All you need to know about Mythic Weapon skins in Overwatch 2!

A few weeks ago, I made a video in which I raised my suspicion about new mythic items that could be coming to Overwatch 2 in one of the next seasons.
I had reasons to believe we would get items other than skins with that new mythic tier. One of the ideas I floated in that video was a Mythic tier weapon skin. Because they could do a lot more with the weapon skins. More animations, custom reloads, custom sounds…
Low and behold, today Blizzard announced that starting with season 11, you’ll be able to buy Mythic tier weapon skins with more animations, custom reloads, custom sounds… Let's have a look.

i think if they add an extra 10 prisms per pass, then u can slowly work up to an extra skin or weapon every 5 seasons that would be perfect

its a corporation, they want more money, so of course they would make you buy more mythic prisms in order to get a mythic weapon on top of a mythic skin.

I'm sitting on 80 prisms and I wont be getting the Mythic Ashe skin. But I will instantly get the Rein Mythic Hammer.

You could probably buy the skin ( without buying the other levels ), then you can save up to use those extra prisms to buy other stuff and the rein hammer too for next season.

Same I've been wanting a Rein mythic skin for so long, a mythic Weapon skin is almost cooler. Do we know when it's going to be buyable?

I think the ashe skin is more worth it becuase it gives more i think, the ashe skin is a whole skin and has a weapons skin basically in the trailer ashes gun skin looked as good as reinharts mythic hammer, so i feel buying the mythic skin gives more but idk

Rein’s weapon can be used with any skin, could be an insane combo with the rein demon skin from ss5 battlepass. Basically it all just depends on whether you play Ashe or Rein more

With the possibility to unlock previous Mythic-Skins and now introducing Mythi-Weapon-Skins they are improving the reward-system as you can choose what you like to unlock. I´m planning to unlock the Ashe-Mythic-Skin but at some point a hero I don´t play that much will be getting a skin and then there is a good chance that I could get a Weapon-Skin for a hero I do enjoy to play. I hope they continue to release a new Mythic-Weapon-Skin in each season.

Either a full skin and weapon, or just a weapon, I think it’s obvious. Edit: I think you should get mythic prisms when getting the 35 dollar battle pass bundle

The Mythic Weapon skin looks AMAZING!! I love it so much. Didn't expect the weapon to be 80 prisms as well for the full unlock. But it does look mighty hahah. Going to have a hard time deciding :p GREAT VIDEO!!!

They can't even give us weapon colors... So how long will it take to actually give "mythic" to every character... It's ridiculous. Just give us new colors for the weapons in the store.

i do play some ashe and i dont rly play rein so if i had to i'd take the ashe mythic skin but since we don't have to i'm gonna keep my prisems for a mythic on one of my main hero's like sombra, zen, hog

They’ll most likely work like the skins, so they’ll come back after a few seasons. But nothing was confirmed.

It's all a popularity contest. Cosmetics is just to show off your friends on how much money and time you waste on the game. Aslong as I can still shot at things freely and still have fun... I'm happy.

I love the idea of mythic weapon skins, but I also feel 80 prisms for just a weapon is a bit overkill (is it really 80?) I was willing to pay like 10 assuming it was just one skin with special effects, maybe 20, and 30 at most with some customization options, but if it costs as much as a full mythic skin I feel I would always rather choose the skin, which is sad because again I love the idea in theory

No offense but blizzard killed all hype for anything for me because I know it's gone be behind a 20-40$ paywall.While I can agree the skins look great they are never gonna be a point of hype anymore that makes me want to check out the game or the new season so call me when they announce a gamemode and the balance patch.

I hate this. So we are monetizing weapon skins and skins are still 20 dollars but you STILL CANT equip your already owned weapon skins. This is prof that they can do this but they are so focused on making people pay for them that we are at the point where its okay to put weapon inspects behind a paywall???? This really rubs me off the wrong way especially when in overwatch one this is stuff that they said was coming.

I think after this I will have to start looking at maybe not getting the mythic every single season. I don't play Rein enough or Ashe but I love the Ashe skin more so this season at least I'm going with the skin. After this season I'm def going to need to make that decision moving forward more than likely.

Mercy absolutely did not deserve the mythic but hey I got the JunkerQueen skin I missed because i love playing tank. Ashe is nice but the hell hammer for rein looks amazing. Can't wait for it because if you have his devil skin it will look perfect

I am so annoyed by the cosmetics of this game. As a one trick character player. There is NOTHING to get and spend money on. They NEED to introduce character unrelated cosmetics. All kinds of weapon colors in the store. Rework the charm and especially the souvenirs. So people can see those cosmetics. Overwatch is the only game I play that DOESN'T want my money

Oooooooohhh You should pair the Mythic Bound Demon with Reinhardt's Demon skin from Season 5. *Chef's Kiss* For me, I'm gonna buy the highest choice of Mystic Prisms THIS season, then I'll go through the Battlepass normally and earn the 80, to spend on the Ashe skin and then buy the Reinhardt Weapon skin.

This bothered me in season 10, but now in season 11 it bothers me even more: What about the mythic skins that I already had before season 10 and that I might not even want? I could use the 80 prisms that I would have to pay for Tracer's Adventurer skin, for example, for Reinhardt's mythic weapon skin. And I also think that I am entitled to 10 extra prisms, since Hanzo's mythic skin only costs 70 prisms with only 3 upgrade levels. You might think, that I'm kidding, but I'm totally serious.

This is so frustrating. Now there’s multiple choices, yet not more ways to get them. This also means holding off on mythic skins for a character that just got a weapon since I doubt they’re gonna release a mythic skin and weapon for the same character back to back. Also weapon inspects being locked behind that pay wall is evil.

Yeah but you can also equip that weapon on any skin, rather than just having to use that mythic skin itself. I got tired of the Ana mythic. Using the newest one. So if she got a mythic weapon, i'd probably get it
