because its by far the hardest thing in any call of duty game. Ive played all the from software game, a lot of old school nes and snes games considered super hard. these strike force missions are harder than all of those, for me anyway.
A lot of people hated these missions, but I enjoyed them greatly. It was a nice touch, interesting gameplay, and had a small but rather important outcome on the game ending if you completed them all.
this was some of the strongest campaign aspects call of duty has to offer imo. a fully fleshed out game that balances the tactical commanding & single unit gameplay would be amazing
Completing these missions leads toward the good ending. If you complete them, you kill the corrupt Chinese General Zhao at the end, China sides with the US, and the SDC come to your aid when the USS Obama is under attack, preventing it's destruction.
The thing is Strike Force Mission is connected to the Main campaign of the game. So you can save USS Obama (Aircraft Carrier). But if you didn't do it then USS Obama will sink and disable the defense if you kill Admiral Briggs
My tip: do not take the left or middle path, just keep right and move through the area slowly, just out of his vtols have all the units stay at a safe spot until you plant.
The Strike Force missions' design should've been used as the basis for the nighttime raid missions in MW2019. The night raids are only tense due to the atmosphere from the visuals and audio. Gameplay-wise, they're incredibly linear and play out the same way everytime. The Strike Force missions not only allow for more gameplay freedom since they have nonlinear objectives and you can freely switch between characters, but they also have more tension due to permadeath as well as the fact that your performance in them impacts the story. Imagine the night raids if the buildings had multiple entry points and routes, if you could switch between members of your squad, if civilian and enemy placement was randomized and if there was permadeath. That would elevate them completely.

I don't mind these missions, they're pretty interesting and made me wish for a Natural Selection 2 styled multiplayer, (I.e. two commander players supporting their ground troops to push forward) even if FOB Spectre was fucking hellish with the amount of Dragonfires
i found the mission is very easy in this mission is: -Shipwreck -Second Chance (Optional) -Dispatch I.E.D was OK,kinda stressfull but when you controlling the drone it's really cool FOB is soo long and the most stressfull call of duty missions
For me in order from easiest to hardest (at least on veteran): Second Chance I.E.D. Dispatch FOB Shipwreck (man was Shipwreck hard, and it got more difficult the longer it took)
Dude these missions were so epic, the thing that surprised me the most was if you died in these mission they actually, ya know stay dead. I liked the realism of that.
theses side missions i been doing yesrs ago was definitely a jump start back to my commander days since my bro and other bro are out what they are doing and all that experience having me the edge i need.
I loved the strike force missions, they made you feel like you were at war. This is how a battlefield campign should play, ofc with vehicles and the commander mode and fleshed out more
These missions had interesting concepts but were executed horribly. The controls were absolutely garbage. Easily the worst part of an otherwise great game.
I know these missions aren’t for everyone, but having strategy missions like this be pivotal on achieving the best ending only made it a chore for me to complete so I can say I completed it all the way. Now Cold War has a branching story as well and I’m just like “here we go again 🙄” Keep the branching story choices for RPGs, it doesn’t work for an FPS imo and I’m glad they made Strike Team it’s own game rather than keep pushing it in the console games
