Your shoes look so good like they are glossy. My black park avenue I put on some shoe color conditioner and now the color looks more matte and less black. I wonder if I just need to polish them with a slightly damp cloth?
@@sartorialsuccess7171 i followed because it came up in the USPS algorithm but subscribed because of the men's fashion reminds me of the elegant oxford and other channels. Anyway gonna start as a CCA this month wish me luck 🤷🏾
@@sartorialsuccess7171 I am putting together a order now, that I hope to place by Thursday, for 2-3 pairs of Carlos Santos. I was hoping for an Easter sale. 😒
Factory seconds are the exact same shoes as firsts but with slight problems to them. Maybe there’s a blemish or scratch in the leather. Or the stitching is a little off on 1 shoe. Or etc.
That's crazy. I fell in love with the Cornwall is as well. Hands down my favorite style. I got the walnut and navy blue. I think they are the best Adelaide last. I considered the Carlyle but I couldn't get away from the Cornwallis.
As you said in your video of Carlos santos... AE are amazing quality, but the shapes offer other brands (like santos or magnanni) are more attractive for my taste!
Great video, thank you. I learned a lot about Allen Edmonds. I have their First Avenue boot and I love it, but your comments about the limited last offerings makes me realize why AE is at the bottom end of the high quality shoe market. If you have not already, check out Carmina. They will make any of their styles on any of their lasts, and they have quite a selection of lasts. Their retail prices aren’t even that much more than AE, and they have a sale page too. I picked up a Chelsea boot today on their Inca last for $360, really not bad for such a high quality boot. Kirby Allison interviews Richard from the Carmina store in New York here on RU-vid, it’s really a cool and informative piece. Anyway, good luck in your continued shoe adventures!
For me its a last vs width issue. Yes carmina has more lasts but no variation in widths so AE so far is my best fit. Alden being 2nd best for width variation so 2nd best for me.
Knows very little about quality shoes. The elastic on the sides of those Chelsea boots is called the gore. The welted leather soles are covered with sole protectors.
Not impressed by AE's seconds. I've got a pair of Freeport Boot in suede and was utterly disappointed in the condition. It came with a lot of cosmetic issues. The welt was sewn with disproportional spacings, the back strap on the heel looks crooked, the insole on the left is crinkled (and you do feel it under your feet). It shouldn't even have left the factory as seconds. The material used is top notch, but the workmanship is on par with someone that is going through apprenticeship to learn the art. Yes, I bought it at a discount and returned it. Trying to sell these seconds made by a wannabe cobbler is a huge letdown.
