"It's yours now, I mean what are you gonna do?".. Well; For people who don't know this: This is perfectly fine. You haven't ruined it, and it's in fact an intended part of the design: IF you create a too good seal at a place where it isn't intended to be used the handle will fall off... IF the seal is complete so nothing inside move easily¹ then you wouldn't want to risk yanking your sink out of the wall... When the handle falls off, what you do is loosen the suction cup (easiest done by simply shimmy something in between the cup and the object it's attached to, so you can let some air in (I GUESS it's possible/likely that people working in a store may not know that this isn't you ruining the merchandise, but seriously you haven't) It's literally just the normal air-pressure (The pressure you are exposed to by being there). This can be a fun way to prove to yourself exactly how much pressure the air really exerts on ~everything~. TRY to pull it out by pulling it straight out. IF you get the suction cup to loose at all sides equally (No, don't yank it sideways, part of it loses grip before the other then you lost).. If you succeeded then you still won't have made a vacuum in there, so the differential of air-pressure is less than 1 bar.. (A BIT extra force to bend the rubber, and that rubber is rock hard.. no wait.. it isn't.. the force needed to stretch the rubber is minute by comparison).. and yes.. The force needed IS less than the force needed to pull the average bathroom sink out of the wall.
