So very helpful. I’ve noticed a lot of girls that have “curtain bangs” have super long ones that aren’t even bangs but more so a short layer of hair they style in a bang way which didn’t help me as mine are actually bangs similar to yours. My hairstylist always makes my hair look so amazing and then I go home and can never recreate anything even close. Appreciate this so much!
I tried the long curtain bangs since I was too scare to go shorter. The next time I got my done my hair stylist recommended to go shorter to the height of my cheekbones. I ended up loving them short and styling them
Curtain bangs are so easy to DIY not sure how that hairdresser fucked your hair so bad. Sorry you had to go through that. But now all of us with terrible bangs can learn how to fix them! Silver linings
This. This is legit amazing. I will not say how LONG my bangs took this morning. I NEEDED the sailor moon technique. Bless you. I cannot handle a round brush for whatever reason.
As someone with longer curtain bangs, the way I “style” mine is just tucking them behind my ears while my hair air dries. It gives them a nice, soft curve and I think it looks really pretty and not too intense, not to mention no heat involved! ❤️
So refreshing to see someone else has a side of hair that doesn’t cooperate like the other side! Thank you for the deep explanations in this video, I have fresh (shorter) curtain bangs and it’s awesome to have so many options!
I love how carefully you explain things and even demonstrate how the brush or flat iron should be moved before it is in the hair, that makes it so much easier to see and understand.
Thank you SO MUCH from someone whose freshly growing their hair for the first time in YEARS and has ZERO clue on what to do with my curtain bangs, this and your velcro roller video has been a massive lifesaver omfg
Today was a BAD day for my curtain bangs, but now I'm actually looking forward to styling them tomorrow. I can't wait to try the "unicorn horn" technique with my flat iron.
You're a Saint. Tyvm for taking the time to make this video for ppl that are struggling to find the right technique for their newly cut curtain bangs like myself. ❤
OMG THANK YOU!! I got curtain bangs last summer, and have never been able to get them "curtain-y." Turns out, as I learned from this video, it's because I've been styling them to hide into my hair! Can't wait to play with these options and see which works best for me!
Thank you so much for this! I just got curtain bangs and I was under the impression that they would look automatically good😭 I didn’t realize that I’d have to style them, so I really appreciate all the different comprehensive methods! I just tried the curling iron method and my bangs finally look good, so thank you so so much!!❤️❤️❤️
I wanted to leave this comment. I haveong struggled with my bangs, and like other said in the comments other girls practically have no bangs but just layered a little in the front and call it curtain bangs. Your hair is the most similar to mine and no other tutorials work for me :( I followed your tips using flat iron one and it works like magic, I've never like my bangs this much before! Thank u so much!!!!❤
I have watched so many curtain bangs styling videos and none have actually worked for me... Most videos demonstrate with longer bangs which is not really how mine are and made the process quite daunting and difficult. Your style with the straightener and curling iron did wonders and I couldn't be more thankful!! It has been a whole month since I cut the bangs and only now, I have managed to style them as I wanted. Massive thank you!!!
As a person with fairy new to bangs in general thank you SO MUCH i hated wash days because of not knowing how am i supposed to get those proper curls and went mad every time i tried it. Your tutorial really helped me out here ❤️❤️❤️
Literally am a hairstylist with bangs and didn’t know of the Sailor Moon method! I just sold my bang problem and haven’t ever love them more 🙏 thank you for doing your research and sharing! ❤️
i use to have the soft airy/see through/somewhat blunt layered bangs but i grew them out. i was going to cut this again but then cv19 hit and i was like hell naw lol
I will be getting curtain bangs in about a year when they’re long enough (right now my bangs are above my eyebrows) but I’m so excited to try these different techniques! Also, CREASELESS hair clips?! I didn’t know those existed until you showed them off! I want to get some! 😊
Omg life saveeeer! I’ve had curtain bangs for almost two months now, I’ve styled them over 1000 times and have only actually worn them out maybe twice I’ve regretted getting them ever since but just trying one of your methods and I’m actually loving them! Thank you soo much!!
I have “normal” bangs, but it took me YEARS to develop a consistent routine. Trust me guys, if it feels like your bangs never behave, they will one day!! Just keep trying!!
You should try styling curtain bangs with a side part! I have long grown out curtain bangs, but I hate having my hair in a center part, and any time I try to style them with a side part, they look funny.
I think the reason why it's center part is because curtain bangs are supposed to be symmetrical on both sides. A side part would make it asymetrical which is why it looks weird
I think you would style them in sections dictated by where you part your hair. Just one section will be bigger to account for the part being on the side. Whatever hot tool or clips you use would have the hair swooping to the sides on a similar manner. I have about jaw-chin length grown out side swept bangs, so I play around with how much curl i do with round brush or flat iron. Clips are still good, but I'll swoop and pin those sections either to the mid back of my head bc they are long, or make a tight swirly C shape on the sides of my head and pin them down. And you can tug at the root to loosen it so it's not pinned totally flat to your scalp. Another trick is I'll make the sailormoon C/spiral shape but have it oriented in a swoop away from my face and press it in the flat iron as I'm holding it. Just play around with it 👍 Edit: also make sure you don't have "curtain" bangs that are being parted to the side. They need to be cut as side swept bangs because the shortest pieces of hair should frame your hair part. Curtain bangs for center part and side swept for side parts. Very similar hair cuts but makes a difference. I don't know if this is your situation, but for anyone reading ✌
I got curtain bangs probably about 4 months ago and had NO CLUE what I was doing! I use my Revlon blow dryer/styler in one, pull my bangs forward and blow dry like you did in the first method and it work like a charm every time!!
Just so you know, the flat iron round brush technique is life altering. You are sent from god thank you. As a girly who’s right bangs never cooperate, this amazing. Literally wish you everything. I hope you win the lottery or smtn. THANK YOU!!!!!
thanks for all of this. i had my hair done yesterday and asked for the curtain bangs... i didn't get what i asked for and my hair is super uneven like yours. basically exactly what happened to you. thank you so much for this. patience is a virtue ahaha.
Same my hairstylist made it so uneven she didn’t even touch it up after the cut- I need a new hair stylist but idk how, and I think I’d do a much better job cutting it on my own with a tutorial 😑 SHE ALSO GAVE ME AND MY FAMILY COVID RIGHT BEFORE SCHOOL STARTED
Kayley got curtain bangs so I got curtain bangs and now I am here again watching a video I didn't realize I needed until trying to style them yesterday
I love curtain bangs, I got them in early December but the hairdressers are closed here in Ireland now because of lockdown! Excited to get them cut again, I’ll be rewatching this when I do 💖
LOVE THIS!! Seriously so great and informative. I really appreciate how you covered different tools and techniques. Those Velcro rollers are giving me flashbacks to my mom in the early 2000's.
This video just took me from regretting to loving my curtain bangs, thank you!! Do you have a tutorial for how you get your loose curls/waves? Love the style!!
I NEEDED this video, thank you. I had long curtain bangs, very subtle and easy. I FINALLY was able to get a haircut last week and my stylist cut them a wee bit shorter and thicker and BAM! they became impossible nightmare fringe! I have VERY wavy hair and should have known better. But, now there is hope that MAYBE I can make them look decent until they grow out a bit. Thanks again!
Thank you soooo much for this video. It’s going to be a life saver. I just recently went from super long hair to a short cut with curtain bangs and I have no idea what to do with them and was regretting my decision. 🥴😬 hoping I can try these out and get it looking right! ❤
Girl SAME. Sometimes I wake up and I *love* my bangs so much and they look amazing etc etc but some days they will just. not. cooperate. This was so helpful! Especially in the "let your bangs be for like 15 mins before messing with them" because I think that is my main problem😂
Thank you for this. I just got my hair done and got curtain bangs, I suck at styling my hair and I’ve tried and tried to get them to look good and this helped. I’m going to try these methods.
Thank you SO much! Finally someone whose bangs aren't super long! I'm gonna try these right now because mine are growing out and I can't stand them just sitting there.
Just got curtain bangs yesterday. I liked them when my stylist did them but I LOVE them after using the univorn/curling iron method this morning!! Tomorrow I'll try the velcro reset. You are hands down the BEST hairstyle youtuber I've watched. I've been able to replicate anything I've tried. Thank you!! P.s. where were you in the 70s the first time I was wearing this style?!😂🤣
I'm growing out my bangs rn, so this rly helped. The other girls with curtain bangs seem to have very long ones- mine are too long to be actual bangs, but other people having long curtain bangs made me think mine were too short. But i tried this and it worked! ty
Thankyou so much I'm new to bangs and I tried using the round brush at the same time as the blow dryer and thought I was doomed but I'm definitely going to try these! Subscribed!
You look so pretty with bangs Kaylee!! I love how they look on you. I have had "normal" bangs since January, and I love them. Could you possibly try to do a "normal bangs" tutorial thing again? That would be awesome. Thank you!

I've never knew how to handle my curtain bangs until I watched THIS VIDEO. I was about to grow them again... you're a goddess!!! :D
Didn't want curtain bangs or ever even think about curtain bangs. Watches Kayley Melissa style her curtain bangs and gets curtain bangs😂😂 Now I love them especially after watching this video and being able to style them perfectly!
Seriously, I feel your pain on the bad haircut but your videos on how to deal with it have been so helpful. More helpful than if they were perfect. I love your videos and this is so great! Look forward to more with the bangs. Maybe a half-updo with a braid?
I just got curtain bangs yesterday, so this video is very helpful. Thank you! =) And because I am a bit lazy, I think I will either use my flat iron to curl the bangs or do the way easier option, to use hair rollers. Beacause then I can make them in the evening and save time in the morning. ^^
I want curtain bangs for so long but in my country hair salons have been closed almost for 4 months now. I'm tempted to cut it on my own but I'm patiently waiting and learning tips from you 🥰
I’ve had curtain bangs for three months and never knew how to style them! Love this video thank you. My drugstore light hairspray is Dove style and care
I’ve been thinking about getting curtain bangs! I currently have to self isolate because I was contact traced at school, but I plan to get my hair cut once I can leave my room. This video was definitely helpful in the decision!
Thanks for the tips. I haven’t tried the round brush and blow dryer technique yet but I think I will try that tomorrow as I'm not liking the way the flat iron technique looks.
This is so helpful; thank you!!! I’d love to see your styles for when it’s just hopeless. Or maybe hair is a bit TOO dirty but you’re not ready or don’t have time to wash. I only know about snap clips with a ponytail or I’ll do a side part and twist all my bangs back and to one side
This past summer I made the total rookie mistake of getting my long pandemic hair razor cut by a stylist I had never been to before and man, she really messed up my hair. I was crying for days. She made me look like 90’s hair band dude. A few days later I went and had another stylist cut into as much of a shirt bob as she could and that’s where I am now, growing out a bad cut. But the bangs are taking forever. I’ve been pinning them back since August! I think I might start to try to style them with my Dyson round brush attachment and hope they integrate with the rest of my hair a bit more. Thanks for the tips.
This is literally a life saver of a video!! I’ve had a full fringe for around 4 years and want to grow it out but last time I had curtain bangs I found them such a sod to style! Definitely going to look at getting a round brush and Velcro rollers. Thank you for sharing all your techniques too! Sailor moon was my fave 👌🏻😂 xx
