A film classic based on Washington Post reporters Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward's best-selling novel, "All The President's Men".
A true story about the infamous Watergate break-in / scandal in which most of the Nixon administration were later found guilty of corruption and attempting to sabotage the Democratic National Committee during the United States presidential election campaign of 1972.
Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford effectively portray reporters, turned investigative journalists, Bernstein and Woodward (respectively) with arresting impact.
The film's cerebral and haunting soundtrack was composed by David Shire.
It strongly adds to the atmosphere of mystery throughout this superb political thriller, surrounding the viewer with curiosities that are concealed in shadows down the spindly damp trails of goverment espionage and covert operations while at the same time being hunted down by two determined and committed newspaper reporters, who eventually mature into Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalists.
