My dad used this navy in the navy for nearly 10 years and just gave me it i had to sharpen it ofc but its still just as smooth as the one in the vid and perfect condition after 9 years of torture and use

I only have one Sog folder the Pendulum with a VG10 blade which is also discontinued but I love it. This one looks nice as well so they can turn out descent knives.great video guys you always make me smile! 😊

Bought a pentagon elite in 2010 and carried it with me nearly every day for 4 years. That thing was durable. I’d mark dry wall with it, cut steel straps (I was thoroughly surprised it could do that), and it spent some time buried in desert sand and was fine. Tip never broke. Down side: after a couple years of use, the action became kinda loose (never opened in pocket like some gerbers), and the lock is prone to allowing the blade to move if jarred well enough during use.

I recently purchased a zoom mini used like new for 30 bucks and I love the action on this knife. It is super snappy yet smooth as silk. Lock is much smoother than other sogs however I wish they offered the locking feature with blade deployed and as a safety while closed. Still a great edc even though it looks goofy af😂

I have the seki city Japan sog spec elite and beat on it pretty hard for several months working on my house. The plastic handle feels cheap, but the axis/arc lock and vg10 is solid. I'd still choose my cheapo rat 1 over it thought. The sog arc lock action is very smooth, but to be honest my benchmade freek is better built.

Never been a SOG guy but I did customize one on my channel that I got in a knife trade SOG Fielder(eh). It looks a bit better now in my opinion but still a sog. The action is a bit better now so its a win...win... , i suppose. I like the first one you guy whipped out though.

Don’t know if you have ever tried one but the SOG Vulcan is an awesome knife. They make a couple different blade styles, including tanto which is what I have, and they also make a mini for Frankie. Same Arch lock action.

I have the Vulcan, myself. I remember seeing the knife on the SOG website back when I was first getting into knives and trying to build up my collection, and I thought that it looked amazing. I think it was running for like $150, or more. So, I "stayed my wallet", as it were. But, I eventually came across it again. I'm not even sure if it was cheaper than it was when I found it the first time. But, I bought it; Tanto style blade with a mirror shine to it, nice ergonomics to the handle, good weighty feel, and, like you said, smooth opening and closing with that arc-lock. I remember the description stated that it had some cosmetic defect. But, I've never noticed anything. Maybe I'm always just too busy admiring the blade itself and that buttery flipping motion to notice?

I have that as well in a drop point p/e....it’s a Seki model along with a large Vulcan, 3.0 Tomcat, and a Visionary 2....ALL great knives with the Arc Lock....

I'm a sog fanboy. Favorite one is the Snarl, albeit it's not a folder. It's a neck knife. Traction was the worst. It has rods, and not screws to tighten. It's built to fail

An arc lock without a ton of blade play? Wonder if they finally fixed that or if you've got a one in a million knife there. Every SOG arc lock I've seen or dealt with has had blade play to the point that it's thought of as part of the design. The aegis is a decent knife... if you don't mind blade play and paying $70 for aus-8.

BirdShot IV, yeah unfortunately the Talwar models were discontinued last year. I was pretty upset. The 4" version is my favorite all time CS model. I was able to grab a couple before they disappeared though. So it wasn't a total loss.

I miss the old Sog days! Back when they were “kinda” like Spyderco, as in you weren’t sure if something was made here in the US, or in Taiwan, or Japan, and you knew if it came from China it wasn’t a “high-end” item lol! Sog is a lot like my age (soon to be 40)- 10-15 years ago, it was great! Now, it’s just depressing! Lol I’m gonna go drink an Ensure and tell a bunch of teenagers to get off my damn lawn!

Forgot, I love their USA Made Multi-Tools Powerlock & Powerassist. I have both, in Satin and Black, and honestly are built great! I sense these will be phased out shortly for the “sawft” -2CR-13MOV (the negative is hyperbole, used to highlight the overall “sawftness” of SOG’s current Chinese Stainless Steel of choice).

My sister's ex was a SOG fanboy and he had a lot of them, plus I knew a few other people that used them. I can Honestly say... I've never handled a SOG knife that I actually liked. Many of the ones I did were total fails, and SOG isn't exactly a cheap brand for what you get. SOG in general is just a brand where I say thanks, but no thanks.

SOG is a sad shadow of the Brand from years ago. Most of this can be blamed on their move to cheaper material and gimmick knives and the morons that have floated to the top of the SOG management team. Go watch the Nutn SOG factory tour from 2013 a to see the sheer level of stupidity put forth from Chris and Nando (sp). They are not knife/gear guys and dont appear to be any sort of outdoor enthusiast. That's how you end up with products made out of cheap materials, odd designs with SOG plastered all over every part of the knife in some pathetic attempt to make up for the poor quality. Look at the Tom Cat from 20 years ago, then in your mind imagine where that design should have gone, now look at where it did go and try not to laugh out loud.
