I expected the Denjin change to already be great, but this is like an early Christmas for Ryu mains who don't get tempted by the Satsui no Hadou.

They buffed my man RYU so much and I'm not complaining 😂 Sesson 2 RYU let's gooo !

Finally ryu got what he deserved. He will never succumb to power of dark hadou and boy is strongest in street fighter universe

maaaan they gave ryu some crazy drive gauge chip ... after light tatsu -> 5lp frame kill you can meaty OD Hashogeki , be +8 on block, 2hp chain into light hasho and net more drive meter than the opponent lost ... great in the corner ... you'll be -3 but pretty safe way to really put the pressure on ... ETA if the OD Hasho connects you can super 1 on reaction or target combo + denjin and stay plus

I was already happy with the hasho and denjin changes. I did not expect such a HUGE list of changes. Even the TC change was more thorough than I thought.

The pushback on light kick is supposed to be used as a follow up tool for crouching medium kick if you don't have Drive gage, or go not want to use it for a small 1 2 3 combo into Tatsu or donkey kick. Also its a pain trying to apply mixup pressure with a low leg kick that moves you out of range for applying pressure on cornered opponents. Usually if your standing with Ryu they're less likely to expect the light kick. Its a very underrated button imo

If you hit the opponent with a light fireball at around round start range, you can combo into drive rush sweep

Awesome, at 19:18 after the target combo denjin charge if think you're +9 so buffered m.p whiffs, to get the +2 on block it needs to be manually timed to leave a one frame gap after the denjin charge.

I’m not a stranger to Street Fighter but I am a stranger to FGC. I have no idea of the lingo used like frame talk or okie tactics. But for some me reason, watching channels like this is relaxing for me. Watching cooking channels has the same effect for me. It’s just this channel is cooking awesome combos.

I been play akuma for the last 6 hours and man he a beast but his combos are pretty insane and has too many to learn. The beauty of street fighter is you will spend many many hours fine tuning your execution and timing.

Ryu is super cold right now!! Akuma is the truth too, ill play around with him once i get time to really hit the lab. But ryu will always be my guy.

Back heavy kick change is huge, I used to try anti airing Kimberly teleports with it but the 2nd hit would whiff. Now they will eat crap with that. I didn't think I'd try Ryu with Akuma out, but some of the changes are really cool.

I still want that 7 frame mk kick and Medium punch to be plus 1 but I am very appreciative of all the buffs listed

17:01 this buff is a game changer. I went from hardly using the Denjin Charge to using that combo to get that going in most of my matches

Before EX Denjin Hasho was buffed to 1000 damage, it used to do 600. They're curtailing its damage now simply because of how much more often we'll be able to hit the move now that we have the option to not spend Denjin (because let's be honest, 1000 damage was ridiculously Drive efficient lol), BUT it is only nerfed to 800 damage so we're still better compared to the release version of the game.

Really happy with these changes. One combo that doesn't work anymore is the ex tatsu< drive cancel

Thank you for the video machoor. These are all good buffs and changes. I think he will move up to around b+ or a- tier, but I don't think he will be a solid a or a+ character because a lot of his normals in neutral are still just pretty mediocre at best. They're not bad, but they're just painfully average. You can never truly get a fair neutral hit confirm to convert in to anything meaningful. A lot of Ryu's tools still require the opponent to mess up in order for Ryu to be able to capitalize on his combos and damage output. He doesn't have the insane corner carry that ken has, he doesn't have the insanely broken hitboxes and frames that Luke has, he doesn't have the broken abilities like sway that Dee jay has, he doesn't have meaty projectiles like guile and ed, and worst of all he still has a very sub par drive rush speed (he can't follow up with a slow fireball). All of the top tier characters have something so fundamentally broken about them that it transcends the game itself. They basically break the game. Ryu still doesn't have any of this. Getting Denjin is still a hassle. You still have to sacrifice Oki in order to get it even if you use the new target combo conversions. You have to be in the corner to really make it count, like with what you showed in the video. And even then, you still have to work so hard to get a hit confirm so that you can just land a od Denjin Hasho. Ryu is eating good, but all of his normals are still too average. In this case, it will be the person who pilots Ryu that will depend if he is a good character or not.

Re-watching it again to practice in sync with it. And stream a bit early today.

Tunny thing is, i was already using the target combo stop halfway despite being - 7 cuz some people wait for the kick or respond with the wrong normal But now that is actually safe and useful hell yeah ama spam it

They gave my boy back his crouching mk into EX Hadouken into Super 1(without wall). Textbook 3rd Strike Ryu confirm. I'm loving these buffs. More 3rd Strike Ryu buffs please lol.

Bro but the st hp heavy hashogeki into rush Target and charge into st mp +2 is not a setup, you have to manually dellay the st mp and it’s really hard
