tha author *Jose Saramago* called Ensayo sobre la ceguera 1995 (essay about blindness) . This "novel" is a muck to the society we live in, the original book has no ponctuation marks Or chapters as well as no character have names. This makes it even better, no wonder it won two awards for best book of the year.

For anyone who's curious, this movie is a film adaptation of a novel called "Ensaio sobre a Cegueira" by Nobel-Prized José Saramago. I've read the book (version in Spanish) and it's actually pretty good... BUT, Saramago writes using his own punctuation style, which some might find tiring or distracting (I do). I liked the book and the story a lot, it makes you think so much... But I don't fuck with his writing style lmao.

The original writer of this José Saramago winner of nobel prize in literature died 2 years after the movie was released but he sais he felt so happy for watching the movie that reminded him of the feeling of when he finished writing the book

I think this movie did a good job on bringing Saramago to the screen. Due to his unique style of writing his books aren't easy to read.

I remember I saw this film for the first time when I was about 18 and I was surprised by how dark of a turn it took there in the middle just for it to have such a positive resolution with no explanation. Like I appreciate the section within the facility and how it gets completely out of hand and also demonstrates what I believe is a pretty realistic depiction of what would happen under those circumstances (in terms of resorting to sexual labor as the first, last, and most base common denominator of currency when formal economy cannot exist, or no longer exists in the same form (like paper money in a post-apocalyptic scenario-it would no longer have any value beyond being pieces of paper and fiber. Essentially meaningless.) I just don’t know if they felt they had to have the ending be on such a randomly high note to compensate for how dark the middle of the film gets. It could have ended with people finding a new way to exist in this completely different world, but that would require a lot of thinking. Easier to just have things inexplicably go back. SMH.

I think it was supposed to be some kind of infection that hasn't been seen before sort of trope. Since the first man struck by the blindness is the first to recover site as his body has had the longest to fight it off, and so on.

I get the Just of the whole movie and I get how scary losing your seeing can be and every one around you going through the same shock can make it worse but the fact that COFFEE is the cure for it is stupid.
