All That Remains - Six Reaction!!! 

My parents were Jekyll and Hyde with talking back and with alot of other things(what can I say drugs and parenting don't mix well), mainly on my dad's side of things and only rarely with my mom. On a good day if I said a rule was stupid he would either ask me to explain why it is stupid and discuss what to do about it or he would just roll his eyes and dismiss me. On a bad day it was "don't talk back" yelled at me usually followed by a swift hit with his hand or a nearby object thrown at me. Eventually I learned when I could speak up, when to shut up, and how to read his good days and bad days. After experiencing both sides of that coin the explain why side is waaaaaay better if you ask me because it forced me to think through my reasoning and not just complain because something didn't go my way or I got caught doing something I shouldn't have been doing. Also Vin we are similar in that I have been told quite a few times I have a lot of patience with people and let a lot slide and not bother me, but I also have my limit and once it is reached its done. However I would not consider myself hard to get along with and would think you were not hard to get along with either because of one key thing. Communication. I am under the impression that you talk to people and communicate with them when lines are approached. If people listen to what I say to them and don't try and read into some nonexistent ulterior motive or think I am not being serious when I say I am it will be all good and I communicate that to people regularly. I say what I mean and mean what I say in most cases and have enough patience to usually communicate enough with someone to deal with the speed bumps we run in to along the way. Communicating with someone or listening isn't what I would call hard, now someone that doesn't communicate and doesn't listen is a person I would say is hard to get along with. The only thing I would admit that could make me hard to get along with is that once I am done I am exactly that, done. I don't waste my time, plenty of chances and oppurtunities were given before I got there so if I get to that point it's a wrap 99 times out of 100. So I guess that could be viewed as stubborn or cold or whatever but it is what it is at that point. Haven't commented on a video in awhile but I have been watching, work and life happened you know how it is, but glad to stop by again to post a novel in the comments lol and much love to you both.

Funny story, Phil (All That Remains' singer) was kicked out of Shadows Fall because he refused to do clean vocals. Now his career is defined by clean vocals. That's a thing you know now.

My favorite album of theirs. The drummer is sick. That double bass just going off. He is an underrated vocalist as well

This albumwas the soundtrack to high school for me. I love this shit to to this day. RIP Oli. Met that dude at Ozzfest the year (actually the week) this album dropped. Dude approached me because I was wearing my All That Remains shirt.

Man or woman even if their married if another one is mentally or physically abusive then LEAVE. I don’t care about if you already made the commitment, you don’t have to stay at all. It’s not quitting on them, it’s getting yourself out of a horrible situation that you don’t need to be in.

Ah the memories. This was the heaviest thing I had heard as a kid, and I had it on loop for a few weeks. Yet here I am now, listening to stuff like Cannibal Corpse, Thy Art, etc. Still love this song though.

Love when you do the local Massachusetts bands . The lead singer of all that remains was the original singer of shadows fall. When he was kicked out for Brian fair. They last show was opening for limp and the deftones at st.johns gym. In Clinton Massachusetts. Was lucky to see that show.

"Two Weeks"

This is the first heavier band I ever listened to. First heard them in 2006 when the Fall of Ideals came out when I was 10. They got me past Heavy Metal. Rip Oli.

One thing I love about all that remains is their vocalist Phil always makes thought provoking lyrics but he never says if the lyrics are about him or something related to him, he always leaves it up for interpretation. Really cool to see how people see the lyrics differently than others

Cool reaction! This is probably my all time favorite All That Remains song. It's got everything IMO! I think that The Fall of Ideals is one of the best metalcore albums to ever exist, and is definitely my favorite album from these guys. Oli sure left behind some masterpiece guitar work throughout the ATR discography!

This band went downhill pretty fast after this album, but this and This Darkened Heart are Metalcore masterpieces. And Oli Herbert (RIP) was a phenomenal guitar player. One of my favorites coming up learning the metal ropes. Nostalgic listening to this again.

Having gone through both extreme drug addiction and a massively abusive relationship. I believe that “Six” is mostly about the conquering of an abusive relationship. There’s a lot that drags you back to certain relationships, but it’s all about getting beyond that threshold that you no longer need it. An abusive relationship is a lot like a drug addiction, because they both slowly creep into your life....

Addiction is addiction regardless if it's a chemical or person. I'm not very chemically dependant as aperson but I have a hard time letting go of connection rgardless of it's toxicity. To my own detriment. Much like chemical addiction but of the emotional pursuation.

If it's toxic, just bounce, speaking from experience. There are times relationships can be worked on but sometimes one partner is unwilling to change or just doesn't value the relationship or the partner. Each relationship has it's unique set of circumstances. Also if a couple has kids they want to consider how their relationship will effect their child's/or children's relationships later in life. Sometimes we mirror what we've been exposed to. My exes and I had our own issues but after ending those relationships I can say it was for the best. My son lives far far away but I was able to have him visit last summer. It sucks but atleast we still are able to keep our bond thanks to technology. I remember first hearing this song in college(I feel old ha) and wildin' out at a friend's when I found out it was on guitar hero lol. That was back when I was a beginner on real guitar. That intro riff tho.🤘 That man was a dope guitarist. I always like the chemistry you two display here lol
