My sister was 15 when she 1st went on this roller coaster (previously EXTREMELY afraid of them). We somehow managed to convince her, maybe a bribe of an extra starbucks drink or something I forget, for by the time we got off she was all "I need to go *AGAIN."* Barnstormer is definitely a great beginner coaster, especially if you're skipping Hollywood Studios, but this one is a pretty close second. *EXTREMELY* smooth, the queue is fun (and has a water fountain, always a plus), and it's always fun seeing kids on rides like these as they overreact to every single moment. Awesome experience.

It seems to me the "coil" on each cart is right in front of you, which looks "cool" for spectators looking at it from afar, but as a rider, it simply obstructs more of your view?

My 7 years old wants me to ride Slinky Dog with him, but I am absolutely terrified of coasters and this video did not reassure me. Any tips?

Hey Verybunnyful! We've got some people on our team who aren't the biggest fans of coasters either ;) This one is a pretty tame ride (as far as coasters go), and the first drop DEFINITELY looks worse than it is -- the cars really slow down when they get to the drops, but you can ask to sit in the front so you don't have the added momentum of being pulled through the curves. It's one of the smoothest coasters (with the comfiest seats) at WDW, plus each lap bar has hand grips to squeeze if you get nervous!
