I don't think its that odd to add more folklore, in real life lots of cultures have infinite amounts of lore, even if only a handful is wide spread. It's odder to think that the original skins was the *only* folklore Ionia has.

Ionia is literally like hundreds of thousands of years old where spirits and monsters roam around. The folklore there would be more immense compared to ours.
It's odd if they just add them for the sake of skins, not expanding or giving us more insight on the new spirits/folklore and never mentioning them in the lore once (or again)

They would look quite harmless for ghouls I assume? I mean if these were attacking me on the rift coming back from the dead... I'd let them take me. Couldn't hurt these cuties. Anyways I personally rule them out bcs of this reason
spirit blossom was always a money making skinline, it's literally the most weeb fanservice skinline made, more than star guardian it just happened to be high quality as well, which, most skin line's first waves are
I like the fact that they made Sett's Spiritblossom father an Azakana considering that in Lore he is Noxian and Ionians obviously associate them as demons because of their war crimes.
He said Sett's dad is Akana, which are troubled spirits who never found peace (Kanmei are the opposite - spirits who did find peace) - both of which are different to Azakana - lesser demons

ya not a lot of people actually noticed that and thought of nothing but I saw it as well and thought it was soraka or nami, but since nami had splendid staff I thought it was soraka, which I hope it is since I main her, and I can think of a myth for soraka
The eyes in the trees are Evelynn, you can tell because just before it cuts away to the next spirit, the leaves of the trees form firey pink swirl in her hair. Also all the little spirits in the forests with the lantern means, as we already got thresh, Bard. Those spirits will likely be this skin's version of his chimes.
@@HarajukuKenn0706 It also makes sense that the VO mentions the spirit of trickery. I initially thought TF for trickery, but eve being a succubus tricking men to their deaths is also very fitting.
the last spirit blossom was epic, the way we got yone , the lore,the VN,nexus blitz, everything was perfect. its sad to see that they keep downgrading event .
@@QuackersExpress its not the skins. Its the event. Spirit Blossom 2020 was a month long event. If leaks are true then 2022 version will be just one patch. Plus probably a half-baked in-game event coz we already had SG 2022.
Spirit Blossom was my favorite event in League at least in terms of significance. It introduced Nexus Blitz which is a great game mode where you can just play a quick session of League in like 15 mins or so. The Visual Novels were introduced in this event also. It did a good job of parodying Japanese light novels and is perfect for the setting of the event. Not only that but lore was the most important part of the event and it did it well unlike Ruination. It moved champions' stories forward like Yasuo and Ahri and expanded the lore around Ionia with the myths and legends that the people believe there. It even gave us Yone which is like the most hyped champion back then who's ties to Yasuo are very important. It also gave League one of the best skinlines in the entire game with one of the best VFX and concepts we've ever seen using the mix of Japanese instruments and painterly inspired effects. But now that Riot is doing another Spirit Blossom, I'm afraid that Riot won't have that same love and attention that was once there in the first event. Given that every major event has had the same Visual Novel format starting from Spirit Blossom, if they did the same thing again, people would be furious just because we've seen it done so many times now already. Another Visual Novel right after Star Guardian is already getting old. But if they didn't include the Visual Novel, I don't really know what Riot can do to make this event interesting which sucks because Spirit Blossom is such a good theme. I don't want it to be ruined by it being another token event. I also don't see any lore significance since there aren't any published in universe to see if there's anything happening in Ionia. It just makes up more myths and legends I guess which is alright. But I also don't trust Riot to do anything even remotely interesting anymore. Going from Ruination to Star Guardians, the quality of events have dropped so bad now. I know the event hasn't even been fully announced yet but I don't have a good feeling about this event. And I doubt Riot would even make a PVE gamemode at this point. Nexus Blitz is just gonna be the Spirit Blossom gamemode. I just think that this event is just here to sell skins like most events these days. Sorry for the lengthy read. I'm just not feeling confident about this event especially since Spirit Blossom meant so much to me.
Your concerns are very much justified. Personally I felt SG 2022 was... okay but definitely not good as a major event especially with the rewards errors and unfortunately I was taking a break from the game during the Ruination event. One thing I feel can save this event is if Riot gives us some stories on Universe pushing Ionia's lore forward, I mean they've been teasing another Noxian invasion since before the last Spirit Blossom event, they can at least push us closer to that during this event. Though unfortunately I don't think they're gonna give us more than one story, if that. Spirit Blossom 2020 was my favorite event in LoL as well, because it was simply amazing, it is to this day one of the only events I have ever gotten the pass for and I definitely didn't regret it. Spirit Blossom has such a good reputation because of it's past success, I think Riot will realize that because of the last one's success this can't just be a minor event like the already forgotten Steel Valkyries is. Riot cannot risk not doing something more for this event since it's a fan favorite, if they don't do something more, they might as well have ruined it for most Spirit Blossom fans out there already. By something more I don't just mean this teaser they've released, although it's great, they have to do more for it, the last event got so much that this one won't be memorable at all in comparison to it's former glory if they don't.
I think Spirit Blossom will still be a fun event even if it’s just gonna be Nexus Blitz. At least that game mode is a different map and not something like Ult. Spell book with star guardian theme.
I dont think it ever was told that 1st spirit blossom mentioned ALL the spirits and fairytales. Also if i remember correctly, 1st spirit blossom was about the path that soul walks, and can be tempted by certain things to walk of the path that fox spirit leads you. New skins may represent diffreent things/ soul interaction in spirit realm.
1:47 Mate Japan is a small archipelago and they have 8 million Kami, and Ionia is bigger. So it's not unbelievable for them ti have a butt tone of myths or fairy tails.
I love Spirit Blossom Sett and I don't even play Sett! If it has a red chroma... I'm buying it. Sett's hair so perfectly reminds me of InuYasha, I was an instant fan when I saw the trailer yesterday.
According to leaks,he is gonna have 2 legendary skins like soraka,yasuo etc.,so he cant get chroma :(. But if leaks are false so there is hood chance to get red chroma

A nation as spiritual and rich in history as Ionia will have over a 100 legends. Adding 9 more is to the knowledge of us players, Ionians probably told these tales to their kids before. Only thing I would love is if different Ionian characters in main would talk about them like Irelia remembering the tales her mom used to say and it's based around one of these characters.
4:45 - 5:50 I believe this is just one big teaser for Vex because the eyes reminds me of Vex's shadow eyes plus its followed up with a small yordle with horns signifying darkness or being evil and only 2 yordles are inherently tied to darkness in lol. Plus there is fact that Vex is tied to the dead and wants to be, you know...
As much as I want Vex to get SB skin, sadly I have to say no she’s definitely not getting one cuz the yordle sitting on the tree has her ears on both sides of her head while Vex has hers on top of her head according to both skins she has gotten so far, so it’s definitely Tristana sitting on the tree
Finally! I've been waiting for over a month since the leak and now we know the leaked Sett skin was true. I love the design as well and I hope it has a bunch of chromas. If it's true that my three main champions (Sett, Darius & Yorick) all get skins from my favorite skinline that'd be insane. And a legendary one for my favorite champ to boot. Hope it will be as good as the last Spirit Blossom event. This might be the greatest batch of skins I could've imagined.
I think at 4:50 it might be Bard's horn. In the complete image ( 5:05 )you can see at the bottom, tiny little sprites that are reminiscent of Bard's meeps.

I humbly argue that that yordle is 100% Vex because it has her drapey sleeves. Tristana doesn't have sleeves like that, whereas it's a trademark for Vex.
3:41 since one side is larger, and has a 2 slits to to both be used as a one handed and double handed, I believe this is darius, for Olaf maybe but that most likely require there to be 2, it goes really well we what he is. though looking at the demon mask, and it being a Red oni, I feel it means Rage, which is way more Olaf's thing, and Darius is outdated, he ain't an angry man nomore, he sad man.

At the shrine there is a face in one of the stones very similar to the maiden Yorick spawns. The lamp looks like bard, with his chimes. The wolf in the field could be WW or the eyes in the forest could be his.
I do think it’s obviously likely the spirit of chance eludes to TF. There’s the whole talk about chance and luck, but also the eyes could possibly be a double meaning in reference to both how TF’s eyes glow blue with magic but also his ultimate where eyes appear over his opponents.
The glowing eyes in the trees are a reference to Evelynn's eyes glowing when she goes into demon shade. The leaves at the top of the image swirl in the shape of her hair
My view on these. For similar skin and idk about Elderwood and Eternal Sword, just remember Diana has two Lunar Revel skin - Lunar Goddess and Firecracker, unless theyre both connected in a way like the Goddess went down to celebrate conspicuously and that's why the Firecracker went somewhere where no other people are seen. The shadow Sett has looks like Vex's. That might imply that the yordle is Vex and she used an ability like ingame to him to follow him Is Tryndamere also considered a swordsman or other words cause the other two would be Yone and Yasuo then there's also Riven
Why do so many people say the Yordle is Tristana? When I first saw it I immediately though of Vex. She sits in the shadow, she doesn't have a gun, her proportions and posture look more similar to Vex and her sleeves cover her hands. I don't think she looks similar to Tristana at all. The "wolf in the field" at 6:45 also kinda looks like Vex' shadow.
The ears are on the side of her head instead of on the top of her head. It's Tristana. They just gave Vex a wild rift skin and are ignoring us PC players....
I'm both sad and happy we won't get am SB event. Sad because the first event was absolutely amazing, and I played like literally every drop out of that event. Happy though because I'm especially broke this month and couldn't spend on a League event even if I wanted to... A few skins though...
5:50 that is the new yordle champ they were teasing. Those little meep things look almost identical to the teaser for it/her, besides being white instead of yellow.
One of the only ways i can see the 9 skins being feasible in a lore perspective is if this event focuses on the fairytale as like a epic detailing setts entire journey and those he meets on the way
that seems to be the case. just like the original Spirit Blossom event had the main character (us) be the focus of the story in the visual novel as a way to introduce the characters. The story in the cinematic just focused on Yasuo and Yone
OMG, I wish one of them had been Spirit Blossom Zoe. That sounds like it could have been incredible. Especially if it was a legendary. I'm going to watch your new Rift News video a second time, but watching it the first time, I didn't get very excited about the Spirit Blossom skins that have been revealed on PBE.

In terms of the VN, they could do a similar thing the Arcane event did last year and do the VN outside of the client. Not as loaded as the original but enough to tell the story.
i think the yorlde is vex while she doesnt have the shadow with her at the tree when sett has those three bubble around him the pattern on the floor looks like vexs shodow thing
The "lamp", isn't a lamp in my eyes, we saw Tristana later on, on the same woods, with Sett talking of the same person, I believe that lamp is Tristana's weapon
I am not sure who is the teaser with lantern supposed to be for but I think that those eyes are meant for Evelynn because it really looks demonic and also the branches of the trees above the eyes form into the purple hair and that would fit Evelynn perfectly.
You missed the hint for Soraka. In the same river where Yi is, the scene pans down to a calmer pool below a smaller waterfall, showing what seems to be Soraka's staff.
when i saw the shovel at first i thought it was supposed to be jhin's rifle standing on the wall. the flowers made me believe that too. spirit blossom jhin could have been the spirit that became jhin's inspiration for his act. or it could have been a demon/spirit that represent ionia's perception of jhin during his killing spree, like his sprees were to bad that he literally became a folklore legend. a ''golden demon khada jhin''
the evil eyes in the Azakana forest could be Asol? Would be nice if his rework released with a new skin to boot, considering his last skin was 2 years ago
The moon splitting first made me think of the snow moon and blood moon skin lines, but I agree with what you concluded about Aphelios. And the last one, only 2 options come to mind, the funnel patter reminds me of the teaser for Nilah (her demon's hands) or a new champ. So in order, my guesses are: Sett, Aphelios, Darius, Hecarim, Maokai, tristana (though I hate how long the sleeve look), Master yi, Zoe, and Nilah/new champ.

I might be coping rn but the glowing eyes might allude to a possible spirit blossom mordekaiser. It might make absolutely no sense at first but every mordekaiser skin has flaming eyes. The pentakill album covers (which are basically mordekaiser helmet) have flaming eyes as well. Just saying it's a possibility.
honestly, the shadow cast by sett after syndra shows up (the one in the field) also really looks like vex's shadow to me. Like.. Cmon, it literally IS a shadow
while i know we just had star guardians but i would be really surprised if they re did spirit blossom and didn't put the same amount of effort into it considering how successful the first one was plus with how many skins we are getting it will def be a 2 part event
