The biggest change occurred on the first NBA2K on Dreamcast

Man I'll never forget the Christmas I got NBA live 2000 and NBA shootout 2000 legit playing them back to back and loving the differences in both games. What a great time to it was to be a gamer.

As someone who owned NBA Live 2000, I remember thinking it was a bold move for a simulation game to arbitrarily decide they wanted some of their dunks to send players 17 feet into the air. Live's toe-dip into those arcade elements is what led me to try NBA 2K2 a few years later. The rest is history.
