I find it much easier to perform "lurker stop" than allied mines. All of the "lurker stop" micro commands are basic and common throughout the game..."a" and "s". Opening up the diplomacy window and selecting/unselected the boxes is way more disruptive to the flow of game play. Either one can be practiced to mastery, though.
@Yavin1v but it's not only producing. It is controlling them with simple clicks like mineral gathering - you won't consider it micro right? It's part of the macro play. It's a complex view of what is happening on a larger scale at least I understand it that way. Not just production.
WhiteShark i hope u know that people that use lurker stop don't use the actual stop button. U make the lurker attack opponent's building in fog war and select attack when you release...
Many people do use "s" with the fog of war method. Of course you can also use attack. There are a few other ways as well, but I cited the most micro-intensive example for the sake of comparing allied mines to lurker stop. "I hope you know..." lol...why don't you get off your soap box.
But like the name implies, STOP lurkers can be achieved simply by spamming "S" key and doesn't require you to ally the other guy. Maybe that's why it's legal?
