Wow ~ I got a ton of extra, random items before but it did NOT happen from sketching Gau. I wish I had photos of when it happened. It must have been a major game glitch, but I wound up with more Paladin shields than I could equip to all my characters. Easily 100s of Dirks (which I just had Shadow throw at everything) - there were multiple listings for them in my inventory (another glitch in its own right), and if I tried to sell them , they didn't always disappear from the list! I also had I think 4 Illumina swords, and maybe 6 Atma weapons. Again, I had more swords than characters who could equip them! Most times people don't believe all this happened but I swear it did. I had been grinding in the little desert filled with Cactrots and Sand Worms when it happened. I wound up maxing out the time counter on that game file too (original SNES). Now I wanna play again~!
Sounds like you encountered the "Sketch Bug" - I googled it to double check my memory of how it worked, basically anytime Relm's "SKETCH" command misses - the game bugs out in strange ways. (Lots of items in the inventory, sometimes even graphical bugs like character pallet swaps). From what I read, it sounds like sketching invisible enemies work similar to sketching Gau. Maybe while you were in the cactuar desert, your sketch command failed somehow, giving you all the items you described :D I remember that this bug only occurs in the V1.0 version of the game, and is patched out in V1.1
@@MarriedGamerGuy I don't think Relm was even in the party when it happened though. I rarely used her. The other weird thing was that I could sell more items than what I had in my inventory. Like some items, the quantity would be listed as 01 or 02, etc. When you had less than 10 of a given item it SHOULD be listed as one digit: 1,2,3 and so on. So (I think) the game saw that as 100+ of that item. Then, when I sold some of the item, if I sold a certain amount, I would still have some left (I forget exactly how it worked out) even if the amount was more than my inventory said. If that makes sense, lol. All this happened a good 20 years ago or more. But basically I was able to procure a TON of money. Setzer could use his coin toss ability like it was going out of style~ Do you know if they fixed the Sketch gitch/bug in the Gameboy Advance version ot the game?
Strago can learn his most powerful spell Quasar from his dream sequence boss. only place in game where you can i believe. Goddess uses it in final battle but you wont learn it.
Yeah, just double checked, Grand Delta has 84 spell power where as Quasar has 57. It appears Quasar is just a weaker form of Grand Delta. I think it looks way cooler though
Also if you cast fire on a party member who's equipped with the crystal sword, they discover smoking crystal meth and your fire spell is replaced with the "meth" spell which makes your battle guage always full, even right after attacking. But each time you use the spell on someone, it permanently reduces every stat by 1. Then once anyone has had meth casted on them over 15 times, they start randomly attacking your party members and items from your inventory start disappearing and if you go two battles without casting meth on that character, their health starts depleting and they can't use any actions or specials.
Me I'd rather use Odin for it gives plus 1 to battle speed when gaining a level and than when everyone is level 99 everybody is so fast that even the dinosaur forest area monsters are slow af yo yeehaw!
Back in the day, I remember doing the sketch glitch (before everyone knew about it) and getting 99 Exp Eggs and 9999 Dirks. Weird thing was: if you equipped an Egg and unequipped it, it would simply disappear from your inventory. And yes, the glitch only seems to work on the physical SNES version. And only on earlier revisions. It doesn't work on any remakes nor could I get it to work in emulation. Like I said, it was patched up in later revisions of the SNES version. I have heard of it f@cking your game up, like erasing save files and what not, but that never happened to me.
Fun fact. The creators of the game were idiots by adding. Atma and ragnarok at last boss to be stolen. You cant use it anymore. When you kill that boss it is over.
FF6 is sorta the sleeper masterpiece in this series. How fortunate I was to choose this game as my first RPG experience. 7 is way more popular and many think it is the best in the series, but secretly many, many fans love 6 just as much, if not more. Makes me want to play 7! I'm sure both games are absolutely the pinnacle of the genre!
It was the same way for me as well. My good friend basically was like "You should play this game." Handed me ff6...I didn't know what I was in for. I remember being stuck on Vargas/Sabin's Pummel- and I went to sleep that night unable to figure it out! I remember having a fever dream and for some reason woke up, and just knew exactly what I was doing wrong. So I went downstairs and input the Blitz on the proper menu prompt. Seems really dumb, but it's easy to mess up if you don't realize you're inputting the Blitz L R L at the wrong time! After I beat 6, he lent me FF7 and from the very beginning of that game, I didn't know it then, but I was a FINAL FANTASY fan for life. I remember leaving to go to the skatepark with the crew and as they arrived, I chose to leave the PS1 on during the Tifa/Cloud Starry Well scene in 7th Heaven. Man. Those truly were the golden years of my life- pokemon, n64, sleepovers, skating, FF- I'm a music teacher now, and I talk to my students about FF lol. I want them to know the joy I knew, and hear the absolutely legendary work of Nobuo Uematsu. He is the GOAT in my eyes. The music in these games changed the way I heard music and harmony. FF10 might have been my first introduction to jazz, haha. Square Enix jazz, anyway. I should probably steer them towards FF7 Remake first now, and retroactively they might play through the series. FF changed my life for the better- given me so much joy over the years to this very day. So I'm finally streaming games and 6 is the first one. Bless
1:17 You don't need to say No to Banon 3x to get the Genji Glove. Just say No once, then go back to the storage room and talk to the guy guarding it. By doing this, you get to see the meeting room scene which you would have skipped otherwise when answering No thrice.
At around 1:44 mark, there is a secret chest you missed by going behind the tent. There is a spot you can go further north on. There's another tent and a chest containing I believe its a barrier ring.
If you equip a spear type weapon along with the dragoon boots relic, then instead of just the little boost in damage you get when you jump while you have other types of weapons equipped, you’ll do double damage. Equip the dragon horn relic along with the spear and dragoon boots combo, doing anywhere from 10,000-20,000 hp damage per turn wouldn’t be unheard of.
Final Fantasy 7 is great. It wouldn't have this much of a lasting legacy otherwise . If you want to see average, look at Final Fantasy 8 or anything past Final Fantasy 10.
If you save outside Narsche at the beginning of the game and play all the way to the floating continent without saving, when you die and restart at Narsche, the game will glitch and give you the airship. Go to Zozo and you will find characters you haven't met yet replaced by the moogles from Narsche cave. Just be careful as some fights can freeze the game. The game will also log in your hp from the last time you died, so you can heal back all the HP you had when you last died.
@@jeffreystevens8042 It’s a trip to see, especially when you see Tina looking at Tina in the scene at the top of Zozo. You could also use a Game Genie code to give you the airship at the beginning if you don’t feel like playing all the way to the floating continent, but the fact that there is a way to get the airship at the beginning without a Game Genie is still pretty cool.
I can only think of a couple i didnt see or read in the comments 1) vanish then xzone will kill any enemy. Do it on doom gaze tho and you will not get the esper 2) You can get the spell meteo (from FFIV) in this game. 3) equip offering and genji glove together for a total of 8 strikes 4) Sleeping in beds in different towns will score you 4 different dreams for Shadow 5) there is a desert near the empires capital that has cacarots. Easy kill for 10mp 6) equip Umaro with rage ring and gauntlet and watch him slaughter things 7) on Stragos side quest he can learn his most powerful spell from the boss
WARNING! You may want to think twice about getting Odin enhanced into Raiden! The reason is that Odin is the ONLY esper that provides Speed +1 upon level up. Doing this can make your characters exceptionally fast and Odin is the only way to do it. You can always get Raiden later.
4:22 I remember spending hours going through every possible combination to get that secret... FINALLY after many tries I got it X-D good times that. I played the HELL out of this game :P.
The Raiden one was probably one of my proudest finds when I was a kid. You have to speak to a scholar in Figaro that tells you the number of steps the queen had to make and from there, you can find the switch
@@mountainmgtow5421 I mean, Ultima, Quick, Curaga, Arise and Reraise are all you need to breeze through the game, especially if you have gold hairpins, celestriads and/or the Soul of Thamasa.
I survived MagiMaster by using the Pallidor esper, so when all of the party flies out of the battlefield, the one who drops down first would be the only unlucky person to be killed by ULTIMA.
No matter how often I play this game, I always find something new. I knew about most of the stuff in this video, except a chest or two, but then came the Daryl scene I HAD NEVER SEEN IN 24 YEARS OF OWNING THIS GAME! #worldwideechoingfacepalm
1:16 you don't have to deny Bannon 3 times to get Genji Glove. I think you could deny him once or twice, then get back inside to the furtherest/northern room, talk to a Returner, and he'll give you a Genji Glove. You then could accept/deny Bannon offer for the 3rd time, except he won't give you item anymore.
Yep. You're right. All it really means though is you can get Genji Glove and still choose what cut scene you want. Unless you want the Gauntlet that is. In that case, what is wrong with you?
Many of these I knew from exploring thoroughly but some I learned from walkthrus. Also all the exploits are due to bugs in the original SNES version and they were fixed in later versions. By the way you dont need Life 3 for the MagiMaster. You can kill him with Rasp/Osmose.
Leveling too much early on can gimp your characters, since the best Espers don't come around until the WoR. Espers give your characters +STAT on level (+HP/MP/STR/MAG/SPD). Locke with maxed speed and haste is... pretty hilarious, actually.
Took me years to figure that out. Granted, I was six when I first stated playing this game so you don't normally think long-term like that. My brother's and I used to level like crazy early on and always get all the characters the magic when we got new espers.
smokes alive, that white cape in returner's hide out and momento ring in the bedroom... also lol terra and the scrap of paper. hey don't forget the buried treasure in the esper cave. it's buried in the dirt as you go down the stairs.
Fun Fact about the Barrier Ring found in the tent: This secret was missed in the Official Final Fantasy 3 strategy guide My buddy and I were using the guide going through the game and found that one by accident
6:06 i forgot the name of that place where you will go to the gate of the esper world, but if you make terra enter the entrance of that cave area alone, she will make a special dialogue saying she cant do this without her friends.
Not sure if it works in later versions, but if you Morph Terra and have her cast Sleep on herself(no one else is strong enough usually) right before it runs out, she won't turn back. When she wakes, she'll remain morphed for full damage. Also, in the snes version, Number 024 and the MagiMaster can both be killed by reducing their mp to 0.
I give Gau the imp stuff because of his story. And it also gives him a suitable beast form xD I only turn him into an imp as a pretend limit break during battle sometimes.
The Vanish + X-Zone trick... holding down the A button when in the rapids to auto-level... how to get Shadow for the WoR (not everyone knows this)... how to get to a glitched WoB through a cave in the WoR... what happens when all eight dragons are defeated... the secret of Gogo's identity... how to get "Kutan" in your party... how to get actual moogles in your party... saving Cid's life (not everyone knows this)... how to get General Leo in your party. That's all the ones I can think of.
There is no Gogo secret identity, it isn't Daryl. It was shot down by a high up SE that worked on VI The spot where Daryl clash landed is Intangir(WOB)/Gogo(WOR) island The were rumors of a cutscene where Setzer talks to Gogo in the airship, and starts acting strange like he knows who Gogo is. Gogo calls him as Setzers name and runs away. Every mention of this cutscene is in text only comments, apparent walkthrough etc. There is no footage of it, therefore most likely doesn't exist
Here's one I actually just found out about while brushing up on the Rippler bug and why it yoinks Interceptor away: the game knows when Interceptor isn't available to Shadow and thus the "Interceptor Guard" effect which is what allows him to function in battle, is not active on Shadow during the Floating Continent as Interceptor is not with Shadow there. He is in Thamasa. If you are a heartless bastard (or just don't know any better) and leave Shadow to die on the Continent, when you go the cave in the Veldt in the WoR, Interceptor will lead you to a wounded Relm in place of Shadow, and from then on she will be his new master, meaning Relm now has the "Interceptor Guard" effect. Also, Gogo can mimic "Takedown/Wild Fang" lol. So that's fun. He can truly mimic everything, even someone's dog.
If you go into Gogo's status screen menu you can also assign him abilities other than mimic. Personally I like to give him "steal" as well and go wander the veldt with him and Locke.
I have played and beat this game too many times to count and the two that I found here that I was unaware of was the speed up of the letter process in Mobliz by talking to the post master/cutscene viewing and that you could skip the costume sections for Locke. Fantastic game. What about the 'Air Knife' that is hidden in the entrance to Mt. Kolts?
I knew about the glitch with Sketching Gau but had no idea the glitch was based on enemy formation I usually avoided this glitch because while it was great to wind up with all these items sometimes certain items would just disappear from you inventory all together.
I feel like the guy in Kohlingen in the world of ruin was supposed to be there in the world of balanace. That's not addressed here, but you come from Narshe and your party members aren't automatically unequipped. By the time you get there later, everyone is separated.
you can also just open up a shop menu and exit out to do the same thing for the Tintinabar sidequest, much faster. (Relic Shop is the closest). Literally just have to open the Shop Menu and exit out
If you're playing the GBA or Mobile/Steam version and you steal the Raganrok and Atma Weapon from Lady and Rest during the Kefka fight, you get to keep them. Why? The game saves and you can continue playing in order to challenge the Dragon's Den. Only in these versions can you have BOTH the Ragnarok and Illumina swords.
@13:40 Back in the day, I found out you can use those Imp Halberds to get more Exp. Eggs. What I did was wager the Halberd at the Coliseum, and whatever item I won, I would wager that item, then keep wagering the next subsequent item won which would eventually lead to an Exp. Egg. If I remember correctly, I believe the Rename Card was the last item in that chain to wager to get an Exp. Egg.
This trick is for the snes and upgrade version not the ios version you can silently kill gigangir on that small island once u free to fly airship with Gau in party you must have learned rhodox mob and he’ll cast snare killing him softly giving 10 points learning magic
It's actually logic that kills the phantom train: "Arrgh! I'm dead... No wait, I'm dead already. I'm alive again!? But no, that doesn't make any sense... I'm a train. An inanimate object. I was never alive in the first pla-" * Phantom_Train.exe has encountered an error and will shut down. * Dies.
Some of them are related with the background of the characters which, for me, is the best part of this game. Celes, Sabin, Edgar, Terra, Locke... probably six of the best characters videogames have ever given us
In the empire desert base, there is actually another tent with a chest if you go north of the one with a monster in a box one. If you press up at the wall around it, it will make you jump down to the one more north of you and let you get a chest in that tent too. I just recently found this out after 20 years lol
I agree the sword is a better choice. I would even go as far to say Ultima is completely unnecessary for this game. Regardless, you can have both if you really want. I always trade the Ragnarok for the Lightbringer. Just look at these stats Lightbringer: Atk: 255 Vigor, Speed, Stamina, Magic: +7 Physical and Magic Evade: +50% Chance to cast Holy on hit Consumes 8-12 mana on hit to do critical strike (this also applies to Holy if it is cast)
