Yes! My thoughts exactly where are all these business men, politicians or police that were bribed? They threw us one little cop for getting concert tickets! Where are the ones who took cash money and raped the women?! In Korea corruption and bribery is nothing new. Men and money come first just like everywhere else in the world. The celebs are the ones they're focusing on in the news because Kpop idols are a dime a dozen in Korea they are expendable.
The celebs have a more "shiny and attractive" name which attracts the public's attention. Revealing police involvement exposes corruption and the backing and involvement of big people and possible politicians or people in the government involved in the justice department.

I feel so horrible for the parents and Roy's father specifically. He removed Roy Kim's name off his professional profile while the daughter is still there. May netizens, friends, students, acquaintances and anyone who comes in contact or writes about this PLEASE treat the families of these entitled cretins as another group of their victims and show kindness and restraint. The pain their parents must be unbearable.
Not sure if their strategy is to release names slowly until the public is fed up... I have a feeling that there are much BIGGER names pending ... I'm talking about non celebrity ... Like CEO and government officials.
Idk if this applies in SKorea but I'm a Communication Studies major and my bestfriend is in Journalism. The rule in our country when publishing names in reports involving criminal activities is that we can write and report about everything and anything they did, but until they have been officially called into court for investigation, it would be libel to publish their names. So that's probably why they're releasing names one by one. Reporters and their company would be violating the ethical codes of conduct as well as being sued if they publish the names before those people are called by the court.

Okay, Eddy Kim really surprised me! Especially because of his songs and lyrics (which he composed and wrote himself) I always thought of "The Manual" as an example/instruction of how to make a girl feel special and loved without involving sex and he actually wrote those lyrics himself. This is so confusing and it makes me so sad and angry! AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!

It's just that their connections to JJY revealed their unrelated crime during the investigation. In Korea, gambling is considered illegal and their bet was in the gray area between a small one-time bet and gambling because they are rich and bet $$$$. As an American, yeah, I'm gonna think some of Korea's laws are weird (as in like any law that makes an action illegal even OUTSIDE of their borders)...but the law is the law. With Park Bogum...he is associated with a very suspicious cult-like church and is very gung-ho about it...so obviously I think many people are very uncomfortable promoting him because they don't want to promote that church. And it's not just like a normal church. He was born into a cult because of his parents and he believes his life was saved because the cult leader blessed him. He feels like he owes his life to this leader. And that's not some normal church stuff. When you start bringing up the concept of faith healing as in you heal illnesses by like praying and touching people...you enter scam cult territory. The church, knowing how popular he is, has made him the face and uses him to lure his fans into their religion. Since the general consensus in Korea is that this church is a cult, obviously advertisers don't wanna even touch anything associated with it with a 10-ft pole. Like I'm sure Park Bogum is a nice dude, but he's unfortunately associated with a cult. People don't like cults or suspicious churches and religious leaders because strange shit happens when they're involved (aka physical and sexual abuse, excommunication, scamming people of money, etc.)
I can't believe Lee Jong Hyun would do this. His dramas were some of my all time favorites, and to think all this time he was involved in this group chat is disgusting and infuriating. I hope more members of the JJY group chat are revealed and justice is served.
I wasn’t surprised with Eddy Kim because in a Radio Star episode about the golden phone, JJY and the hosts talked about him spending more time in clubs than focusing on his music.

Man I really hope Kang In and Lee Chul Woo's statements/company statements are true. I feel bad for 2AM and SuJu. But why release their names if there is no concrete evidence that they were a part on Seungri's group chat? That makes me think the police or reporters are hiding the true names, especially since the police isn't going to investigate them. Man, I am so confused. And worried. I really don't want to see more huge groups get ruined by this.
ChimTae Icefire I believe it’s a diversion to try and cover up the higher ups who were involved in this whole mess. Keep throwing out famous people to hide the true bigger people involved. I do believe Kangin and Lee Chul Woo’s statements to be true. JJY was never shown to be friends with Kangin, only that they did one show together like three years ago, so it makes sense that the whole cast would have a group chat for the duration of the show filming and not use it afterwards if no actual friendships were made. And since the police themselves said they have no intention of investigating them it would seem their statements are truthful.

About him being in a group chat with JJY but not clarifying that it wasn’t THE CHAT ROOM (the one with all the illegal videos). To get a buzz going, for clicks (the media, teenagers and anti fans) and outrage most likely. You’d be surprised. There’s other scandals going on that aren’t getting the same coverage.

It's not bc the police isn't investigating them further that they weren't part of one of the incriminating gc. Technically the police can't do anything against them as long as they only watch the videos and didn't distribute any themselves. It's not illegal in korea to only watch the videos. Only the guys who filmed and distributed spycams themselves are getting charged. The passive gc members won't get in any trouble (even though they should). I believe the police wouldn't be releasing their names if they weren't part of one of the incriminating gc. It wouldn't be ok to bring up their names if they were part of a total different gc that had nothing to do with it. Their public statements sound like damage control... Idk I don't trust anybody anymore :/
He's fine. But he has a dispute with LM Entertainment because they violated Daniel's exclusive contract with them. The case is still in process but we don't have much information about it. It's because I request him to talk about this :(
Eddie Kim was one of my favourite soloists. His songs made me sad but after hearing this news and listening to his songs again, I wanted to cry more because I felt so betrayed.

Thank you for the up-dates! Maybe the reason why the police department releases the names as they gather hard evidence on individuals' involvement with the case. Probably, they just want to make sure that this case is not going to be haphazardly investigated.

This is just so sad. I think the entire system is partly at fault for the perverse way these young men respond to women and sexual encounters They are not allowed to mature in a normal way, by not allowing them to have normal dating encounters when they are younger, and then they are let loose without guidance or supervision when they are older is just tragic . The lot of them need psychiatric help and attention.
My guess is that they reveal slowly for 2 reasons. 1, to update when they can to avoid mass hysteria by speculation and rumors and 2, they absolutely can NOT mess this up so they might need a very strict protocol before releasing something. If they would release a wrong name it really drag their badge in the mud.
I’m not a fan of the police releasing names of celebrities they are not planning to investigate. Even if they are saying they are not guilty of a crime, having their names released in relation to this scandal at all is going to have an effect on their reputation. It also feels like a distraction/ pacifying tactic. They are not releasing the information on people involved in coverups or other related information, so they are throwing out irrelevant names to attempt to satisfy the public. It feels shady to me
Altho I am glad they are revealing these names so that we as music fans know what singers to stay away from, I do think it's odd they are releasing the names of people who were just in work group chats with jjy. The guy was on so many shows, he must have been in dozen group chats. Does that mean all of those people who simply worked with him are also guilty? It seems ridiculous.

Yong Junhyung reportedly saw a video and had inappropriate convos with JJY in a 1 on 1 chat. I thought he was not in the group chat? Of course 1 on 1 chat doesn’t make the fact that he ignored JJY’s actions any better, but the level of involvement for each person is still important. Did I read something wrong? I thought he wasn’t in it. If he wasn’t involved in the group chat, please fix that error. Yes, they all did bad things... but I still believe in being fair. It’s hurtful to give false information about someone being involved in something so sensitive. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
