I love the forclaz trek100 down jackets. Great jacket for the price but in the UK you have to go up one size, so I'm a L but I need a XL. I have 3 of them, Great vid guys.
A suggestion: Try placing an emergency blanket on the bottom of your tent before putting your mats and sleeping bags down. Very lightweight, cheap and gives good insulation from the ground. Also reflects light from a torch back up making the tent lighter inside on those dark mornings/evenings.
That is a great hack, have to give it a try the next time especially now that the weather is getting colder. One question: can you use it only once like that or it is reusable?
@@WalkingNatureWorld I have a dedicated one for sleeping on and use it many times before it eventually tears to much to continue to be used, but I’ve more than had my money worth out of it by then and just replace it as it is cheap. Be careful when unfolding and re-folding it to extend its life. It’s worth going for the larger size ones to give the extra width, but as there are two of you two standard size blankets side by side might give full coverage of your tent floor.
@@bluebellcrushedvelvet If using it as a heat reflector for the bottom of your tent to reduce heat lost to the ground, it can be used many times. Expensive inflatable sleeping mats like Thermarest have heat reflective foil or similar inside them to increase the R value to reduce the heat lost to the ground. You need to be careful when opening and folding it up to make it last a long time, but it will fold up fairly small (not quite as small as a brand new one though). When it's worn out or torn too much, just get another, but you'll have had your money's worth out of it by then.
I ve got from Decthlon a microfiber towel, a rain poncho, a backpack, hiking shoes, sport shirts, swimsuit, I think some more things too, everything had a budget price and was very durable and long lasting. I cary in my backpack some extra clothes, a rain poncho, a survival blanket from Decathlon like yours, flip flops, gas stove, cutlery and pot, a plastic water bottle and some toilettries.
Well, then you almost have the identical list of stuff as we have:)) That's exactly why we like it so much for the good quality items you get a very reasonable price.
Thanks guys for the insights as always , myself and my partner hike and mountaineer too and we love decathlon , unfortunately the selection in the UK is not as great as in Europe , we were amazed when we saw what was available in European stores ,In the Dolomites in Italy people had Decathlon gear that you cant see in UK stores .. Keep up the god work guys
Thank you for the comment, we are sorry to hear your Decathlon selection is not that great, we weren't aware of that. Hopefully you still will be able to buy some stuff when you are in Europe. Glad you found our video useful, it is our pleasure:)
@@WalkingNatureWorld My partner is Russian Latvian with a Ukrainian grandfather, im Zimbabwean , and once more keep up the great work , most of the things i have ordered for Decathlon are because of you guys
@@shannonbilger5301 That's incredible to hear it is helpful for you, let us know if you have any further questions arising. Hope your start in backpacking will be enjoyable!:)
@@WalkingNatureWorld it does! been using all sorts of equipment from Decathlon too.. and i'm happily subbing to you guys' channel, keep adventuring ya!
Hey!! My favourite decathlon (I think you need to pronounce is deCAthelon) item is my backpack!! It's amazing!! It's the forclaz 500 women's backpack!! 50:60 L!! It's amazing!!! So many pockets to organise, great system to open from the front with side pockets on top of the mesh pockets, AND a fantastic bottle holder at the right angle on one side to help reach for it and tightening mechanism to hold it all in one hand!! I absolutely love it! It looks beautiful and it is so functional and comfortable!! 10/10 from me! I don't feel like I need to upgrade in the future! 😊😊😁
@@bluebellcrushedvelvet That's because English speakers are stupid, they don't realize there are other languages in the world. Decathlon is a Greek word. They pronounce it right.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad you found it helpful. We actually used only two sleeping bags for now the Aegismax Ultralight and Forclaz bags from Decathlon that we show here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HPR0tiXT-m0.html&lc=Ugw11795eyE-WO7tx-d4AaABAg.9L2ftrXxUZ99L3jTzx1Qgx This year we have to test the warmer ones from Aegismax also Nano 2 model. Overall we are pretty happy with Aegismax bags and can recommend them, they are budget, light and decent quality. We have our bags the third year now of active use.
All of my hiking/bike touring cloths are from Decathlon also. Only problem with polyester is that it sticks quickly. FYI, "cloths" is pronounced like "close".
Thanks a lot! We hiked in Dolomites, Tuscany and Liguria and Aosta. Partly we camped in the campgrounds when it was available and wild camped in the fields too. Sometimes it was challenging as it is a lot of private property in Italy, we share all of our impressions about travelling in Italy in the separate video if you're interested, you can watch it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nsqjTDRA6aI.html
Video is good but too much background noise like ringing bells in a temple kind of thing….can barely hear you guys speak and it’s really hurting my ears! Am skipping the video…sorry guys…
