I’m not a big nascar fan but just watched a Vice documentary about this track and this rebirth of this track is absolutely beautiful.

As a lifelong Wilkes County native, this absolutely warms my heart, brings a smile to my face, and almost brings a tear to my eye. That track sat on the side of US Highway 421 like a haunted house. A legendary track that's pretty much Ground Zero of NASCAR and is within spitting distance of my house, abandoned because of greed, sat alone and slowly fell apart for almost 30 years. And now, brought back from the dead thanks to efforts of Dale Earnhardt Junior, Governor Roy Cooper, the passionate residents of Wilkes County and the surrounding counties, and last but not least, the son of the man that sold the track in the first place, Marcus Smith. Thank you all so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! God bless you all 🥹🥹🥹

Amazing! Even with how much of a blowout the last stage was, it was still just spectacular to watch cars on such an old track and see so many fans happy to be there.

This was a pretty short race to be honest. When I saw kyle larson won I was confused because it had only felt like they were green for 100 laps or so🤷🏾‍♂️.I was hoping chase would somehow conjure up some momentum. Glad suarez had a chance to lead a few laps I guess his car wasnt good enough to compete with hendrick. Overall gelrewt choice by nascar to move the race to north wilkesboro.

I’ve lived in wilkesboro my entire life love it here I was at the race each my favorite was when Dale jr raced

That track needs ‘revitalization’.

Race was boring. The new car’s short-track aero package is at fault. Not the track. 1000 HP would have been the solution to great racing. Short tracks aren’t fun anymore because of the current package.

i wish toyota would make a supra nascar cup car like they got in the Xfinity series they look way better then the camry

I don't get how some of these kids are claiming this is one of their favorite tracks when it was shut down well before they were even Born. That ranks up there in the Disrespectful category like claiming you are a military vet because you played a war sim. Son, just don't... Add: For something a bit more thought inducing, when they were talking about wedge in the second half and the tire width, I'm doing armchair cloud math and the contact patch is barely as large as the average sports shoe (not the same shape naturally, but surface area on the ball of the foot).

They put too much on Larson's tires. He flew through the field better than all of the drivers with new tires. They fixed his car and he was just fast!

Man, Nascar you have got to fix this car. Give these guys 800hp, bring back the softer, smaller tires, do away with the diffuser and splitter to take away downforce, and watch how fun these cars will be when they're racing. You have got to think about what made the sport grow and get as popular as it did. You doing the direct opposite and slowly killing the sport.

This race was so boring, if they bring this back here they need to do something way different because it was way short and hella boring
