Oh my goodness Phil, you owe no one an explanation. I get it, people can be a bit nosy but you are entitle to a private life. The work you do on your home is your business. I hope it brings you joy and you keep sharing it with us.

Without even watching the video, I am going to answer the question, which I assume came from other commenters.... YES! Someone special. YOURSELF :)

Doing it for yourself is the best reason to make your chateau how you want it.

Phil, you are absolutely right in just clearing everything up, rather than having little spots with nonessential things that just bring more work. The chateau will look amazing when everything is clean and maintainable. That will give you more time to do a project which you want to do or give you time to just enjoy life in general. Don't let anyone steer you off your path.

When we are happy with our surroundings we are more productive and happier with ourselves! We have less of a weight on our shoulders and much less stress… value yourself Phil you are worth it and you do seem happier since you are tackling your mental list of things you want accomplished. I agree with you. A sit upon lawn mower once a week, all sorted. Chuck all the crap. You don't need a veg patch either, I refuse to grow tomatoes this year, just to wait until December and throw unripe green tomatoes away.

Good for you, Philip! You have to feel at home in your own environment and once all the jobs (though there may be many) are done, it will just be upkeep, mowing grass, trimming shrubs, etc. That all homeowners have to do.

I'm glad your doing it for yourself. I total get the clearing of all the area, and making it easier to clean. I did that myself when I realized I'm not having time to enjoy my garden. I was spending all my time working on it. Now I grab a drink, and sit and watch the flowers grow. LOL

Phil, what I like about this, and recent videos is that you are finding satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment on projects that were put on the back burner as I've done. There are many things that need to be done inside my house and on the property. Just yesterday evening, while relaxing in front of a bonfire in the garden, I said, I gaze upon the house and property that I inherited from my parents, and I am very humbled and thankful for their hard work to maintain a family and a property. Now, I am the steward of this property. You and I have the same namesake and we both do what is necessary to keep things going. I like the way you are going about in restoring the on-suite bedroom and all of the things you do are for you and to enjoy now and for years to come. I've enjoyed your YT channels, helping others like your friends like Billy P and making his LR roadworthy once again.

Thank you for answering our questions and suggestions we thought we were helping. Ease of maintenance of the property for a bachelor, and a "clean slate" method would help you out a LOT! And with you running a business, you would not have much time to do yard work as in huge gardens and flower beds, to add on more burden on your work load. Mowing will be very easy, less hurdles and obstacles to deal with. I agree with your shed, it is no way it will support the weight of the logs and realized it was a very SMALL shed. Glad you showed it to us. I would love to see you work on the logs, splitting logs, sacking in appropriate areas, from well seasoned wood to green wood that needs time to dry. I totally agree with you Phil, in that having a huge yard like you have, it’s beautiful to just have grass, nicely cut and a few trees. Too many plants can, apart from making more work to maintain, look cluttered and blocks the view from the house. I love the way it’s turning out. 😊

Great progress and well done on clearing the old peacock area - it looks so much better already and absolutely agree that with such a big garden it needs to be LOW maintenance to keep under control. Also why to folks think you would only want to do these tasks for someone else - very strange. Just do whatever you want for you - its your house and your life.
