Whenever I feel depressed, I come to this channel and watch Mike enjoy himself because his genuine happiness rubs off on me and makes me feel motivated to get out into the world and try new foods for myself :-)
When my husband is away for long work tours, I watch your videos while I eat dinner. Reminds me of home and make things a lot less lonely. Thanks for the excellent work!
You should go to restaurants where people don't give good ratings and check out if it's actually as bad as they say. Like myth de-bunking - food edition lol
Dude thanks for introducing me to my new love I've been travelling my country of New Zealand trying all the hot pot places out using your videos as a guide. It was rather funny at my last hot pot place the Chinese people were buzzing out on me as I kind a knew what I was doing the people across from me asked me about my sauce lol which was the three part seasme one part chive and hot oil on the side so cheers mike I'm living that hot pot life now
Bronson Reti Omg. I was gonna comment to him to come and show us the best in New Zealand. I'd really love to try my own country's range of hotpot options.
I'd say D 72 on Dominan road I think it's actually called Briton house it has the biggest selection I've seen so far as a all you can eat buffet I was getting annoyed as I couldn't find a hot pot place with all the good stuff but finally have I did like the Chinese steamboat abit further Down the same road but smaller selection Northshore also has a few good ones but D 72 was by far the biggest selection great sauce bar with everything I also posted reviews on Zomato but I'm a huge fan of extra spicy hot pot and my Mrs says I'm a dumper too lol meat selection is always similar quality tho
Haha, they saw him eating the place out of meat, so they begged him to eat more vegetables XD Mikey goals! Eat so much meat that the staff recommends the vegetables XD
Hotpot is amazing. We got a hotpot bowl a while ago and had hotpot. The sizzling meat and chilly sauce is amazing. It was just a simple chicken base broth for us though and we had some vermicelli noodle in the broth. Everything was a little on the less flavorful side because the sauce was strong so it brought everything together really well :)
The simplest broth is...water....no kidding, that's the hotpot in Beijing cuisine. The dipping sauce is sometimes more important. But of course you can use more advanced broth, beef/port bone or chicken soup.
Yonghui Fan I always make mine with just warer. Throw in a chunk of garlic and some scallions and that’s it. Then throw in the meat then veggies. Then by the time you’re done throw in the noodles and it’s a beautifully flavored broth.
I think it's so cute how he sneezes when he's full lol. I'm going to Thailand in a few months and am so looking forward to trying their hot pot. Love your videos!
The more locations you visit the more excited I get. I used to hate slurping but now I die for it. My husband find it kinda wierd cuz it's not in our tradition.
The broth pot remind me of the Yin and Yang symbols. Great video, my goal for my own channel is to be engaging with the camera and audience when I vlog like you Mickey. I do Monologues, Vlogs, and reading coments sections. 😊
7:04 WOAH WOAH WOAH! FULL STOP! Mikey eating fried rice at an all you can eat place...and going back for seconds of said fried rice? Sweet mother of food Jesus HOW TASTY IS THAT RICE!?
the thai sukiyaki sauce is literally one of the best things ive ever discovered in my life. when my thai friend and i go out for bbq and stuff, she brings it in a container for all of us to use lol
Sukiyaki sauce will always be a banger! One of my favorites sauce to eat with hot pot. I’m glad you were able to taste it, it’s so underrated! I’m hungry now lol
Hi Mike! Is there any chance you could do a video in the future on hot pot etiquette and food safety for newbies who have never had hot pot before? I've only had hot pot once and it didn't end well. (My dinning companions and I definitely mishandled some raw meat and seafood!) I'd love to learn about how long to cook some of the most popular hot pot items, how to manage the temperature of the broth, if you should use different pairs of chopsticks for raw and cooked foods, etc. Thanks! :)
I’ve watch countless videos and it makes me happy and sad, southern Florida doesn’t have a wide variety of Asian restaurants, I have never had half of the things in your videos! It makes it so bittersweet! Eat for the both of us lol!
You need to have a show with the woman from Boston you did a show not long ago. You are so spontaneously funny and your wit is so quick it leads your audience on foody adventures the feel they taste at the same time. To do so with an asian prospective and a comedic touch is beyond funnny! You are the best at what you do!!!
I have a love hate relationship with these videos! I love them so much but hate how hungry they make me. I always make sure to eat before I watch them, plus I am a vegetarian and I still end up drooling and wanting hot pot!
I have never had hot pot but have watched these videos so much over the last week I got inspired and made my own hot pot with friends. It turned out fantastic. Thanks for the videos keep them coming.
NO WAYYYY YOURE RIGHT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD but I’m stationed in Cali now and I drool over watching your food review videos but seeing that you’re in queens makes me drool even more! I MISS THE FOOD FROM QUEENS SO MUCHHHH
im 17:59 min through the vid and he still has a 3rd stop!?! wtf! I almost pulling a Walter Bishop and dropping acid to understand how this dudes stomach works...i tell you its nothing like Kevin Harts fictional bank account for sure! lol
just microwave some burritos to get ready to watch your video. Not sure if I should be happy that I'm prepared or sad that You're eating hot pot and here I am eating a $0.25 Tina's Burrito...
Love your vid series! I'm a hotpot noob so you taught me a thing or two about experimentation and mixing different types of sauces and which ingredients to try out. Can't wait to start binge watching your other videos!
A little late to the party but quarantine is still in progress, hometown hotpot is Malaysian themed tho, the curry, the stuffed stuffed stuff and the dipping sauces are all Malaysian food. Looks so good 😍😍
Mmmm I love hometown!!!!! Their curry base is amazing and Everything is fresh. I totally suggest it! I think it's one of my favorites in NYC ❤️ I just recently went to Timestamp, but I really like it as well! Another favorite.
You really need to come to Cincinnati and do a food tour here! I've found a handful of restaurants since subscribing to you a few years ago that are absolutely amazing, but I could always use more, since I'm just a white girl with access to google and a love of authentic food. I do have to thank you, though, for piquing my interest in Szechuan cooking (I've found two fantastic restaurants with authentic food), pho (there's a restaurant near me with some of the most amazing pho broth and great hot oil), and dim sum (there's an amazing dim sum place near the pho restaurant that I've only had once unfortunately). I'd love to see you come and explore our Asian food in Cincinnati and give me some great ideas of where to try next.
Mike I live in the Midwest and I finally found a pho and hotpot resturaunt.... Oh my goodness! What have I been doing with my life!?! I'm sure it isnt super authentic but its soooooo good im addicted! Ive been subscribed to your channel for years now and I can't thank you enough for encuraging me to try new things.
Genuinely love these videos, I am a big foodie and cook at heart, and this channel always makes my day. :) I hate to ask, but unfortunately my area does not have any restaurants like this and I am only just recently trying to learn about this style of cooking, but are there any types of sauces or dishes you should avoid or at least ask about if you go to such a restaurant or abroad and have an allergy? (Specifically peanuts in my case...^.^' ) I know Mike has mentioned in the past that the servers are your lifeline in this type of restaurant, but on the off chance you're on your own, like during a rush, I'd love to know if there's anything to keep in mind when hitting up a sauce bar if I ever get a chance to visit and eat at such a place. Thank you!
