ALRIGHT HERE WE GO, WE’VE GOT THE WHOLE INTERVIEW, WELCOME TO VLADTV!!! This is your first time here, so I wanna start in the very beginning. So tell me about 2Pac…. It is what it is, Allen Hughes, always a pleasure, until next time… PEACE!!!
Great interview, honestly. Vlad keep bringing the guests we never knew we wanted, and Allen dropped some real gems. You can tell they both respected each others craft, Vlad as Hughes being a film maker, and Hughes for Vlad as a hip-hop record keeper.
Dead Presidents is an underrated classic, American Pimp is an amazing documentary, Menace 2 Society, From Hell… wow! The Hughes Brothers need more credit!
Great interview. Always loved the Hughes brothers. Them directing one of the most impactful movies ever (Menace) AT 20 YEARS OLD is one of cinema and storytelling's greatest accomplishments, which really should be talked about more. Much respect--they're definitely inspirations...E
This was a very good interview. People can criticize all that they want but I really enjoy Vlad's programs. It takes a lot of experience to keep an interview going. There are times when you must ask questions and bring up topics or situations to keep the conversation going. Some people are camera shy or just quiet individuals. In either case, it is up to the host to keep the conversation going. Vlad is very good at this. Some hosts/interviewers are rude and inconsiderate, their only concern is their own agenda. Thankfully, Vlad is not that type. He keeps his interviews on a level that is interesting and honest. Others could really take notes. Keep up the good work Vlad.. 😊
Good interview . A lot of respect for Hugh clearing it like how he did and the respect he has for Pac. You got to understand tupac was young and wild so its hard sometimes to be around . But he matured fast and loved like no other to his people.
I really appreciate this interview. Because after watching it I’m definitely going to make it a point to watch Dear Mama. A lot of people were calling me asking me did I watch it and I was like naw. Because of the turmoil between the Hughes Bros and Pac. I didn’t want to watch something I assumed might rub me the wrong way like when John Singleton wanted to put a R-Word scene in All Eyez On Me. I appreciate LT Hutton for debunking that too. But I have a better respect for the Hughes Bros after watching this. I have to circle back and watch the Defiant Ones too. Just keeping it real. Thanks for another interview I didn’t know I needed to watch.
That Dear Mama documentary was incredible. Man, the Hughes Brothers name is on that Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary too. Would love to know which all Hip Hop videos hey produced. If I'm an upcoming filmmaker I'm studying these guys.
Fantastic interview Vlad. At first I couldn't put my finger on it but does anybody see Jim Belushi's face while watching Allen Hughes speak or is it just me?
Menace was huge. Complex when thinking about the circumstances of how it was made and when. So much surrounding the story of this film but hey Dead Presidents man, to follow up like that? The soundtrack volume 1 & 2 secured what would become of my old soul. Smh. True storytellers with their own incredible stories. Flowers for the Hughes Bros. I went to see Menace multiple times as a kid. But Dead Presidents man...I wish films were easier to make cause we definitely needed more Hughes Brothers & Larenz Tate. I'd love a story connected to Menace like a follow up with the space of a series to really dive in and explore the future of this film without having to explicitly say they're connected. The Pac doc was beautiful. And Book of Eli one of my favorite Denzel films. Love Gary Oldman's part, had me thinking about his Stansfield role.
I always assumed Pac shaved his head rite after did Juice cuz Juice was shot in March 91 and there was a interview he did 91 with Digital Underground he's wearing cap but u can see underneath his hair completely gone then there's the 2Pacaplyse Now album its picture of him in the liner notes he still had his fade and my guess is he had to record the in late 90-early 91 the least so noone knows and besides in 91 Pac couldn't been of Oynx Oynx didn't blow up until late 93 I'm a hip hop head I know 😉
Hey vlad idk if you look at the comments but ask Allen Hughes to look into doing a documentary on alabama football bro? Alabama football is a dynasty. I think he could really do a great job and bring a different light to sports.
Salute Vlad and Allen I love the energy between these two especially about the watch because most mfkas would just hate on the low about it but Vlad let him wear it and all two legendary guys love bros!!!
Y’all got to realize anybody who breathed the same air as Tupac life is no longer about themselves. Their new lives is to bless us with Pac stories😁 even Snoop can’t dodge the Tupac questions as much as he would like to put that behind him😆
9:17 Wasn’t it said in the “Dear Mama” documentary that PAC’s hair wasn’t growing back right after the Oakland PD left scars on his head from the beating?
Im glad Allen Hughes said that about Tupac changing into bishop after Juice came out because its true his fans always wanna say hes this super gangster and he wasnt hes an actor.
For that dude to be aware and coherent enough to say FOOK YOU to a cop while you are dying!! That's so hardcore shyt right there man!!!!! When you are hurt or hurting, you are looking for anyone to save your ass!!!!✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿!!!! Solid. MuthaF
Anyone that Hated on the Hughes Brothers solely on the basis of 2Pacs side of the story in my opinion are complete idiots! Imagine not knowing somebody but take complete bias to their account of a story by Hating on someone else. I like 2Pac the same as most but can completely see why People back then would find it hard to work with him. Every person down to his Mother that knew him said that he was difficult. Doesnt make him Evil (before you Nutjobs jump out your Panties), just hard to tolerate. I fully believe Albert and many others when they say he was disrupting the film process, then they get assulted (physically & verbally) for following procedure that civilized people take, and prople turn round and Hate on them and try to boycott them and take sides with someone they didnt even know. I Swear the stupidity of man never cease to Amaze me. I'd be bitter against someone too if they assulted me without proper reason. I dont Blame him for making money off his Ass. That's his compensation. Come at me Suckers!😂
It was only a matter of time before someone retaliates against being assaulted. Not everyone is going to take an L from being sucker punched and jumped. Stories like the Sam Sneed beaatdown, beating up studio engineers for rewinding the song too far, J-Flex run in with the Outlawz, it's not hard to see how Pac had a lot of enemies.
Vlad I know u got a job to do. Allen is a man. You keep bringing up old stuff with Tupac that man fill some type of way still. Cmon vlad have some respect for the game
Menace was more real to us because it was literally what we was living....American me was a prison film but we knew an odog we knew an awax we knew a Kane we also knew that crack head trying to sell everything..l.a. early 90s was ugly
You can tell Alan wants to be real and just come out and tell people that Tupac was not who he portrayed himself to be , he was just a typical fake thug playing out an image. But Alan is a business man so he's constantly being conscience not to offend the little Tupac idolizers out there
