I’ve never understood the whole “Star Wars chronological order is confusing” thing until now…thanks for clearing it up though! Might start a marathon now🤔
I don't understand why George Lucas and Disney haven't given us movies or tv shows from periods like the sith empire or old galactic republic. Would love to see new characters, plots and a different dynamic before the Darth Bane Rule of two where the Sith are always few in number or after order 66 when BOTH the Sith and Jedi are few in number. Would love to see a period where you have thousands of sith and jedi in a battle fight it out.
I adore Star Wars so much. I’ve seen Ahsoka so many times now I know the story back to back (maybe I should feel a tad bit embarrassed) but I do plan a Star Wars marathon (minus games) I’ve played them already. I don’t know why but I’ll watch episode 1&2 and then fall of it after Clone Wars movie. So this time I intend on finishing what I started. So I’ll try out this order. I haven’t done Tales before episode 1 before so it’ll be interesting. Thanks for taking the time for this.
Good concise video, only suggestion is in the 2024 version you voice over reading the numbers and titles as they go. I wanted to watch while cleaning the kitchen so being able to listen would have been awesome. Thank you!
No problem at all man. Glad to hear it! I know the updated video for this year is super late and I feel really bad about it. I'm working on it and it should be out by the end of the month. Thank your for your patience.
I'm curious how legends fits in.. ofc I know it isn't canon but I feel like legends is some of my favourite star wars content, like anything old republic, Kotor, SWToR. I'd love to see a full list of legends and canon together. But also if love to see where all the written works fits in too, like a giant comprehensive list of legends & canon of books, graphic novels, movies, TV, games etc. ❤
Thanks, I'm glad to hear that. My next stream will be this Saturday at 9:00 A.M. I'm going to be playing some Star Wars Disney Infinity. I'd love for you to join! You can also find the live stream that's scheduled under the live tab on my channel.
Thank you so much you help me alot, because of this video i became a star wars fan, hope you make a update next year, what came out after you launch this vídeo?
Thank you for clarifying this chronological order. 👍 I just finished watching Bad Batch and it was great. So now Solo is next. I will play Fallen Order after that. But I think that even Force Unleashed (with the Light ending) could be canon, but I don’t know what time does it take place in.
No problem man. This year's updated version is super late, but am working on it and I'm on my final steps. I'm hoping it will be out in less than a week. Unfortunately force unleashed is not canon anymore because of what Disney did when they bought it back in 2012.
I just finished watching clone wars for the first time ever, and i did in chronological order. For anyone interested, its defs a fun way to do it, especially when you see politcal padme episodes of her in the senate effect battle episodes that chronologically happened shortly after, but may have released 3 seasons earlier, its nice seeing it develop and it feels like youre actually tracking the state of the galaxy theough a war, rather than just seeing snippets. (Like, the cad bane kidnapping arc is like a whole season apart, so its nice to see it all in one go rather than "huh whend did that happen? Oh two seasons ago, gotcha, i think i remmber that") However, while i enjoy the padme senate eps a lot, chronoligcally, about halfway through the show, there are 7 eps in a row of nothing but senate debates and it got tiring, even though i was still enjoying it. For anyone who hasnt watched clone wars, ask a friend who has to know what arcs/eps to watch, cuz you dont need to see all of it. (I will never get my the hours back after watching D-squad arc, holy god)
The acolyte will be the very first thing to watch even before some of the tales of the jedi episodes or even the phantom menace. As for tales of the empire I'm going to have to do some research to be exact because I know some episodes happen during the clone wars while others happen in between episodes 3 and 4, but then there could also be some other ones that happen a little later that I have to double check. That's just what's on the top of my head atm. There will be an updated video that will be out this month, but most likely come out next week, I'm working on it.
I know force unleashed is made not canon but i think its best to play both between revenge of the sith and the bad batch for anyone who wants to play it
Hey man, I'm sorry it's not out yet. I really thought I'd have it out by now and it's almost done but just putting a priority on a news update. It should've already been out by now and I apologize, so I don't want to give another date just in case it doesn't happen but I am planning on it coming out not next week but the week after, earlier in that week though. (Probably the 26th through 28th)
Why is The Acolyte being released next year it's a movie about the high republic and the history of the jedi which was before any of these 2024 re-star wars marathon
Hello there! I was supposed to have it out a week ago (well actually before that) sorry man, I'm trying to get back on track but something unexpected came up. My plan is to have it out this week though.
The Mandalorian is there. You can watch it right after season 2 or to be more specific you can watch it after book of Boba Fett, but it won't matter much regardless. Hope this helps.
I was wrong. You are right. Andor does come before Rebels. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I will fix this for the 2024 version. My initial thought was to put it before Rogue one because they said it was going to lead directly into it, but I guess they mean season 2 because that didn't happen. So I'm guessing there's going to be a time gap between season 1 and 2. Otherwise, they're breaking more continuity once again.

Next time you do an upload of the whole chronological order again, could you please also include the books, novels, and comics? Thank you!! Great Video I loved it.
That's still considered Battlefront 2. For those that play the game it tells you 30 years later or whatever length of time it was. That is something I could mention though towards the end when I mention tales of the jedi and clone wars, so thanks for bringing that up.
No problem! Just didn't think that people would be interested in that or necessary, but that is something I could add in this series for the future.@@tjk-goix8513
Still doing a chronological marathon right now, at S3 of Rebels. But just to point out I heard someone say Andor takes place before Rebels so idk. Other than that it’s pretty accurate!
Nice, hope you're enjoying it! As for Andor taking place before Rebels that's not the case. Rogue One is a prequel to A New Hope (it leads right up to it), and Andor is a prequel to Rogue One (the second season is supposed to show that and lead right up to it just like Rogue One did to A New Hope). Hope this clears things up. Although, it wouldn't really matter even if you watched Andor first because there's really no overlap. They could also be happening at the same time since it's about 5 BBY.
@@TheGrayJedi yeh both shows start at 5bby, so technically Rebels is after (for now) since it covers years 5-1bby, but it's confirmed that season 2 of andor, every 3 episodes will be the next year, so the first 3 eps will be 4bby, the next 3 eps will be 3bby, etc.. which means Andor and Rebels will start and end in the same years, so watch them however you like really.
I believe it will be the Acolyte first because they said it will be centuries before episode one when young jedi adventures is only 200 years before I believe.
That's a cool idea, but it will be a while before that would possibly come out just because there's a TON of Legends material and would take a long time to put together right. Not saying no, but it's not on my priority list right now because I'm working on a ton of other content I need to get out first.
Hello there! Yeah, I'd love to help. I'd watch episodes 1, 2, and 3 before watching The phantom menace, episode 1 (movie), then I'd watch episode 4 after episode 1 and before episode 2 (movie) attack of the clones, and then I'd watch episode 5 in between clone wars seasons 2 and 3, and then I'd watch episode 6 after bad batch season 1. Hope this helps. I also say this in my video if you'd watch it. (It's in the bonus info part) 5:04
@@TheGrayJediBro you are the goat 🐐 +1 sub thank you so much i was searching so much for a good video explaining the chronological order of sw but nothing then i found this video you literally changed my life thank you Ps : sorry for my english it's not my first language
Thanks, appreciate the kind words! Hope you enjoy the future content! Glad to hear I was able to be of some help! All good man, I understand you fine. In fact you write a lot better than a lot of people on the internet from what I see.@@Anonymous-rs4ot
i only saw the movies and i was searching for the full chronological order to watch also the other shows, may someone explain me why there insn't Battlefront 1?
Everything is there buddy. Movies, shows, and video games just like the video says. Battlefront 1 isn't in there because their is no story and only multiplayer which doesn't add anything to add to the story.
Does anyone have any novel recommendations? Especially if there are any must read ones for earlier segments of the timeline? I understand some novels were written to talk about the past and other galaxies? Not sure lol
Personally, I really like the ones that are pre-Disney, which are now legends and technically no longer canon, but they can still a lot to the story. It really just depends on what exactly you're looking for. If you're wanting a canon novelization, I don't know any at the moment that I could recommend.
Does that mean that none of the other games should be considered cannon. I thought the force unleashed would be. Also what about the cartoon series Droids. Is that in there anywhere? Thanks.
@TheGrayJedi I've been looking it up. The stuff they threw out of cannon they now call the legends category. I'm wondering how much more they can keep adding to the saga. I know they want it to keep making money but it's already looking bloated. When will they call it a day and leave it to be what it is. I've seen that Mark Hamil has given them permission to use his likeness to make more content with a younger Luke so I think they are going to be going at it for a few years to come. Thank you for getting back to my question. MTFBWY.
You only have one question after Rise? Wow, I had a lot more, and they've never answered them and probably never will. To answer you're question though since they're making a Rey movie 15 years after Rise I'm pretty sure they're going to be more sith that are there or rise up. There's always going to me more force users in the universe, it will just matter on how they use it. To be honest, the more you try and find answers with this trilogy, the more you're going to realize how it doesn't fall in line with the original Star Wars (Pre-Disney) and how things don't really make sense. Just like how Rey is actually Palpatine living in her and she's pretending to be a Jedi, lol. Well, from a certain point of view. Palpatine said kill me so I can live in you after the ritual, and that's exactly what happened, Good Job Rey!
@@TheGrayJedi I feel like if they had stolen another story like Harry Potter or Final Fantasy 7 and added some lightsabers and old characters, it would have been more in line with the original story than the Disney trilogy🤣
Is there any OFFICIAL chronological order? I've recently started re-watching the trilogies, had never decided to watch shows, but I don't understand a lot of the events. There's honestly too many shows to watch.
Yeah, this is it sadly. Although, I completely feel you. If I were you I would watch it like this if you don't want to watch all the shows and stuff. 1. Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 2. Episode 2: Attack of the Clones 3. The Clone Wars Movie 4. The Clone Wars Show Seasons 1-6 (I'm recommending this one show because it's worth it, just give it a try). 5. Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith 6. Episode 4: A New Hope 7. Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back 8. Episode 6: Return of the Jedi Then, if you want Star Wars to most likely be "ruined" for you then you can watch... (At least it was like this for me). 9. Episode 7: The Force Awakens 10. Episode 8: The Last Jedi 11. Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker (# 9-11 (episodes 7-9) was Disney made). I hope this helps and gives you more direction.
@@TheGrayJedi Thanks for a quick reply! I've watched Episodes I, II and III, but I'll probably watch it all over again, this time in order, including The Clone Wars movie and show, because I've only heard praises about those two. [Question: When should I watch S7 of The Clone Wars?] I always skip the sequels because those movies ruin everything that had been built prior to them. I just don't think those are worth watching, since they don't bring anything new to the story.
@@caspy1009 Oh yes, I meant to put The Clone Wars season 7 after Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith for what I would consider a better experience. {Mainly because of the last 4 episodes}. Absolutely agree with what you said about the sequels!
Would've preferred you actually naming each thing out loud, telling us briefly why it goes in that place, chronologically… I still subscribed, though… *_May the Force be with you!_* 🫵🏻
Honestly watching the Star Wars movie (Or any movie, TV and game series really.) is more fun when watching in release order. Sure it's weird. But trust me when I say it's more enjoyable. After watching the prequels and Clone Wars series after watching the original trilogy, I felt more bad for Darth Vader/Anakin due to all crud he suffered through. At first Darth Vader is the big bad person of the galaxy who is Luke's father, but as you going to the prequels he's not that bad. His mother died in his arms after being tortured by a group of Tusken Raider. He used to be known as Anakin Skywalker and was a slave back in Episode I. Then he used to have a wife and seen as one of the heroes of the Clone Wars. Anakin even has a Padawan (Ahsoka). Shame, Palpatine ruined it all by misleading him to the wrong path.
Well, if you're interested I have the entire playthroughs on the channel! I have dedicated playlists for them if you want to follow the story and watch it like a movie.
@@TheGrayJedi what ? Really ?? Even though it’s on Disney + catalogue ?? EDIT: yeah fair enough it’s catalogued « Star Wars Vintage » on Disney +, my bad. A shame though this thing was really good
@@TheGrayJediI didn’t see it for a while now, but from memory it takes place between Star Wars 2 and 3, but before Clone Wars 3D, except for the final episodes which tell the story right before Revenge of the Sith (kidnapping of Chanceler Palpatine by Grievious). So it still covers a part that Clone Wars didn’t explore.
@@TheGrayJedi I'm still looking for the best watching order of the Star Wars series and movies without spoiler, while twists and turns stays the same..
If it were up to me, I agree, and actually most of Disney's stuff wouldn't be there, but for this video I separated the facts from opinion. This year I want to start my recommended watch order in addition to updating this.
What do you mean no actual text list is provided? It's there...4:38 And yeah, Jesus loves you! That's okay if you give it a thumbs down, but I don't see why you wouldn't like that Jesus loves you, lol or anyone for that matter. "Oh darn, someone loves me, I hate that". Like what?, lol. What text list would you have liked?
@@TheGrayJedi "Text list" implies, well, text. It can be copied and pasted, esp in this context. Your screen full of thumbnails is not a text list. Keep your religious delusions and proselytizing to yourself. Blocking this channel.
@Pessimist That's fine if you don't like it, but the acting was good. That one is a fact because George Lucas the creator said so. You just may not like the characters. Also, the vfx for the time was revolutionary and pushed what was possible and helped the industry as a whole.
@Pessimist Just saying that if the creator said that they played his characters perfectly then that sounds like good acting to me and that you just don't like the characters.
