Fun Fact: In the miniatures game for ASOIAF, the developers were legally obliged to make sure you couldn't use Benjen Stark in the same army as Coldhands. "Read into that what you will" the lead developer said.

The two Freys who were with Wyman Manderley in the fifth book went missing on the way to Winterfell. There’s a theory the Wyman had them murdered and baked into the two large pies he servers at Winterefell

I remember Stonesnake! I doubt he'll show up again in the story, nor was he ever one to have a lot of impact, but he is one of those characters I've wondered about

Honestly, I don’t have a lot of faith in Stonesnakes survival. I have taken up climbing & mountaineering as a hobby, and the number of experienced climbers with ultra-modern gear that disappear and aren’t found (or years later) is striking. Now, climbing alone in winter with medieval gear? I suspect he slipped, had a rock land on his head, or got plain old hypothermia, and his body is in a hard to acces location and thus never found. But who knows, maybe one Nights Watch man will one day blow a single blast for Stonesnake returning

Great video. In the reader's perspective Edric Storm isn't lost. However Stannis has zero idea where he's at. Then there's Ned Dayne, whom hasn't been mentioned since Lady Stoneheart popped up!

Though Meraxes was shot down by a scorpion bolt, during the First dornish War, it wasn't clear historically what happened to her rider Queen Rhaenys Targaryen.

My favourite theory was that the Dornish retrieved her from beneath Meraxes and kept her alive long enough for her to beg for peace between the Targaryen's and Dorne (probably through pain/poison torture/promise of mercy). Keep in mind he went to Dorne, made peace, and never set foot in Dorne again while he lived...

Three went with jon and quorin, one stayed behind and held them off, one was captured wnd killed, stonesnakes horse broke its leg so he was sent by quorin to gk over the mountains to try and warn the rest of the nightswatch at the fist

Surprised you missed Syrio Forel. In the books he's only ever mentioned once after the end of Arya's pov chapter and it's just Meryn Trant saying that the only reason the Stark girl escaped was because he got in the way. He never states that he killed or captured Syrio, just that Syrio impeded him, leading to numerous theories to this day. I know George has been quite dismissive about the question, wondering why so many people are so interested in the fate of such a minor character, but he's also never given any definitive response to it either which I find suspect.

I think GRRM is dismissive of Syrio inquiries because in his mind it is clear Syrio was killed by Meryn even if the text doesn’t explicitly say so. I happen to agree with him. If Meryn is alive and well, how could Syrio have escaped?

@@DJMavis That's part of it but people were wondering about it well before. There were theories ranging from him simply escaping and being on the lam, the dude is an expert in speed and finesse and had just taken down a room full of guards with a stick, who's to say he couldn't outrun or outmaneuver one more dude decked out in full plate mail, to theories that he's just locked in the black cells to theories that he and Jaquen H'gar are one in the same hence why the red cloaks were able to catch a faceless man at all and why he was always looking out for Arya on the way to the wall.

I wonder if Lynna had twins and one looked more like a targaryen so Ned couldn't pretend it was his. So he gave it to the Daynes since thier son died defending it. Prompting the fake death to care for the kid in hiding

Hallis Mollen is also a lost character. He was last seen sending Ned's bones to Winterfell, but he never arrived. This was confirmed in a Theon chapter in ADWD.

Technically Arthur Dayne, Gerold Hightower, and Oswell Whent are only missing as well. Many have theories, I kinda hope for it a bit myself just to screw with the showrunners crap ending. Ned dreamed "They had been 7 against 3, yet only 2 had lived to ride away." 2 of 10 total, or 2 of the 7? The opening line would hint at the 7. There is someone who spent a lot of time breaking this down but the article he titled it under is called: "Liar, Liar, A Song of Ice and Fire" and its an amazing take and thoroughly unique break down regardless of what ends up in Winds or if we even get a Winds.

Howland Reed was with Ned Stark at the tower of joy, and he is alive by the start of the series, so we know that the surviving two are Ned and Howland. Also even if you were right it couldnt be all three (Arthur, Gerold and Oswell) it can only be one of them since the other survivor is Ned. but yeh screw the show edit: just read the article and now I understand what you mean.

Hey, I'm with you. We know that Ned Stark, while he doesn't live up to his reputation as one of the greatest fighters in the land, is an above-decent swordsman who held his own against Jaime Lannister. So how on earth did he and Howland Reed defeat Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning/wielder of Dawn, in combat? This is the guy who people still consider to have been the greatest swordsman alive. I think it's more likely that something was arranged between them. Arthur could even still be alive.

Personally, I don't see the Black Fish heading back to the Vale. I see him trying to rescue Jayne Westerling, as Robb had placed him in charge of her protection. So as long as there is time and opportunity I cannae see him doing anything else as long as there remains the possibility of saving/rescuing her.

Darkstar attempted to kill Myrcella ONLY if we except what Doran Martell says, which within the text seems unlikely as the sand snakes seem rather baffled at this claim. Tyene even says "Darkstar? Why not?" While giggling. It's likely that Doran's informant (whoever ratted on Arianne's plan) did the deed and it was pinned on Gerold Dayne.

Maege mormont . Not years in wourld the whole series takes place in 3 year's. Less than a year and she isn't alone galbert Glover is with her and a small army. And there are hints , she made it , ( her daughter and some men ate with stannis and lynna helped stannis when she said she wouldn't before.
