Never underestimate how self destructive a fool can be! Had a sailor under me a few years back that was getting separated by the navy when the branch was downsizing. He was getting 80K in sep pay, so not too bad. He was so toxic that I flat out told him for his last month, just show up in the morning to muster and you can leave right after that. He was so disgruntled that he decided to say fuck it and went Unauthorized Absence for 2 weeks straight. CO ended up busting him down a paygrade with two weeks left on his contract, which altered his sep pay, so instead he only got 22K! Biggest bag fumble I've ever seen in person!

So I am a resident of Albany County and we were so hopeful and optimistic about AB coming to the city. I went to a game and he actually took the time to talk to the kids and sign for them. As the weeks went on it was crazy to see him destroy the Albany Empire & any good will he may have had with the capital region. He also made empty promises on local events, beefed with local reporters. It was a crazy thing to witness in real time.

That's not surprising. He has six kids (five living). These stupid athletes don't seem to understand that child support doesn't stop or get lowered when your career ends. It gets set based on your income as a "rich guy" and when you're retired you're still going to be paying that same $20,000/month every single month on every single child that you did when you were earning $50 million/year. Tyreek Hill is going to be broke within two or three years of leaving the league for the same reason. He had like six kids just in the last year or so. Is he going to still be playing in the league in 10 years? 18 years from now? Of course not. He's already 30, ancient for a WR. He's got MAYBE 2 years left. His kids won't even be in preschool when he retires and he has to pay probably $30,000/month for each of them for another 16 years after that. 🤣😆

They're used to men trying to squirm out of it by hook or by crook and with 10,000 excuses of why they can only pay $5/month. They tend to be a very suspicious, cynical bunch. Family Courts are notoriously unfair. Men who are literally living on the pavement and sleeping on park benches have not been able to have their child support obligations lessened or paused and have gone to jail for non-payment.

And if you win the lawsuit and it’s deemed I owe you $8000, and I never pay it, I’m not gonna go to jail for that. Instead, you’ll have to go back to court and show that I haven’t paid it, and your next action is to try to garnish my wages. And if you get that successfully done, which isn’t easy, and I said to hell with it, I’m just not gonna work so you can’t garnish my wages, you’re out the money. I don’t go to jail though. I mean, just look at all the people who owe on school loans and personal loans or credit card debt who have defaulted, they don’t go to jail, they get sued and get their wages garnished, and possibly their their taxes.But if they’re unemployed and make zero payments they don’t go to jail for it. Their credit will be destroyed and they won’t be able to get loans for anything, possibly pay more in insurance and won’t be able to get a decent place to live, but no jail time.

Every athlete contract can basically be cut in half through taxes and various agent fees, unless they're in Florida/Texas. Even then only games played IN Texas/Florida are subject to no state tax. So Mahomes' $500M contract is essentially $250M after tax, but before other fees.

I get that everyone should know that various taxes come in to play with a players contract, but the reason a lot of people take the guaranteed money at face value is simply because whether it be $500million or $250million after tax....it is still an amount of money that should mean you can live comfortably for the rest of your life!!! and thats not even taking into account sponsorships, appearances on TV or other media....hell even in Browns case his rap "career"s effect on total income. Its applying the same logic as a person would apply to their own job. They don't state their salary as $35,000 after tax....they will say its $45,000(I'm from the UK so tax amounts in America are completly alien to me so not sure this is accurate maths).

The problem a lot of people don’t understand how the nfl works. Since the NFL is salary cap driven and draft picks go to the worst gets first pick a team. Think of it like a stock trade. The stock can be very volatile and swing high and low (see 49ers). Or the stock can remain flat in the middle no big losses or gains (see Seahawks , stealers). Basically the worst position to be in the NFL is in the middle because that exactly where they will stay. There is always exceptions to the rule but there are circumstances that always apply to that exception. (See patriots, chiefs). Because their QBs took huge team friendly deals (the exception) those teams were able to capitalize and remain contenders for sustained long periods (no huge drops in contention).

AB's bad behavior started some time after he took a horrific blow to the head. His antics (and worse) are typical of CTE. Unfortunately it can only be diagnosed at autopsy, which I have a feeling won't be too far in the future.

At this point, I don't know if he even makes it in considering he's been nothing but a black eye for the league for ages. Like, I know OJ's still in the HoF, but he was inducted *before* everything he did. Statistically, he deserves it, but I don't know if he gets the votes he needs, especially considering we're still three years away from him being eligible and that's plenty of time to get in even more trouble.
