Hi CA Rachana Ranade - Can you create a Small case and rebalance it on regular basis for us. Also can you just show your portfolio of investment just like at your view point
As an lnvesting enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?
I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. Like spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown
A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k

When it comes to investing, we want our money to grow with the highest rates of return, and the lowest risk possible. While there are no shortcuts to getting rich, but there are smart ways to go about it....
The market will always undergo changes and various challenges, so if you want to reach your goals of $3million, you have to be really focused and do your due diligence. Also having a financial consultant can be the best
I'm so happy for taking the bold step in investing with her. What suprises me about her mostly is she gives her clients access to her trading site whereby they can monitor their trades on a daily basis
U say very clearly, simply 100% of the whole matter in a small video without unnecessary things, that's why so many subscribers for u.u are really great.real CA.
Even fund manager are getting salaries they are charging subscription price but not our Rachana Madam for sharing knowledge...Thanks to have u on our earth....
Thanks for clearing out the Rebalancing concept! But having zero knowledge about the markets, how can I decide whether to opt for Rebalancing or not? What factors should I consider to decide whether to go for Rebalancing or not?
Rebalancing is done only because your stocks stay updated as per market and you have minimum loss risk. Smallcase is basically for people with zero knowledge
In case of buying and selling any stock we need to have per clearance from office, but it is not needed in case of Mutual fund. This is to avoid any Insider trading. So in which category the Small case comes
How sip will work in smallcase? Means how they will allocate money to the stocks. As i have created one sip saying min. First investment is 20k and later sip amount will be 5k howis that possible?
And one more thing Rachna....want to appreciate here publicly the way you make difficult financial things easy for the lay people. Any Dean would be lucky to have you as Senior Professor Finance and Accounting in his/her University. Regards. keep up the good work.
Rachana Ji - We always expect the best from you being retail investor centric. Small cases have a lot of drawbacks which nobody talks about - 1. The returns shown on small cases are only for illustration purposes as these funds were never started 5 years ago. This is a new service & has shown past performance to highlight it's selling. 2. Small case charge on every rebalancing of stocks in a portfolio that is quarterly or half yearly. 3. Multiple selling orders quickly leads to high STCG tax. 4. We can surely go with Index funds or Direct MF with as low as Rs 500 rather than Rs 5000 or more. (They have very less expense ratio) 5. Actual CAGR of these Small Cases is very poor which are written in the factsheet of these small cases in very small words. The actual performance of these small cases is similar/less than Index. If you feel I'm wrong feel free to correct me.
@@CARachanaRanade Thanks for your reply, however Mutual Funds & ETF will always win the race in comparison to small cases for retail investors. As there are subscription charges, STCG, multiple brokerages on buy/sell in small cases VS a negligible expense ratio in Index funds.
Mam I have a Question.... Please explain more about smallcase subscription... If I subscribed a small Case will I be able to invest in another smallcase or I have to subscribe another one also???? And the subscription is for only 2-3 months??? What after that??? If I invested amount will I have to subscribe further after 3 months?????
Respected Madam, Your Explation is Superb with Clarity, Bravity & Voice Modulation. Pl.clarify, how to group smallcase stocks with different themes & how to sell, either in group/ theme wise or individual stock can be sold in a theme. Regards with Thanks 🙏
Search for info on small cases ends here, well explained madam , Thanks a lot for the info & Kudos to your enthusiasm in the video. One quick question - If we accept to rebalance stocks (within a year) , do we loose the taxation benefits of "Long term capital gains" (since rebalance involves selling old stocks )
How sip will work? Means how they will allocate money to the stocks. As i have created one sip saying min. First investment is 20k and later sip ammount will be 5k howis that possible?
Please explain the difference between "Investment Value" and "Money put in" in smallcase. Also how to check the comprehensive earnings and charges/taxes incurred in a particular smallcase.. Thank you 🙏
What is impact of creating our own Small Cases and how are the charges under such circumstances? Will it be the same? By the way thank you for that Video, was about to schedule a call with Smallcase team to learn about the charges and subscription fees.
Smallcase lifting its game by influencer marketing, Ankur Wariko, CA Mam Suddenly started to talk about samllcase so often. Everyone is making us fool...by at the end saying this is not a financial advise.
Correct man, totally agreed. It clearly shows that you are giving lots of your profit share to fund manager and in taxes. There is no point to waste money on smallcase,if you invest less than few lakhs and than also it is not proved anywhere that they will give better return than mf
Brother it's just a method to invest if u don't want to invest then don't they also told us about stock market, mutual funds and crypto but they left it on us on how to invest and where to invest.
Just a question why to invest in small case if we can invest directly in stocks, apart from the personal customization thing. Also MF offers same benefits with lesser charges.
Small case are better than Mf in the sense that you are directly buying stocks using it so you have control over the stocks in your portfolio. But of course small case is not better than buying stocks directly if you have stocks knowledge...
@@deepakbisht4957 what is the use if we have control. We can take decisions only when the advisor recommends rebalancing. It is optional but a person without knowledge of stock market should accept all rebalancing right..
@@pradyumnas7068 adviser can recommend balancing according to their knowledge but you also have control to rebalance as these are the stocks that are present in your own Demat account. So without even asking I can simply use my brain. And of course buying stocks and selling them are the decision should be taken by a person who have some knowledge of market otherwise if you don't have that knowledge or risk capacity then Mutual funds schemes are always there....
@@deepakbisht4957 my point is that: if a person has enough knowledge so that he can rebalance his portfolio, why does he need a small case? he can directly buy shares. If a person doesnt have the knowledge about buying/selling shares, what will he do even if he has control. its like a person has car but doesnt know how to drive..
Smallcase don't disclose NAV before buying. It's buy buy & die. Cagr25% but after buying only we know NAV increased only 10% in 1 yr. So how's it's avg returns = 25%. Better go for parag Parikh or mirae asset mF which are very transparent.
Bhai when there is no NAV in smallcase here you directly own shares and the number shares can be changed by ourselves unlike MF where NAV is the only thing to calculate the value of our investment
How to decide if one should go with rebalancing or not? What factors one should bear in mind? STCG is a downside of rebalancing whereas in mutual funds one can hold the same for >1 year.
In smallcase you have to pay subcription fees, rebalancing fee everytime, plus taxes mostly short term tax because of rebalancing and other charges. You will get nothing if you are small invester (eg 1 lakh) in subscription based fund.
How sip will work in smallcase? Means how they will allocate money to the stocks. As i have created one sip saying min. First investment is 20k and later sip amount will be 5k howis that possible?

Best video on smallcase in detail with cons in smallcase also being discussed otherwise other youtubers are only andhbhakta of smallcases giving it just the free publicity for their own sake
Doesn't smallcase cause confusion in your Zerodha account when you are buying stocks separately as well? What if you end up selling the ones that were bought via a smallcase?
You can fill out a Google form available via smallcase support and they adjust the stocks sold accordingly. Although they do recommend not selling via the broker to avoid this confusion and manual effort
@@KunalKhatkeKK I fully agree that you need advertising, however the issue is, this lady here is supposed to be impartial and tell the pros and cons of small case and what she thinks of this as an investment idea. Her entire video would have gone in a different dimension if this was not a promotional video as she would have emphasised the issues of small case in depth. When you subscribe you are not even aware the list of stocks that you are going to get. Once done, if you do not follow their rebalancing act you will not know what to do. If you do what they ask you to do then it will be burning your pockets. All I am saying is she should be talking neutral or BE BRAVE ENEOUGH TO TELL THAT THIS IS A PROMOTIONAL VIDEO. NO issue on that. Look at the comments, they look at her as if she is their teacher and adore her but what she is doing is not right.
@@johnjoseph2811 bro stop making comments that are misleading. You need to subscribe to know the list of stocks or the Advisory firms are giving you their research for free. And you need to follow rebalances thats the smallcase feature. Wdym burning pockets? When you criticise someone or something always have proof or it sounds like an accusation that does not look good.
Hello, I just really have one dumb question. If I just subscribe to one smallcase for 6 months and choose not to go ahead with the subscription plan post 6 months- then will smallcase will let me sell my stocks through that? Apart from that, loved your content madam. You make the stock market concepts great and understandable to common peoples like us.
Hi Rachana I've "invested" in your Basic, Fundamental and Technical analysis courses. I have invested in Smartfolio ( small cases) as they call it in Geojit financial services for nearly 2 lks. 6 out of 12 show red colour !! Should I just wait for much longer to see god returns? They promise more than 20% returns !
What if I have 05 shares of HDFC AMC (purchased through Zerodha) and i brought a smallcase which has 02 shares of HDFC AMC alongwith some other shares and one day I sell all 07 shares. So, will i be able to sell all seven shares in one go ?
Hey Rachna Mam, Loved your video :) There is one problem though that I have faced with frequent rebalancing, I had a smallcase with a weekly rebalancing, and every time I rebalanced (majorly consisted of selling stocks) I incurred losses. Over the period of 3 months and 12 rebalances I have lost almost ₹4000 (just by rebalancing) while the profit & loss interest % from the smallcase itself were a completely different case. I feel nobody acknowledges this issue, and I was constantly in a state of FOMO when I used to ignore the rebalancing notification. I have exited an excellent smallcase just because of these frequent rebalance losses. Could you please address this issue?
Tks a lot for an Eye-opener on Small case. One doubt, Amongst the stocks held in small case, can I sell part or full holding of a particular script on my own rather than wait for rebalancing. Then what will be the effect. Will the remaining stocks will be managed by the small case manager.
Ma'am,I still have question about SIP's,whether invest in smallcase or mutual fund is beneficial..Waiting for your guidance .bdw Love your content , seemingly watching and connected with you .
What are the charges for SIP in Small Case? Request you to also compare it with Mutual Fund SIP charges 🙏😇🙏 Thank you for all your efforts. Regards, Ashish Agarwal.
Subscription based small case is not explained correctly. I'm a retail investor. I can invest few thousand rupees. Subscription charges are very high. If I invest ten thousand rupees, after subscription charge, 15% tax on sell/ rebalancing every 3 months, SEBI charges, what will be returns after a year? It will be negative in 90 percent of small cases.
I think very important question which was not discussed is whether smallcase is one time lumpsum investment or has to be done through SIP like mutual funds. Who else thought same question?
Best is to go for Index funds or Direct mutual funds as they have very very less expense ratio. Small case has many hidden charges, brokerages, short term tax, etc.
How to Invest in small cases through SIP. Secondly , assume if a small case is selected and a SIP amount of ₹ 500/- is to be invested monthly. Then my question is how is this amount of ₹500/- distributed within the stocks of small case. Is it distributed %age wise or all the time the SIP amount fluctuates according to the current stock price. Pls elaborate.
My second question is related to your Q#8, Invest vs Subscribe. If I can see the list of stocks in a particular SmallCase (like in case of a INVEST NOW SmallCase), why should not I buy those shares by myself, in same proportion as SmallCase is suggesting? Why to pay SmallCase fee in this case? Also, Incase of SUBSCRIBE, is the fee structure same like 2.5%+GST or ₹100+GST, or is there any additional fee for Subscription?
Yes you can do that but these smallcase do rebalance which means they do frequent buy and sell of stocks. If you buy stocks with yourself you won’t know when the stocks gets rebalance(what new stocks are added or sold). That’s the difference.
If I did not rebalance in small case , it's remain same and then future how I can sell? After rebalance existing small case remain same ? २) How I can open small case account?
One important question If i invest through smallcase and that stock will reflect and stock will show in my demat account example zerodha account then if i want to exit that smallcase can I directly sell that stock from zerodha will it allow Because if i exit from smallcase it would charge more vs if i exit directly from zerodha I hope my question is right
i think paid one is not good for small investors . paying 6000-12000 inr for subscription , will surely deduct from the capital gain , it is difficult when your capital is in few lakhs, and no one predict the market right ..
Thank you so much for this detailed breakdown. I guess it's the most relevant explanation on Smallcase which I could find on RU-vid. Truly appreciate your work!
@WhatsApp ✙➊➌⓿➍➏⓿➋➌➐➊➊ Besharmi ki bhi hadd hoti hai yaar 😑 Rachana ma'am just mentioned about such fake accounts in the beginning of this video and here you are doing the same thing. Try doing something good of your own.
What if we want to do SIP in small case, what are the taxes involved, how these taxes are calculated over a long run? Do we have any ELSS kind of scheme here in small case?
All taxes are same as you put amount at once actually. For more details it's better to check the site and faq provided by your partner with whom you have opened an account.
Thank you Rachna mam for these extremely informative videos delivered so very simply (which is a difficult task in itself). Im just beginning to research on small case and have found your videos extremely helpful. The fact that you come across as a very pleasant speaker helps a lot. Would you have any recommendation from your paid courses for someone who would like to understand personal finance management and growth?
Hello ma'am. I have a genuine doubt about subscription. If i subscribe to smallcase for an amount with validity of 3 months and invest in one of the fund via SIP. When my 3 months of subscription is finished: 1. Will i still be able to invest in the same fund via SIP without paying additional subscription money? 2. Will i still get rebalancing updates on that fund if i don't extend my subscription? Thank you ma'am.
1. You will be able to invest. The stocks are still yours. 2. If you are unsubscribed you will not receive rebalance updates. Subscription is your payment to the advisory for their services.
Ma'am I want your opinion whether mutual funds or smallcases is better to invest? And which platform is best to invest in mutual funds? Your views on coin by zerodha?
Many smallcases have etfs instead of stocks. Would it be a better investment for long term to invest in such smallcase or we should go with smallcases which contain company stocks.
Instead of investing in someone else’s Smallcase, we can create our own smallcase and invest as well as rebalance. I think this was not addressed in detail
