Read up on the core rules. Essentially when a character joins a unit, that unit has the character keyword, therefore it becomes a character unit.

We are in need of a clear ruling. WTC (which is the ruleset i usually play with) allows it. If you're playing in a tournament its a good idea to consult the TO first!

yes, because it isn't deepstrike! it doesn't say it goes to reserve etc, its an on table teleport.

Caladius are good, but you need to properly invest into them to be worth it. That means 2-3 of them. For reference let's imagine you shoot a single Caladius into something T10/T11 with a 2+ save or a 4++ with 12 or more Wounds. This is to represent the "ideal" target you'd wanna shoot at. 4 shots on 2's = 4 hits on average. Wounding on 3's with rerolls = 3 Wounds on average. (Lethal hits does not change that math so let's ignore it) Opponent has a 2+ save and probably cover because its so easy to get, or has a 4++ = 1,5 wounds, let's just round up to 2. Damage is D6+2 so average of 5 for a total of 10 damage meaning you on average fail to kill the target.

"The distance a model moves is measured using the part of its base that moves furthest along its path" In other words if you spin a model that previous part of the base has now "traveled a path" from where it started. You should be able to find the full sentence in the core rulebook under movement or movement phase. Don't exactly remember

No not really. Terrain is made to balance the game. The guys at WTC knew that shooting was gonna be a big part of 10th edition, and so terrain layouts were made to accommodate that fact. Balancing around a LR would be silly rather than how the overall game plays.

But also making tables where models you can have in your army not being able to move is also quite silly,, @@Rejnols
