Let's find a partner for the Thoth Tarot! I'm experimenting with various oracle decks to find the perfect match for the Thoth. I thought the Carly Simon quote was cute & fitting. Buckle in, this is a long one.

What a wonderful way to spend the morning. I love your process videos. You thinking out loud about these possible partnerships was so interesting. It gave me some ideas about my own practice with the Thoth. I too, have not partnered it with anything. I’ve been thinking about Outgrow Yourself, Sacred Destiny, and The Earthbound Oracle, as possible contestants for my Dating Game session. I’ve definitely paired with Outgrow Yourself, but because it is Thoth inspired it felt like an extension rather than a partner. I have those two oracles as well. I might try them. Thanks for watching!

It’s interesting that some decks have multiple pairings but Thoth is in a category if it’s own! I’ve been pairing it with Brian Froud’s Faeries Oracle and they look great together and also give really profound messages.

Marlene - Thoth wants to be a bachelor. The only pairings here that worked were the word sides of the Power Deck and the Rumi Oracle. I think the Thoth imagery is too loud and proud to share the stage with anyone else. The Hero’s Journey you mentioned *might* work, or the Margaret’s Petersen, the Haindl, Soul Cards or the Primordial Tarot. Maybe. Or something completely different like the Empath’s oracle - I have that, it’s very abstract and minimal.

(I wish I could edit posts here) I have most of these tucked away in my office in my “not using right now” stoa Rage, including the Thoth - I will pull them out and do a comparison but it will be a few days

i dont own either deck but ive always thought that the spirit doodle cards by space between the notes would pair well with the thoth. they have a very similar color pallet going on and the abstract art work of the spirit doodle complements the surrealism of the thoth quite nicely. even their backs kind of match, they both have an orange-y brown color to them

size difference might be an issue tho. spirit doodle is about the size of the nature wisdom cards
