@garybenski6383 the replacement is Jamo getting more targets. He's been looking really good in camp. Between Amon ra, Jamo, and LaPorta there aren't going to be too many extra targets. Not to mention both RBs can catch. Raymond can hold down the extra spot.
Levi Onwuzurike. 2nd round draft pick on Holmes' first draft (41sr overall). This is the first offseason he was able to train for football and not rehab because of his injured back. Dan Campbell has been gushing over his progress.
Jamison Williams.!! the talent is undisputed. He is putting in the work. when Amon-Ra St Brown says your working your butt off, that is a real statement from a guy know to work longer and harder than the rest. His route running has progressed to what he was expected to do from the beginning. I believe he is a difference maker this year.
@@pancake_ninja7964 - Can you guarantee injuries won’t be an issue this season? Nope. Depth players ARE IMPORTANT to this team and their goals. Injuries can and DO derail a season. TWO players ended their season this past week. I’m chill as FK! 😂
@@jasonhill9674Well it kind of goes out saying team needs to be relatively healthy to have a successful season. Now there’s gonna be injuries and that is why depth is important but nothing trumps “luck!” You can have the best strength and conditioning coaches, play on caution, etc. But it only takes one play or one wrong movement. Like I said, all teams experience injuries, some worse than others. Im not trying to shed light into this, but the Olineman who got hurt was not gonna make the team. In fact I don’t think he would’ve been picked up for the practice squad. As far as Cominsky, that’s tough… Last year, of course he was 100% lock. He fit with the Lions but it just shows you how much they’ve gotten better. As he was 100% lock last year and a starter/ impact rotational player… this year he was a 50-50 shot to make the team. Hopefully both those gentlemen can recover and play next year.
@@jamiethomas3306 - Agreed. Sometimes you have to point out the obvious though. Obviously losing anybody to injury is important to note, luckily it hasn’t been any starters, although I believe Cominsky at some point did start during his time here. We lost Monty for a spell last season and Gibbs had to step in. This team has been pretty resilient when it comes to injuries. It’s important to have healthy depth.
Vaki has been my focus on the rookie side. Having one more weapon in the checkdown that can turn a 4 yard pass into a plus yards first down is huge. Im also stoked that we are not seeing Jamo in the preseason says a lot about the confidence they have in him right now.
I’m ready to see our whole defense. Yes I love offense and don’t think they will take a step back. But just about everyone on defense I’m excited to see. See if Hutch can become the elite sack machine. Reader getting doubled and taking pressure away from Hutch. Davenport the silent assassin. Watching Alim take another step forward. Levi finally being healthy. Martin figuring it out through the season. Paschal take a step forward this season. Wingo and what he can do. The Campbell and Branch taking big steps forward. And what combos we will have in the secondary. This is going to be a fun season.
Rakestraw is 'gonna rake'. Terrion is gonna be great but I want to see how Ennis is gonna be because I think he will be a very good player in his own right.
I really want to see what we have in Hendon Hooker. I have waited what feels like forever to see him in an actual game with pros. He has the arm, he has the feet, I want to see if he has the eyes and the instinct
@@ph1sts - I’m really looking forward to watching Hooker play. I liked him a lot in college. Knew he was a top tier QB but never considered him as a pick for us in the third round. Thought he would be gone earlier so it seemed like a steal when it happened. I’m ready to see him play this preseason. Nate Sudfeld was on my CUT list last year b4 his injury. He looked awful! Can’t imagine he’s improved enough. My money is on Hooker for QB#2
@@jasonhill9674 I actually thought that Hooker could still be there in the 3rd and posted as such on several Lions YT channels in the months prior to the '23 draft. Was the first time that I got a Lions pick correct, even though I don't follow the college games as closely any longer.
He gives the lions a running QB ,if Goff or sufeld could run better ,how long did Rodgers sit on the sideline with GB ,detroits coaching staff know how to run a team for the long haul ,been a lions fan since 1963 allways was, allways will be!!!!!!
@@darinkittle6595 Both Rodgers and Love were used as backups for 3 seasons. But Hooker's first with the Lions was like being redshirted b/c of his injury. Hendon is also a year older than a typical college QB draft pick. For all of the praise given to Kaaron, and his MVP awards by NFL HQ, he only played in and won ONE Superbowl game nearly 15 years ago!!
ONLY if they're HEALTHY!! A bunch of injuries to key players right now Arnold, Branch, Gibbs, LaPorta, all have hamstring injuries, that require long term recovery. 2 starting D Line guys out with injuries, Mosley out for season AGAIN!! Possibly....we wont win anything if this is where we are when season starts, less than a month away!!!
The Lions? SUPERBOWL or bust and yes they are America's team finally it will be a nation wide celebration when they win their first of a few i hope and i say that because other teams will try to take our team apart next season in 2026
@@ManuelCorrea-jr3ds I understand you love the Rams but what you don't understand the Lions's have never won a Superbowl so it's their time to win. The head guy of NFL doesn't want to be sued which Sheila threatened him so yes this year they get to win. Sheila said she has built that team to win a lot in the Superbowl. So again watch and learn. The receivers for the Rams call Stafford "Grandpa" and unlike the TB Buccaneers receivers never called Tom Brady grandpa so the Rams receivers shouldn't have called Stafford Grandpa
Every time I hear about Arnold, he's usually getting burned by Jamo (to be fair, not a lot of people can match his pace). Rakestraw is doing very good as well. Excited to see how they hold up!
