Fun Fact: There's a Palette Glitch in Sonic 2 that turns Sonic green and black. [The fandom calls it Ashura the Hedgehog for some reason] If you pause quickly while transforming into Super Ashura, he looks like Shadow the Hedgehog. Maybe this was based on that since Wechnia is also based on a palette glitch.

That and I think this version of chaotix is still tails but shadow is his default form while his beast form is based on his early prototype design that the fandom grew to love and make canon in FNF
