Calamigos Ranch has water from irrigation faucet. They also have an outdoor bar that sells sodas and more. Not sure if bar is open during Covid though so call ahead.
Base of Fernwood at fire station has water. Should be able to get enough water to get to civilization. Every city park has water, so you can also map out park locations.
it would be great if Strava, or wahoo, or Garmin integrated these water spots in to their maps like a.segment. So you would know when you could grab water.
Thanks for the tips. I knew a few of those but not all of them. I am surprised that you only got passed by the Corvette club I seem to get the Porsche club too. At least you can hear them coming up from the bottom of the canyon and get over. I believe Las Flores is Spanish for Steep hill.
Seeing all those Corvettes reminded me of Phil’s description of Boulder, Colorado and I paraphrase..., “...inexplicably wealthy 20something year olds driving Lamborghinis.” Made me chuckle.
There are motor sports clubs of all types going through the hills. I have seen porsche, lamborghini, ferrari, mini, bmw, honda racing mods, restored classics, etc.
You are the ruler of the rodeo, Phil, thanks for showing us the roads of the Southland. And it'd be cool if you put together a guide of your favorite routes, with maybe a cookie and completion certificate for riders who get around to catching some rays and riding your roads.
Been using jaybird since X2's. No one believes me when I say they are literally the best wireless choice. The vista's are incredible. I recommend searching for and using the audiophile 4k sound profile.
stunt water saved me HUGE one day, I didn't know it was there I was parched. I might have not made it back to the car at Pepperdine U. I've wanted to leave some Cash at the Stunt place, if they had a "tip jar"
never tried an earbud, never gonna. I have to hear everything I can on the road and i'm certain it has saved my life at least once. When I was a full time rider, I could tell how many inches a car would pass off my left
you should do Cheyenne Canyon in Colorado Springs in Colorado. and the best way to get the Everesting record would be to get a good circular course with rolling hills and no stops.
Phil - you're such a decent awesome guy. Currently reading "Draft Animals". Man, I'd love to ride together some time. Except you'll drop me like a hot potato... haha.
Hi phil California looks such a great place to ride a bike and great weather too, much better than the UK i think. I noticed the black/blue handlebar tape on your bike. Would like to ask if you know, who makes it? Thanks.
just bought a tera pro because of phil, sorry needed the full 14h batt life or i would of got the vistas. amazon $190 cad after tax. I uber eats on a non electric bike all day everyday and I make enough. Plus now I can pull 600 watts for a minute like it's nothin gang gang
Nice drink&drive Video. Exactly the stuff which should be available for Taxc smart training using the good conditions in Cali when it's super cold in the EU Off-Season. No good idea?
Hey Phil - Enjoying the videos. What camera are you currently using for your Vlogs? Great sound quality for what looks like such a compact camera! Love from an Irish man in London
I love those buds! Battery life is pretty ridiculous and sound quality is really great. I’ve been wearing the Vista’s for running and while working. It’s nice to just put one in to hear out the other. Battery life with the case is GREAT!
Didn’t notice any roads going up Everest 🤔. Why not set a mark for Authentic Everesting: propose same rules as current, but track cannot be designated for use by four wheeled vehicles or have materials on it other than those from the immediate area (within 50m - say - so no tarmac or imported gravel). What do you think? No traffic issues 😂
Hey Phil, I know this is a long shot, but you're sponsored by Speedplay so I figure it's worth a shot, since I haven't been able to get a direct answer from them. Are they planning to keep making their Syzr pedals? Seems like since they got taken over by Wahoo stocks of that pedal have dried up. The rumor mill says they're discontinuing that pedal, but I sure hope not. The Syzr is my favorite pedal but I'm down to my last pair. Thanks.
Not that I know of on Deer Creek or Cotharin, but during normal times Neptune's Net (restaurant at PCH & Yerba Buena) has coolers with water inside; currently, under Covid times, the only option there is to purchase bottled water. I believe there is also water at the Leo Carrillo campground (PCH at Mulholland Hwy).
@@mattkavanaugh5623 im back at 95 PSI way betrer dont see any pros or grand tour riders running 75 psi....would you lower your car tire pressures also??? thaks for your response also sir...95 psi my PR's 2 min faster and way better at grip and rolling resistance i dont care about comfort its a race bike if i wanted comfort go by a commuter than or cruiser
Car clubs drive all over the canyons, especially on the weekends. So you see “parades” (large groups) of the same cars (Corvettes, Ferrari’s, Porsches, McLarens, etc.) driving together.
