So i'm planning a house renovation (in the next 18/24 months and as part of that will be adding a custom aquarium. Will be 126.5 x 126.5 x 65cm... so around a 1000l in total with an overflow in the middle of the tank, providing me with 360 degree viewing. Will be following this with great interest, lighting and flow is something i think a great deal about (closed loop etc). Currently considering the Phillips and the Stratons had not considered the AI blades so will be keen to see how they work out.

Following this , always love a good build and planning is critical to the progress

I'm very excited to watch the progress on the build. I have a 6ft.x 2ft. marineland tank and stand and i've put 10 of thousands of dollars in equipment into my build, But I've always regretted not getting a better tank and stand. someday i might upgrade but i don't know if it would be worth the trouble, money and risk of changing it out. I love your channel and all your tank's . I've been watching and learning from you for well over a year now , maybe even 2 yrs. I can't wait to see this one get wet.

Thank you, it means a lot. This is certainly the most intimidating project I've ever embarked on

I use two Grows, even on my smaller aquarium , they are supported on the aquarium rim not suspended and show signs of a little sagging in the middle, might be worth checking that out because of the lengths you will be using!!! They are a fantastic piece of kit with a very simple App. Good luck with your project.

Thank you. How long is your tank? I believe they will only sag on anything bigger than 4 feet.

Love the gear selection. I’ve had mp10’s for 10+ yrs and mp40 for 3+ yrs with no issues. Haven’t used blades but have xr15 G5 pros that have been the best lights I’ve ever used. Using cor20 for my pump, again never had a problem. I’m actually curious about what heaters you’ll be using? Titanium, jagers, or something else? Following with your dream reef!

I love G5 Radions, great spectrum. For heaters I've just placed an order for jagers, I've used them all my life and while titanium is all the rage, I never really felt the need to switch.

Can't wait to see how this turns out. I really wanted to try the blades but I thought they only come to a max of 66"? I have an 83" tank how will you make that work? I opted with 4 radions and 2 360x blues.
@TreasureCorals
@TreasureCorals 7 месяцев назад
You are right! For some reason I thought they were six feet long, but they are only 5.5' , I think that should still work just fine - I will be keeping lower light corals on both sides of the tank and it will give me an ability to really crank up the intensity in the middle. Time will tell

Add some kessil also in the lighting to get some shimmering efekt

I like Kessil a lot, I don't think I miss the shimmer though.

Fantastic video, excited to watch the journey of this reef. 👍 Why did you choose a Waterbox tank?
@TreasureCorals
@TreasureCorals 7 месяцев назад
Thanks! Many reasons including my 5 year experience with them, used them on two systems before and wanted to try their REEF LX series for a very long time.

So excited to follow this experience as I want to purchase the same tank when it's available again in Canada! My choice of equipment is very similar except for the mp60 (I love the Nero's) and doing a duo with radions + blades. What will your skimmer be?
@TreasureCorals
@TreasureCorals 7 месяцев назад
Thanks! Love my Neros and can certainly see them in the tank in the future. Skimmer is yet to be determined, but probably would put my old Quantum 220 on it for now.

I use 2 x Grow and 1 x Glow but they are 66in. You said 6ft for your 7ft tank but they will be 5 and half ft Will be very interested in your light settings
@TreasureCorals
@TreasureCorals 7 месяцев назад
Thanks Andy, you are right. I always thought they are 6 feet, but they are 5.5. Should still work just fine on this tank I think and will give me more flexibility with coral selection.

@@TreasureCorals Hi Dimitry . You will not have a problem with that depth of tank. The spread of these rights is quite impressive. It would be good to go into quite a lot of detail about every step of the tank build. I think it would be appreciated by a lot of people.

Congratulations and good luck. During the 1st year you'll feel like you should be receiving a salary for taking care of that tank. Recently I had the opportunity to go bigger, but I was wiser than you and I didn't :)
@TreasureCorals

Ahahaha. And yes on both accounts :) Owning a tank is not the smartest decision in general, but for some reasons we just keep doing it.

6 AI blades I would go 3 grow and 3 glow. Alternate grow glow thru the tank you will be happy with the look for sure. Tank looks massive behind you on screen I’m excited to see this build… this would be a dream tank size for me. Well done 🫡
@TreasureCorals
@TreasureCorals 7 месяцев назад
Thank you. I had an amazing experience with Grows, so it will be 4:2 ratio for now, will need to figure out proper placement of them, maybe 2 grow, 2 glow and 2 grow. But probably it is better to do: Gr, Gl, Gr, Gr, Gl, Gr

@@TreasureCorals with the selection your using I’d agree with your layout plan. I’m interested in seeing them light this massive tank by themselves. Be weary of sagging on the extra length. I’m looking forward to this build 🫡
