The Flir and reapir are supposed to be able to be used like that. The Flir is supposed to even be able to go 1x and attach to a helmet mount for a monocular thermal
The same key being bound to both zoom and mode change is what has made the new thermals practically irrelevant for me. Too fiddly. And it's hard to beat the sugar barter for the Flir. Especially when you stock up early wipe, but even now, aquamari and sugar are a decently efficient hideout food, and you basically get a free thermal after using a bunch of them down to 1 point.
@@darkally1235 I wasn't talking about changing optics. You change the red hot/fusion modes on these scopes by cycling the zoom. 1x Red > 2x Red > 1x Fusion > 2x Fusion > 1x Red... Same thing goes for that one long range scope sniper scavs sometimes have on an SV-98. Really nice (for the price) scope, but you can light up the reticle, so every time you change the zoom you have to click it 3 times to go back to the one you started with, instead of just one click on a normal scope. Just a pain in the ass to deal with.
Zeus knife barter is locked behind broadcast 5 Also, one thing you didn't mention that can be a real issue at longer distance is the weird top to down refresh on both zeus and flir, which you can see clearly at 05:11, it messed up so many shots for me
yea that thing is really bad with the zeus. cant line up a perfect shot at range because the refresh rate appears to constantly move your crosshair down. its a very weird feeling.
@9:47 yes, bullet hits are hot (for some reason). Candles are another confusing heat source. You need to slow down your scanning when using a thermal because of the low refresh rate. You need to do a smooth pan, not whipping it around. The low refresh rate also makes it very difficult to hit targets moving side to side.
it actually makes sense how something able to notice candlefire from 350m does see heat of kinetic contact of bullet. And maybe some of heat from initial explosion pushing it if it didnt fly that far.
Nice one! You were just testing out the Echo the other day where you had a few surprise kills on Woods, and I guess it intrigued you enough to make a full video on them.
9:32 perfectly shows what thermal gameplay is like, actually had me laughing out loud. See something hot, start putting rounds into it, cant tell if whatever it is is dead or not so put another one in for good measure and even after the engagement is over you're still not even sure if you just spent 100k of ammo on a living person, a dead body or even just a hot bit of environment. Classic :D
Can you please do a video on Flashlight, Flashlight+Laser combos on how much they flash the vision of the opponent? Like, what's the difference between the Klesch, X400 and the Baldr Pro, other than their prices?
The refresh rate of the scopes has basically killed using any of them for me. They feel so bad when trying to shoot and I rarely hit targets at range. I tried the Zeus a couple times early wipe before the lock behind broadcast five and felt like complete garbage. The only semi useful one is the reapir and even that one still had still had some issues.
1:25 I've only recently picked up Tarkov again and also recently discovered your channel, so I'm not sure if shoulder-switching was in the game when this video was made, but using the T12W on a canted mount and left-shouldering your weapon seems like it could be good? Unfortunately can't test for myself at the moment. Oh what a glorious day it will be when somebody invents a canted mount that goes LEFT
I wanted to comment that you can have a pretty cool gameboy thermal setup on AKs, On a gun like the AK74M, or AKM, use the new SAG microsight side rail (the one that can only fit micro optics) put your thermal there, then replace the rear iron sight with the TT pic rail mount and use an eotech Exps3-0 (the tan one), then you can aim down the eotech, and under it you can have thermal vision!
With the armasight u are missing something about it that makes it worth the ledx every time (it lights up cultists like glowsticks, so long as you are on fusion mode)
not gona lie but the clip at the end showing that you could just wait outside the car extract and hop in last second therefore not needing to cave in your skull at the sign in front of it with hopes and dreams for 60 seconds witch was always my bigest complaint about car extracts probably will help me more than the entire rest of the video so basicaly what i want to say thank you for this video its contents shall help me greatly from now on and maby my in game caracter will even regrow his nose at the right spot for i shurly belive it was launchet deep into his skull by ithere the force i pressed that head against any amount of cover surounding one of those extracts or the amount of lead spontainiusly appering in the air
I would like to see your FPS counter when you use the thermal. I notice that when I use a couple of +4 mag scopes on woods I get a 20-30 FPS hit when zoomed. Do you notice a performance hit with the thermals?
@@ScoopzyDaizy I would think a Ryzen 9 5900x at 4.2Ghz, a Radeon RX6700xt, and 32GB of system memory should be more than adequate to run this game. The FPS drop doesn’t make sense to me. My computer may not be the bleeding edge of newest tech but it is plenty powerful enough to run any modern game without hard FPS drops while using a scope.
they need to buff all the refresh rates on thermals as well as the view distances tbh, atm there's not much reason to even use them and they all feel like shit to use
@gigabeef I am sorry that I'm that guy but 4:25, and you may already know this but it's my pet peeve so I have to point out that the phrase actually goes "hit or miss" not hit AND miss unless of course you are referring to me trying to aim with a thermal scope in which case it is mostly miss
in real life most of these thermal sights can be attached to a helmet mount as a form of thermal night vision. for a game that flaunts its "realism" and gear accuracy im surprised they haven't added these features
Ngl, I don’t find thermals being actually that useful especially given the current price they have. All though I see why someone would want to rock one of these on night woods or shoreline, still a pretty boring way of playing just sitting and scanning the area around you.
IR is not good in tarkov, we should have heat from ground / sunny places / places where players stayed. Here you just turn it on an see only players. It is closer than cheat rather than cool realistic IR
Yeah now you’re just having more things the game has to keep track of. Desync is tough enough trying to pinpoint where players are, now why also make it pinpoint where they used to be?
I've been using Echo for weeks now and have gotten used to it. Made me wonder if this will give me a bad habit considering target acquisition but it actually improved it with other scopes as well. I now use it with ARs as well.
Could be intentional because currently in game there isn't any hard counter to the Thermal sight. And before anyone says anything, SJ9 and SJ12 do not stack and SJ9 does not drop body temp low enough to be useful as a direct counter.
@@v4lhulme its most surely 100% a bug. if they wanted a counter to thermals they would add functional PMC clothing that is made to counter thermals. it's already half implemented, bags and such wont appear on thermal. usually you're looking for shoulders and legs as the torso and back are covered by rigs and bags
I use the Zeus on Fusion mode because with the proper post-fx setting it can be used with GPNVG helmet mounted night vision to great effect for huge night raiding.
Bought my first zeus from jager this wipe. Horrified to see they nerfed fusion into the ground. 2x now has a much lower resolution, and PMC's no longer glow with an aura, meaning you can't see them around corners anymore.
actually i did psycho sniper in 2nd try on factory using cheapest weapon ever VPO with AP-M rounds :D was much easier for me than SBIH or tarkov shooter part 8 where you have to kill with headshots
People might tell my how to use a rope but...I think thermal sights are better for killing at range, and night mode,I really dont like using them in close range and not the biggest fan at mid range
Hey giga i find that when i go into maps with a good set of gear, i get into lobbys with overall better gear compared to when I run naked, is this true?
@@thangluongviet6461 I was just doing zabralo factory and like everyone had chad suits, i then decided to go naked with some RIP rounds for leg meta and now every one is naked :((
