MANCHESTER UNITED wait, i don’t remember asking. Also, absolutely no one likes soccer in america, it won’t be the number one sport. just because more places play soccer, doesn’t mean that soccer is superior
Timing and instinct. He can judge how his opponents body leans and moves better than any I have ever seen. To make that cross work requires timing you cant just do it fast. Anybody can cross fast.
Love AI but sixer had the sixth player of the year, also defense player of the year? plus not bad PG, team build for him just let him score.and he did it. tough guy
I just cant get enough how influential this guy is to me his style his swag his playing style his handling its mesmerizing to watch dude has great charisma
That Jordan moment gives me goosebumps every time ... he didn’t really break his ankles, but the fact that it was Jordan (short shorts Jordan!) just makes it legendary
I know what you mean man I was watching that game when it happened actually did it two times first he crossed them then he stepped back and did it again
In my lifetime I've seen most of the greatest ball handles in NBA history from Zeke Thomas to Jordan to KJ to Mark Price to Tim Hardaway to Kenny Anderson to Damon Stoudemire to Kobe to Nash to Starbury to Steve Francis to White Chocolate to Jamal Crossover to CP3 to Derrick Rose to Kyrie to Steph to Kemba Walker and I've even tried to watch as much footage of those sick ball handlers before my time like Earl the Pearl, Clyde Frazier, Tiny Archibald, and Norm Nixon but Iverson remains, in my opinion, the most devastating ball handler of all-time! He advanced what everybody before him did and set the blueprint for everybody after him. Before him, you didn't see somebody who had multiple combo isos, left to right crossover, stepbacks and go's, stepbacks behind the back, hesitation dribble fake, and the ability to just break you off real nasty with his iconic "banned" crossover, etc...He will always be the measuring stick but I don't think he will be surpassed because the NBA outlawed his signature move for palming but in the '90s and early 2000s for us kids growing up, we know the NBA was simply hating because he was making a mockery of the NBA's defense!
Phenomenal comment! As comprehensive as it can get. I love the fact you researched the old school cats like Earl The Pearl, Tiny, etc. Thankful I lived in Philly those days. AI took a team and a city...dragged them to the NBA Finals.
the most impressive feat is how his ankles and knees stayed on his legs for all those 48 min per game, 82+ games per season, more than 10 years straight
My man Iverson.. had every color Jersey from the Sixers. This is the dude I couldn't miss. I had to watch him every game when I was younger. Broke ankles for sure
Yea a 94 is bs he was rated 99 when the first 2k game came out... He's at least a 97 in his prime averaged 33 ppg 7.5 assists on 46% in 06 not many players could top stats like that
He wouldn't use it every time down the court. He used to set them up by using his first step and then stop and pop after a few of those he would start hitting them with the crossover and it was guaranteed to get them because of his speed.
Let's not forget Iverson also invented the "euro step" 5:01 is from the 90's. That was Armstrong, the pg, who got euro'd/Ginobli'd/Harden'd.......I call it the AI step
Kyrie is about the closest player in todays nba to iverson. Both are lightning fast with elite ball handling skills. Oh, and they both can finish at an elite level as well. Better cherish Kyrie while he’s still playing….
Iverson's mid range game was so underrated. You don't lead the league in scoring if you aren't a good shooter. Prime Iverson was something we will never see because they don't make em tough like him anymore. He was a football player first so..what a special athlete he was.
What haven't A.I. did or bring to the NBA he did the arm sleeve then the leg compressors a new crossover and they say he ain't on the same level as Jordan or kobe.
Incredible, fantastic NBA Player during his career.he did a lot, he did everything.I can say that he was one of the most greatest NBA Players even though he never gain NBA Championship Title.such amazing basketball athlete.. OK "the answer", AI.
Some good music in this video. Anyone that says A.I. is overrated is either blind or a complete fool. With all due respect to Jordan, Magic, Bird, etc., what he did considering his size, makes him the best in my opinion.
Imagine being the dude who taught Iverson how to do the crossover 😳 …. I wonder if family and friends believed him when he told them “yea I taught AI how to do that…” 😂 😂 (Dean Berry)
Be lucky he wasn’t 6’6 And ppl underestimate his dribble ability His left, right, and depending on what leg you had already back sliding another left, left, hesi step right, left. I mean the boy jus had it. He dribbled like boxers throw punches.
NEVER see an AI highlight where you're like he pushed off. He created SO much space with his handle that people weren't even CLOSE enough to push off 😆
First and foremost he was a great athlete, I guarantee no NBA player wanted to guard him. Definitely one of the most exciting players in the past 30 years.
People forget the Isaiah Thomas used to do Michael Jordan to like that, Mike had a hard time holding little guards. He said it himself they are so low to the ground and quick
Ankle breaker or anyone whats the song that starts at 7.50 in the video?. Forgive my ignorance I live under a rock in NSW Australia - its not mentioned in the music list - awesome song befitting Iverson - He just needed a mad team to get a ring and that was out of his control.
and people say Kyrie is better or lebron has more load management the guy literally went to the finals against the Shaq and Kobe lakers and won a game but not the finals but a game
1:40 nobody remember what happen when Jordan came down court tho lol he dunked on he all crazy plus one other player I forget who but he got his payback
imagine A.I. Jason Williams, Prime derrick rose, Kobe, Jordan . in one team vs Lebron, curry, harden , Irving Durant and even the rest of today's NBA stars..
Wow, He was one of my favorite basketball player. It’s because of him that I bought NBA 2K3 on my N64 in 2003, it was on the cover of this great game! The worst is that I didn’t even take his team, I played with the Lakers:) Remember the commentator yelling, "Kobeeee Bryaannnt!" .......... (sorry for my poor english, i'm French, i do my best in your language) Thx for reading me, RIP my dear Kobe !
My opinion, I feel Jordan knows there are players as good as him and maybe better but he had the best team I’d say. Just look at Allen’s, Kobe, Lebron but we will never know for sure until we see shit happen
At 6'6" he probably wouldn't have had those same ball handles though. Part of his effectiveness was him being 5'11". It allowed him to be closer to the ground than other players, which made his crossovers so deadly. He basically turned his "weakness" into a strength. Which is admirable to say the least
He is still the absolute greatest of all time pound for pound. You sound stupid trying to say he was bad. He was without a doubt more skilled than jordan.
Man I remember studying his crossover move from his and1 street ball video back n high school. Lol I practiced that move for like 5-6 weeks straight until it finally clicked cuz it’s a lot harder than it looks. (And I obviously STILL never got it like AI) but that move was nasty. It’s one of those rare moves that even though u know it’s coming it still works cuz if u try and cheat/anticipate it towards the cross, u could just keep going left and STILL break them ankles so that move is the toughest I’ve seen to defend if ur keeping the defense honest
