@@nschlaak No, it's not and that doesn't make sense based on what the word actually means. Satan would not have the power to save God's prophets from death when this word is used nor would he want to. That word, Al Makr, is translated as plotting, deceiving or planning. When it comes to God and his traits, they are always positive and praiseworthy; not blameworthy like when they apply to people. "Makr is defined as causing something to others in a hidden manner, and it also conveys the meanings of plotting and deceit" same like in the Bible when it says God sends delusions to those who deserve it. God punishes and destroys the oppressors and transgressors. This is a perfect quality when God counters the opponent's evil schemes with their like. Satan does not want to counter evil schemes.

But I still don't see how you can claim to believe in the perfectly revealed and received word of your Allah through your Muhd. when 1. you don't have any original manuscript from the 7th century 2. the diacritical marks in the Arabic script were not even added until 200 years later in the 9th century. 3. there are at least 34 variant Arabic Korans available today, some with significant textual differences (so much for the perfectly preserved Divine Word) 4. Muslims only standardised on a standard Koran text (shocking if it was supposed to be perfectly preserved and transmitted) in the 1920's! Everything I learned about Islam in school is false!!!!

Allah made it appear that Jesus died as a test for the disbelievers, Believing that Jesus died on the cross means nothing, believing he died for everyone's sins to be forgiven, risen from the dead etc, that's the problem that the Quran is mentioning. Next, there are Christian disbelievers, there are every kind of disbelievers, you do not understand the Quranic word because you are stuck in translations, not all translations say disbelievers... Avery's question ; Who made it appear that Jesus was Crucified? The simple answer is the Bible writers. In fact it was Jesus who tricked those who were not of His sheep.
Wake up. 1st and 2nd century historians all attest to Jesus' death and resurrection. Understand why Jesus had to die and you will understand why a 'trick' would not work. You can even explain what happened. Did Jesus trick the unbelievers? Or did God substitute Jesus with someone else in the cross? Maybe it was Judas? Maybe it was someone else?
