There's something uncanny but also funny of Chris smiling in the thumbnail with the title being "Death his the Squad"

You should make a note in each of the men's files when they joined the company so that we can see the turnover/track the old-timers!

A few small tips, when the order to retreat comes if possible make it an orderly retreat, just rushing as quick as possible to the back lines will lose a lot of reputation, you can see if your next position is too far back in the modifier section. Loving the series! Hope this doesn’t come across like back seat gaming lol

I like that the Danes get a mention, it is seldom reported that they took part in the western front. Near my place was a relatively stable sector of the front and the Danes were stationed in the whereabouts. The local association dedicated to memory preservation gathered lots of anecdotes involving them, the latest being about a field where lay buried to this day the namesakes of Napoleon and Bismarck.

This is released july 5, the day after one of the hardest days for some combat vets. I have seen, and been, a grown man rocking in the fetal position while fireworks burst. We still lose guys years after leaving the battledield due to this, many by their own hands. If you have a friend that served, especially in a combat zone, check up on them every now and then please.

I was a Mortar Fire Controller and can confirm the bridge would have been a bad move. I always recorded bridges as targets by fire if allowed. On promotion courses if you patrolled lazily and took bridges and not swim you got ambushed and you’d be forced to carry casualties back as punishment which your fellow course mates ‘loved’ you for.

Obviously Arsene Wenger, former Arsenal and Monaco manager is from Alsace, that's why we say his name like Venger, fluent in German and French as well as other languages. We also started calling German Shepard dogs Alsatians after WWI.

I like this game, the first time I dabbled the first shot I fired in anger was a mercy shot at another German, putting him out of his misery. Not a really uncommon story at that time. The save system is a bit weird but its work in progress.

i have a question : did ANYBODY get out of this war with their mental faculties intact? maybe some americans because they werent at the front 24/7 but amonnsgt french, german, belgian, british troops , what was left is a shell of a human beeing prone to violent outbursts and with no regard to life

Starting to get a feel for these soldiers now. Curious to know the ages of these young soldiers, 15?! Seriously? I know in the British army at that time anyone found to be that age would be sent home.

Why don't the wounded get sent back home to recover..
@celston51
@celston51 28 дней назад
The brutal reality of war- The medical personnel have to evaluate if A) the casualty is out of immediate danger B) the casualty has developed any gangrene or infections C) the casualty can survive the trip back home Only when it's safe to transport the casualty would that soldier possibly be sent home. For many men, a return to home life like Paul from "All Quiet" would be much more traumatizing than staying with their friends and fellow soldiers. Most casualties that could recover would stay with their unit unless treatment at the front wasn't enough to return that man to the front.
@TheHistoryGuy
@TheHistoryGuy 28 дней назад
there was a massive system of aid stations, field hospitals, general hospitals, casualty clearing stations, etc. Some eventually went back home, but most never made it that far.
@stevepirie8130
@stevepirie8130 28 дней назад
Casualties also recover quicker remaining with their unit if possible. The military encouraged lightly wounded to recuperate within house and could be looked after on light duties until fit. I was hurt 3 different occasions and twice I stayed and completed tours. The time I got sent home I felt amputated from the unit and took longer to get back to fitness.

Love the videos however I don't call PTSD anything that has to do with war for identity of the soldier of what they've been through. I call it for what it is. Shell shocked is what it was called and has changed names four times throughout the generations and now it's PTSD so now we got four medications for the same mental capacity for soldiers and four different possibly medications are for the same thing. Good old George Carlin calls itself language they change the name so it wouldn't sound fearful to the next generation when they went to war. 1. Shell shocked 2 battle fatigue 3 operational exhaustion 4 lasley PTSD post-traumatic stress disorder. The fourth one should not have anything to do with soldiers in my opinion. it should be only one of the first three primarily number one. I think that makes sense then what we call it now.

You got Kummerbunt killed. This is very disappointing, as he is by far the best character in the game. Atleast you got Pedersen, but you should know that he's one of the worst, and you should send him first for just about everything.
