In this final video of four on Allen Parr's "If You're Doing this ONE Thing, You May Not Be Saved" video, Bob Wilkin and Mike Lii examine the one thing that Allen Parr claims that if you do then you may not be saved. Find out about "Buffet Christianity" means, and whether this is a biblical way to tell if you are saved.

Great coverage here GES. To make a long story short, I was once mentored by Pastor Dan. H. out of Bellevue, NE. Great man. About 2+ years ago, I fell away, I stopped believing because of self hatred from recurring sin, as even true believers can do according to Scripture. Fast forward to today because of a loving wife God sent me, I'm back in the fold. Even though I backslid horribly even to the point of mocking my "former faith" when I was in unbelief, God sought after me as the one lost sheep among the 99. Christ is more compassionate and merciful than any of us can imagine. God didn't have to come get me back, but he did. Blessings.

Allen is saying if you truly believe you will obey the word. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

With all love: John 3:36 ‘obey’ is actually the word ‘believeth’ in the KJV ‘He that believeth on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.’ NKJV says ‘believe’ in both parts of this verse.

If they believe what Allen says, you are not putting confidence in the blood of Jesus instead, you are putting confidence in your own obedience which can never save

Obedience save it shows whether you are saved. Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone AND TO BE HOLY, WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 IN FLAMING FIRE TAKING VENGEANCE ON them that know not God, AND THAT OBEY NOT the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 9WHO SHALL BE PUNISHED WITH EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. 1 Corinthians 10:21You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription “The Lord knows those who are his, and, “EVERYONE WHO CONFESSED THE NAME OF THE LORD MUST TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS.” Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him being abominable and disobedient, and unto every good work. 1 John 2:4 He that saith I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. If one is saved he will be a new creation in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5 15,17 And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

I used to listen to Alan Parr all the time and thought he was solid, after discovering GES and the free grace doctrine and truly believe it is the TRUTH. Now I see all the false teachings in Alan's videos, I'm not trying to be negative, but it sounds so self righteous when he knows of who is saved or who may not be even though he had a little disclaimer. When in fact, the narrow gate is Jesus himself, and nothing else,, as the Messiah our savior. 🎶🐦

I shared The Gospel on a TikTok page saying all we had to do is simply believe in Jesus Christ for eternal life. Believe he did the finished work on the cross for the sins of the world and people came at me with “gotta obey”, “faith without works is dead. Someone even told me John 3:16 but then goes back to how you gotta live. The simplicity of The Gospel bothers people. All Jesus said to do is believe, but a lot of people think it’s performance based to get into heaven when it’s faith based

It's very tragic that Allen Parr has fallen into Calvinism/Lordship Salvation despite the fact that he was once Free Grace in his doctrine and graduated from DTS. I believe Allen is saved and possesses eternal life. However, Acts 20:30 and 1 Timothy 4:1, and Galatians chapter 3 accurately describes Allen in his present state.

@@ok-qt4kr In regards to Allen, like I earlier mentioned, Acts 20:30, 1 Timothy 4:1 and Galatians ch. 3 is true of Allen and many others. Steve Lawson is another example. Steve once attended Dallas Theological Seminary which was a seminary that was world renowned for teaching Free Grace/eternal security/once saved always saved (don't know about now) and was taught the true gospel where he earned his "Th.M" in theology. I believe Steve is saved. However, somewhere down the line Steve attends "Reformed Theological Seminary" which is no doubt a Calvinist seminary and it was there that he earned his "D.Min" degree and became a full fledged Calvinist/Lordship Salvationist. I believe Steve is also affiliated with R.C. Sproul's Ligonier Ministries. Tragic because now he is leading people to hell with the false gospel of Calvinism/Lordship Salvation. Again, I believe Lawson is saved, but has fallen into doctrinal error and is misleading many down the wrong road. This is how Satan can use saved people who have fallen into doctrinal error to deceive and mislead unsuspecting people to hell - Acts 20:30, 1 Timothy 4:1.

The best buffet I ever been in was the Golden Corral. This buffet was always economical to enter and broad in its potential selections. The cooking and preparation of all the menu was always superb. I always left this buffet STUFFED. I generally ate far more than was healthy. I really love variety and count it as the old saying goes, "Variety is the SPICE OF LIFE!" Yes I tend to sample everything offered at the buffet but I can never say I sampled everything there from all the meats chicken pork ham and fish to all the veggies to all the desserts. Neither can i say I had a full plate of everything offered at the buffet. If I did I would probably have gout, blow up like a balloon, or be dead of a stroke or heart attack. I also am verging on being a type 2 like most Americans who reach my age so I have to watch what I eat and how much carbs and sugars. As for drinks I like to take my favorite spring water with me for I do not like tap water from any city and am wary of the beverages made from it. I do not see any Bible teacher that will teach the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation and certainly not in one day. Though Dr John Vernon McGee used to claim to do this I most certainly know he skipped over a whole lot of material in the Bible though I went around. I went through his 5 year bus trip twice as well as sat under different pastors and teachers in various denominations. He seemed only to hit certain points within the scriptures in his commentary and never really thoroughly dealt with everything in between. His radio commentary was only there to familiarize you with where to find what. As far as eating the whole buffet I never was a walking bible like Jack Van Impe who had a photographic or eidetic memory. As far as the Whole Word for the Whole World goes his commentaries never fully explained either the Whole Word in the context of The Whole Word nor did it ever explain how the Whole Word presently interfaced with and applied to the Whole World around us. Yet how can any one ever testify to anyone as being saved or how to get saved if you had to learn and understand everything in all the Books of the Bible? If you want to say that you were saved then how could you ever say that? Then of course when you include dispensations there is such dispute as to which parts of the Bible are only FOR US to read and which parts of the Bible are TO US to obey and enjoy the benefits or penalties thereof? If you need to know understand and properly apply all the Bible then there are scholars who have spent their whole lives trying to do so. Again I say there is a difference between eternally saved and simply safe. Why preach or teach any gospel if such a gospel does not guarantee you to be saved? How can you possibly call your gray areas a gospel that saves? How then can you claim that Jesus died for your sins by simply believing this if those sins do not include all your sins with the kind manner timing and duration thereof IRRELEVANT?

@stephenbarningham330 Stephen, Scripture states they were indeed believers who did miracles in Jesus's Name, (not in their name). And Jesus does not say that He sends them to Hell because they don't have faith in Him and His grace but because they don't care for or help the poor, the sick, and the prisoners. Read the New Testament, and don't twist its meaning. There are plenty of passages warning of attachment to money and how it threatens salvation. Do not deceive yourself and expect to be saved by faith and grace ALONE if you don't care about and help the suffering and underprivileged and hoard all your material riches for yourself and your family. Or if you live in unrepentant and habitual sin.The world is full of false believers who expect to be saved by faith and grace alone while they live lives of hypocrisy and in disobedience to Christ.

@AdamH-fq1rs Adam, don't twist my words or those of Scripture. No one is righteous, and no one is saved without Christ's salvific work on the Cross. Faith in one's works does NOT save, but neither does faith alone in God's grace if you don't love and help others and if you live in disobedience "including you" 🤣 It's very interesting how many Christians want to believe that all they have to do to be saved is believe in Christ's grace and that they don't have to do anything to show evidence of true faith in Christ and spiritual regeneration like abstain from sin, evangelise or give to those less fortunate. Jesus does not say that He sends those who worked miracles in His Name (Matthew 25) to Hell because they don't have faith in Him and His grace but because they don't care for or help the poor, the sick, and the prisoners. Read the New Testament, and don't twist its meaning. There are plenty of passages warning of attachment to money and how it threatens salvation. It is Christ's grace that saves, not works. However, He bestows this grace and salvation on genuine (not false) believers with a saving faith expressed through the loving care and charity shown to others. Christ condemns hell believers who don't care about or help the sick, prisoners, and poor. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven... Looks like you think your behavior (works) will determine your Everlasting destination . But that contradicts Ephesians 2:8-9 ; Romans 3:20-5:11,11:6 ; Titus 3:5 ; Phillipians 3:9 ; & the book of Galatians . Along with every conceivable Evangelistic/Everlasting Life passage in the Bible . So , you've got an insuperabable dilemma . You've got to pony up the precise quantification of your behavioral performance till death in order to certify your affirmation . This , you cannot do , objectively and exegetically . This undeniably means that you Cannot know your eternal destination, because your works are clearly flawed , and are never an infallible metric . Because faith is not works . But your position affirms this completely incoherent and frankly impossible proposition .

September 1, 2011 by GES Webmaster in Grace in Focus Articles By John Claeys The description of the judgment begins with this statement in Matt 25:31: “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.” Thus, this judgment occurs immediately after Jesus’ glorious return to the earth at the end of the Tribulation. As Jesus sits on His throne as Judge, the nations will be brought to Him and separated into two groups, the “sheep” on His right and the “goats” on his left (Matt 25:32). The word for nations is the same word for Gentiles, which shows us that this judgment concerns Gentiles, not Jews. It is also important to understand that the nations always refers, in the Bible, to people who are alive on the earth. This means that the judgment of the nations is a judgment of those Gentiles who survive the Tribulation period. Group #1: The Blessed (Surviving Gentile Followers of Christ) Jesus says to the sheep set to his right, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matt 25:34). The blessing given to the sheep is that they will inherit the Kingdom, because they attended to Jesus’ needs by aiding Him in various ways. Jesus explains this enigmatic saying by indicating that “inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Clarifying the Reward: Inheritance vs. Entrance Many understand Jesus to be promising this group entrance into the kingdom. However, note that He does not say, “Enter the kingdom.” Instead, He proclaims: ” Inherit the kingdom.” Entering the kingdom no more means the same as inheriting the kingdom as entering a house means the same as inheriting a house. Anyone who carefully reads Matt 25:34-40 sees that inheriting the kingdom is obtained as a result of good works, not as a result of faith in Christ. Putting this information together, it is clear that inheriting the kingdom is a reward for faithfulness to Christ-specifically, it refers to ruling in the kingdom (cf. Lev 25:46; Ps 2:8). Verses 34-40 surface those good works that lead the “sheep” to inheriting the kingdom. “The Least of These My Brethren” The demonstrative pronoun these, in the expression “these My brethren,” indicates there is another (a third) group present at this judgment. Since all surviving Gentiles will be among the two groups to be judged, the final group present during this judgment-the group not being judged at this judgment-must consist of believing Jews who survive the Tribulation. These are Jews who believe in Jesus Christ for eternal life during the final seven years before His return and who follow Him in obedience; thus, they are Jesus’ brethren in a physical and spiritual sense. This comports with Jesus’ announcement earlier in Matthew that Jewish believers who are obedient to God are His brethren (Matt 12:49-50). Run for Your Lives!” In order for Jewish believers in Christ to survive the Tribulation, they will need to flee for their lives immediately upon the occurrence of the abomination of desolation. To complicate matters, they will not be able to take anything with them-no possessions, money, extra clothing, etc. These Jewish believers will not be able to buy or sell anything because they will have refused to take the mark of the beast (Rev 13:16-18). The Needs of “the Least of These My Brethren” Certainly they will have needs that will have to be met throughout the final three and a half years before Jesus returns. These needs are addressed in verses 35 and 36 of Jesus’ declaration in Matthew 25: They will be hungry, thirsty, away from home (strangers), and in need of clothing. Also, some will become sick and some will end up in prison as a result of being captured by the troops sent out by Satan’s world ruler. Thus they will have much need for help. To sum it up, when they obey Christ’s command, they will flee without any possessions other than the clothes on their backs (Matt 24:17-18). And since, during this time, they will not be able to buy or sell anything, they will need others to help them. While Gentile believers may well receive aid from unbelieving family members and friends, Jewish believers who have fled will not have any support network. They will need help from Gentiles. The Reward for Helping Jesus’ Brethren The risk involved for helping these Jewish believers will be tantamount to risking one’s life. This is because the world ruler at that time will be driven by Satan to wipe out God’s chosen people, particularly those who faithfully follow Christ (Rev 12:1-6, 13-17). Thus, Gentile believers who help Jesus’ brethren will be risking their lives. For that, Jesus will reward them (cf. Matt 16:25, 27; see also Matt 10:16-42) by granting them the reward of inheriting the kingdom (i.e., ruling with Him). A Missing Group: Unfaithful Believers So far, we have seen three groups of people who will physically survive the seven-year tribulation period-faithful Gentile followers of Christ, faithful Jewish followers of Christ, and unbelieving Gentiles. The reason there will not be any unfaithful believers present is that they will not survive the Tribulation period. Earlier in the Olivet Discourse Jesus revealed, “He who endures to the end shall be saved” (Matt 24:13). The Greek word for endure is often used in the NT of believers in Christ remaining faithful to Him through difficult times (cf. 1 Cor 4:12; Rom 12:12; 2 Tim 2:10, 12; Heb 12:7; Jas 1:12; 5:11; 1 Pet 2:20), especially persecution. Thus, in Matt 24:13, Jesus is describing possessors of eternal life who will remain faithful to Christ through the ultimate of difficult times, the Great Tribulation (cf. Matt 24:21). The expression to the end (in Matt 24:13) does not refer to the end of one’s life (as some teach), but to the end of the age, the end of the Tribulation (cf. Matt 24:3, 6, 14). Finally, the Greek word for saved here refers to deliverance from physical death. Just nine verses after His declaration in 24:13, Jesus announced: “And unless those days [the Tribulation] were shortened, no flesh would be saved” (emphasis added). Clearly, Jesus is declaring in verse 22 that if this seven-year era was much longer, no one would physically survive it. The only believers who will physically survive the Tribulation are those who remain faithful through the extreme difficulties of that era. This does not mean that all faithful believers will physically survive the Tribulation. Some will be martyred. However, the statement does communicate that no unfaithful believer will survive the Tribulation. This is why no unfaithful believers are represented among the Gentile survivors of the Tribulation in the judgment of Matt 25:31-46.

(Continued: Matthew 25:31-46 John Claeys) Group #2: The Cursed (Unbelieving Gentiles) Understanding this prepares us for the next declaration in this judgment: “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'” Jesus explains that the goats will receive this judgment because of their failure to help Him. They will respond by asking: “Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?” His answer to them shows the basis of this judgment: “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.” As a result, “these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Judged for Treatment of Jewish Believers It is critical to remember that this judgment will be based on how Tribulation survivors treated Jewish believers in Christ during the last three and a half years before Christ returns to the earth. Those on Jesus’ right hand will be rewarded for risking their lives to meet the needs of Jewish believers, while those on Jesus’ left hand will be cast “into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” Eternal Experience Based on Works? Clearly, Jesus does not say in these verses that they will go into everlasting fire because of their refusal to help His Jewish brethren; for that would indicate eternal condemnation based on works. That is the quagmire into which Lordship Salvationists fall. To see His reply in that way is to buy into a works-based salvation. Jesus clearly announces in the Gospel of John1 that eternal condemnation is experienced only by those who have not believed in Him for eternal life (see John 3:16-18; 5:24; 11:25-26). One’s works do not affect where one spends eternity. However, one’s works do affect one’s experience in eternity (cf. Ps 62:12; Prov 24:12; Eccl 12:14; Matt 16:27; 2 Cor 5:9-10; Rev 20:11-13). This includes the experience unbelievers will have in relation to their punishment.2 While all unbelievers will go into the everlasting fire (which includes separation from God for eternity), their experience throughout eternity will vary from one another. In fact, the Bible indicates that unbelievers could have very different eternal experiences from one another. The unbelievers appearing at the judgment of Matt 25:31-46 will experience a special everlasting punishment (v 46), which will be so significant, it is pictured as the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels (v 41). Wrapping It Up Jesus will make all things right as He wraps up the Tribulation period by this judgment. There will be varying experiences for all people in eternity based on their varying responses to God’s Word. But Matt 25:31-46 especially teaches how important Abraham’s descendants are to the Lord. In application, we should regularly pray for their salvation (cf. Rom 10:1). In addition, we should extend mercy by defending them to others. Finally, we can teach in our churches the importance of Jews to God and His plan; (for Christians are subject to the growing deception of replacement theology). As our hearts align with God’s, by the extension of mercy toward His chosen people, we are preparing for the possibility of inheriting the Kingdom. 1. The Gospel of John is the only book in the Bible with the stated purpose of being written so that individuals will receive eternal life by believing in Jesus Christ for it. That makes the Gospel of John the place in the Bible to look to find out how to receive eternal life and, conversely, how to avoid eternal condemnation. 2. Jesus announces that the unbelieving religious leaders will experience a greater condemnation than that of other unbelievers because of their behavior in positions of power and influence (Matt 23:14; Mark 12:38-40; Luke 20:46-47). In addition, note that unbelievers will be judged according to their works in Rev 20:12-13.

Your quote of James 2 fails to mention who this book was written to : the already born again brethren . Justification before men is in view here , not before God as Paul clearly articulated in Ephesians 2:8-9 ; Romans 3:20-5:11,11:6 ; Titus 3:5 ; Phillipians 3:9 ; & the book of Galatians . Along with every single Evangelistic/Everlasting Life passage in Scripture . Because faith is not works , the only issue is : "faith in WHAT , precisely ?" Jesus doesn't make it a "hide-n-seek" game of "keepaway" . Nor does He ever condition the reception of the free gift of endless Life upon OUR faithfulness/obedience (works) . If that were true , we're ALL toast . Rather , in His every Evangelistic encounter , He only mentions simple childlike faith in Him for His doubtless Guarantee of Everlasting Life: John 3:1-18,4:1-39,5:24,6:28-47,chapter 10, 11:23-27 . Once received by faith , forever born . Therefore , it's only His faithfulness that secures the forever gift. Not our frail , fallible , fickled , unreliable efforts to hopefully , maybe , possibly behave (work) enough to hit the finish line with a completely unknowable and non quantifiable Report Card of requisite behaviors .

Scripture never contradicts scripture. Man tries to contradict scripture he doesn't like with others. Not one of those scriptures contradict Jesus's words. Jesus Himself says we must strive to enter the narrow gate. Luke 13:23-30 kj Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north and from the south and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.30And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. The gate is narrow because the process is hard, and the perspective we need to see the entrance to the narrow gate comes only through the Savior, Christ Jesus. We don’t do it on our own but operate by the power of Christ, in us, so God receives all the glory. The goal of the narrow gate starts with repentance followed by obedience to live a life that glorifies God. It may seem counterproductive to fight through the narrow gate of persecution and hardship by resting in Jesus. His burden is light, He promises. Putting it down all that entangles us is difficult! However, the possibility of missing our chance at eternity is extremely plausible if we clutch onto sinfull desires, lusts and pursuits of the world the wide gate. Destruction means a loss that produces utter ruin, perishing and here refers to loss of eternal life with God and being cast into the lake of fire.

Dear Grace Evangelical Society, I think I kind of understand what both of you are saying. It does seem to me that Parr does not adequately explain his point. He does emphasize that they "may not be saved", but I didn't really understand him to say you are definitely NOT saved. How could he definitively know ? I would agree that those who do this "buffet method of Christianity" may exhibit behaviors that would lead one to legitimately question the authenticity of their salvation. This is kind of the idea that you will know them by their fruits, idea. Scripture does tell us that there is work to be done in the process of Salvation, and that work was done by Jesus Christ, so the provision has been made and now salvation is offered to us in the basis of faith in his finished work as a gift of grace to all and any who accept the gift of salvation I would not add to that. I give Parr the benefit of a doubt on the basis that I don't think he adequately explained what he actually is trying to communicate. To get to the bottom of the issue, it would be much more appropriate to have Parr on your show to directly ask him about his views specifically, than to assume we know exactly what he was trying to express. This is the way we as Christians should handle these kind of things. "Love is patient and kind; Love bears all things" Be Well, DZ

Dear@alvinfen4511 , Hello ! Thanks for the response ! I don't see anything that you said that was inconsistent with what I said. My statement was intended to be brief and concise, not a detailed explanation. Your statement accurately expanded upon what I said, by adding more detail, but not really more essence. Well said ! And I agree with pretty much everything you said, and have held that perspective for the last 50 years. Be Well, in Him, DZ

The church of Corinth was licentious at some point that's the point of 1st cor 6:10 I think Allen is doing it out of deep concern with this kinda attitude and his concern can someone like that be saved well was the church of Corinth saved when they encouraged the man in incest and sayings things like food is for the belly and belly for the food to excuse there sexual urges...does this not sound like buffet Christianity it's disingenuous in a biblical perspective to say that but I perfectly understand why he thinks that
