I will not forget these lines in the finals. 2015 - "SKT will be your first ever two time World Champions" 2016 - "SK Telecom have overcome every challenge they are the undisputed best team in the world the SKT reign continues" 2017 - "They caught Faker, They got the CC! The Midlaner is down, The Unkillable demon king has done just that", "In the moment of truth, they flash on Faker and they take out the heart of SK Telecom" & "The SKT dynasty is over all hail the new kings" 2018 - "The LPL has never won before but that will change today, The Crownless are finally king" 2019 - "FunPlus Phoenix are looking to silence the haters and stun the world with their own style of League of Legends" 2020 - "Damwon will silence Shanghai" 2021 - There is one turret between EDG & history" 2022 - "They have been doubted, They have been discounted, They have been dismissed, but DRX are your 2022 World champions"
DRX vs T1 was a rollercoaster to watch. The back and forth in games, the storylines behind the careers of Deft and Faker, and the game 5 situation. Along with the objective steals, this series is a must watch. Truly the greatest ending to the legendary career of Deft.
DRX VS T1 will go down as the greatest finals ever. I've cried tears of joy after seeing DRX win. I rooted for them since the start of play-ins because Deft is my 2nd favourite player ever (and neither TSM or Bjergsen qualified). I was one of very few people who supported them from the start of worlds, and picked them to finish 1st in groups, quarters, semis and final. The only time i didnt pick them was in the playins (i picked RNG, cuz they won MSI, and my friend told me that and said that DRX wasn't very good). In the end he ended with terrible pick ems and i got top 5000 (rank 1375), which meant i got the Azir skin. To sum up, the team and player i wanted to win won worlds, it was my best years in pick'ems by a long shot, the worlds meta was so good, best finals ever, best cinderella story ever, couldn't write a better script if you wanted to, BEST WORLDS EVER.
@@bhchoi8357 lmao he's better than both chov and showmaker mostly than any midlaners this worlds ever been from team fights to any plays he made impact. The reason they lost to drx was draft diff and drx getting comfortable to T1 play style and adopting which they did like in any other team they face. It might seem unbelievable, but all of those are all of the hard work and determination they had as the reason drx won. They gap faker which they know once he is out and can't do anything like any other team did. his team would crumble just like what happened to game 3 and 5 though in game 3 they almost lost. Faker is the core and will always be the best because of his mechanics and macro plus his understanding and playstyle that doesn't rely on flashy play like chovy, playmaker(with no impact if they can't get kill or make a play) or any mid pro in game.
@@영환남-t7y no, everyone was in their Prime during that era. You had, Faker, Uzi, Deft, Smeb, Score, Rekkles, Doublelift, Bjergsen, Perkz, Imp, Maple, & a bunch of others in the middle of their primes.
@@영환남-t7y If there has ever been a week era it was season 1-2. From then on, there where soo many good players and teams that you can't talk about faker like that.. Im not ever a faker fan ot skt fan, those are the facts.
No doubt about his energy, but also about his contract. Ill challenge any team to sign a big contract with pyosik. Never seen such a bad smiter in world.
No, the DRX win just proves why video games are not real sports. You don't go from absolute garbage to world champions in the span of one month, in a competition where you play a series rather than all or nothing. Bot lane meta changed dramatically between domestic playoffs and worlds - both RNG and DK had no business going to worlds if it wasn't for spamming Zeri 24/7 all of summer split.
LCK is still the only region to have two teams in finals and to have the same two teams (SKT and SSG) go against each other back to back for two finals. Undisputed best region.
True. It's like joy and anxiety are fighting each other in your gut but undeniably a good feeling during this highest level of league competition. Hoping 2023 will give us like this kind of Worlds.
If you think about it if Oner stole that Elder, T1 would have won cos Faker and Zeus with Elder would have killed Kingen and Zeka. Literally the biggest 50/50 in the history of LOL
Bro lol. 2011 we're the verstehst upset in League History. The lineups of the na Teams we're brutal and everyone saw No Chance for eu. Especially tsm with Chaox a Chinese import. Tsm and Epik we're the best Teams in 2011 No doubt. Fnstic was Not even the Favorite auf the du Teams
You can feel that the finals 2022 were just a different energy alltogether. The whole tournament really. Every single team that got into knock out stage except maybe Rouge felt like a team strong enough to be a champion. The first two series were a bit disappointing from Rouge and RNG but apart from that, they all were absolutely amazing.
@@usermsl 20 DWG was not even close as dominant as 2015 SKT wtf 2015 SKT ended games in 20 minutes too contrary to popular opinion lol DWG was very dominant too but they lost to G2 which is a team they should have 3-0d It's between 2015 SKT and 2014 SSW, and I give the slight edge to SKT because they didn't lose a game to TSM
For my the 2 best finals is SSW vs RNG ( R&C), because it was My first year in LoL and I remember watched in My Xbox 360 on RU-vid maybe 3am the final and the epic song of Imagine Dragons. And EDG vs DK, because EDG is My favourite team of the competitive, when I was watching the Worlds 2015 I watched a match of these team I fallen in love of these and Meiko haha, after 7 years he won a Worlds. When EDG played in LPL I woke Up very early for looked how played EDG, in 2021 when EDG won the LPL I thought You needed a World Cup and many players and analyst said " EDG lost 3-1 DK because is not very stronger than T1", but EDG shut Up a Lot of mouths. Always EDG Live in the shadow of the LCK and finally them have a Worlds in the best of 5 very tension Worlds.
Watching the 2020 finals again is kinda hurt. I never expect how silent the crowds are considering how full the stadium was. It is unfortunate because Damwon and Suning are great team (we even got the pentakill in final) but it is forgettable final because how dead the crowds are.

Also 2016-2017 series is the most anime fight ever. Ssg(samsung)-Skt fight started long time ago, both were the favorite teams on most worlds. But samsung always was the second... They tried and tried, but none of their tries even close to the skt. At 2016, Skt is the best team and dominating, they have the unkillable demon god... Ssg got a great spike, eliminating their enemies one by one with close matches. Then the moment of truth came. Skt, Faker is in front of them. At the matches, every lane was losing most of the time every ssg player is drowning to power of skt. But except one player: The jungler, Ambitious. He doesnt accepted the lose to skt again. He started get resources from lanes and then ganking them contuniously. He was everywhere. Whenever skt roams a lane, ambitious was there for his team. He started to pressuring skt, and the team members saw one thing in his eyes: hope. Then ssg started pressuring. But skt as a experienced team, theyre holding. Because of every team on worlds focusing to kill faker, faker get used to being target and plays safe, and he has the srongest mental at the time. At the 2-2, everyone watching silently. Ambition knew he need to do something to create a difference. Then he saw at the mid, there is an opportunity. He rushed from the river while his teammate coming in, he used his q and flash, they got the faker kill. God was bleeding. After that, skt started to collapse during the game, slowly but surely. Their confidence was breaking as a team. And mostly, the fakers. But is it enough, actually? The whole game ssg tried to focus on faker but during this time, someone is getting stronger on the behind: SKT duke with the trundle. They tried to stop him, but it was too late. Theyre blinded with the faker and forgot the other players as a threat. And then, ssg stomped to the ground with trundle, with skt, again... All of ambitions and teams hardwork is gone, it wasnt enough. But even if its a lose, they didnt give up. They needed to "Rise" again. So theyre started from the beginning. They got a whole different gameplan this time. Lets play our game rather than fighting in the swamp which the skt pulled them in. Every player analyzed their faults and tried to play more synchronised. There was different strategies on lane phase, hanging around the worlds teams, so they tried to get used to them. Coach analyzed fakers playstyle and the pick-ban situations. On the other hand, skt's cracked confidence hitting them contuniously. It was 2-2 and if duke didnt made that tiny difference, they knew it was a %100 percent lose. But they just put these emotions under the carpet and contunied the thing they do the best, playing the game. At the 2017, skt got a lot of trouble. On 2016, theyre pretty much stomping everyone until finals, but this season every match they played is a close call. On the other side, ssg was doing the thing they used to, getting wins by 3-0. At the 2017 finals, every skt fan (also me) supporting the skt as hard as possible. But we knew there is something wrong about our favorite team. At 2017 finals there is whole another game. Ssg pressuring and skt looks like theyre the side which tries to hold! Every gank gives a score to SSG and skt's coming back empty handed after every play theyre tried to do. SSG got the first game while dominating skt, And the second game! At the 3rd game, skt started to hold with their full effort. This game every skt player was playing with no mistakes, the plan was basic: we have the late game heroes and better fight composition. Just dont get caught and give faker resources. All of the players trying to get not caught. But at the most important phase of the game, the core of the skt made a huge mistake. He just went 1 step forward with karma, one misplaced step. THEN THE SSG RULER FLASHED IN WITH THE VARUS ULT, SSG ONE SHOTTING THE FAKER! DEAD! Everyone was shocked, bang is alive so he can hold up maybe. They are not expecting losing that quick! And the game ended, ssg was victorious! After all the attempts against skt, they STOMPED the skt. Ambition was winning the world cup with sejuani, with his teammates and getting revenge. Its the best, cheerful moments of ssg at the camera. They deserved it, they rise. On the other side, a team was fell. Faker was in the tears. In the past, he was trying to cover his teammates mistakes as a captain. But at the last game, everyone tried to cover fakers mistakes whole game. But at the most critical moment, he made a huge mistake and let down his teammates. Even though no one blames him (mostly), he was blaming himself. Skt dynasty fell that day. Skt players slowly seperated and after a while, we didnt saw the legendary skt players wolf, bengi and the bang again. Faker remain mostly silent. The skt replacing other players contuniously around the faker but it isnt working as they wanted. Until one day: the day faker decided to fight again. At late 2021 (i guess) he got involved in skt to make skt better. If im right, he bought some part of the skt, and created a team the skt not used to. This team didnt had mvp or "star" players. But this team my friends, had potential. It was full of young players which have sheer will to fight. Then faker started training these guys with his experiences. He completely changed, hes not the scorer anymore. He is the supporter. We saw it on 22 worlds, he just oushes the wave and goes bot, top, helps his jungle etc. In the past, faker was the one get supported with resources, but now he is willingly supporting his teammates. Because now, he is not just playing to win, he is also playing to win *with friends*. And this is the story of 2016-17:"RISE" of the Ambition and the reborn of the faker like a "PHOENIX". You can go watch the both Rise and phoenix worlds music video, theyre bot amazing. Dude i got carried on and wrote a f* novel wtf
What? That's what one should expect when they play an away match. It's only natural to cheer for your national teams. Sucks that westerners have given up on their region since their teams never produced results. Honestly, if I was American, I wouldn't even bother with LCS since the majority of their places are just Korean imports anyway. It's like watching a bootleg LCK at this point. Blows that League has failed in the west, but whatever. These days, it's pretty much known that international championships are basically just fought between Korea and China.
@@marionplaza4240Worlds is worlds. Fnc skins are in the game, and riot considers it as worlds. Everything starts somewhere, and that is where worlds started regardless of who participated in the tournament.
having been there live in SF, the atmosphere was incomparable to anything else. However, I have to say props to the T1 members for how they took the conclusion of the series (not talking about Keria of course). Remember these players are all pretty much 18-20 years of age which is crazy in the level of maturity they showed in graceful defeat. T1 will for sure be back, but I was ecstatic for the Cinderella story to be complete.
idk what ur implying about Keria but cut him some slack theres nothing wrong with showing your emotions on stage it only shows how much they care about the game
@@spencerjong3349 im saying its understandable with the reactions of Keria coming so close. I'm more acknowledging Oner and Guma for keeping their composure and especially Oner for comforting teammates after the final game concluded
Still gave me chill after seeing that final play of T1 during 2022 Worlds. If not not for Kingen tp they could have lost it. I still got teary eyed when i'm watching Keria crying there. T1 really learned from that defeat. Never let an opponents carry pick the champion that can potentially snowball the next game.
why did you think about ? T1 was good run in 2022 with 1~2 years rookie players (especially zeus) they are keep going better than last year and they gonna win someday (like DRX with DEFT)
