Thanks for the video. Good to see the old girl working. I did not even know that overloaders existed until I saw one on either Classic Restos or Low Gear about 5 or 6 years ago.
no worrys, i think i remember reading that 10 of the HD7 Overloaders that were made for Australia. not sure if they made them else where? Funny enough the first machine i every looked at buying was a HD7 over loader. i should have not past on it. i have regretted it ever since.
@@michaelguerin56 yep. There is always something. But at the time its ether, money, space or time issues. I wish i could collect everything i find and shed it under cover
Hi Dan, how you doing? Really interesting, I’ve seen pictures of these before but not operating. I didn’t know they were Buckeye whose claim to fame were they’re trenchers. I guess those were developed to drain the “great black swamp” of northern Indiana and Ohio. I have a Buckeye crane, also rare item I believe. I wonder if they produced any other excavating equipment as I said I believe they are mainly known for they’re trenchers.
ive been busy working, backs still giving me troubles. this is the only one ive seen operate, the second machine ive seen in person (the first i looked at buying, and regret not doing so). Hopfully next event i can get abit closer and shoe how it works a bit better. i did not get to talk to the owners. I think they had a Buckeye trencher there at the show also. I have to agree, im not sure of much else Buckeye, and did not know they made the overloader for this machine ether. hope your well, Geoff.
Hey mate I’ve seen your previous video it’s really old and because this video is new I know you still upload. I’ve been meaning to ask but with the Datsun L18 video you posted many years ago did you end up getting the specs for it ?
my brother cant really remember, there was some magic going on inside it from the bloke in melbourne that originally built it. Was just L18, L20b crank, unsure on rods. Mild head work. Basic cam for low end torque, 45mm webbers. we think its had SR20det flat top pistions.
@@angussherlock8548 no worrys. The moror was originally built by a bloke in Melbourne. He did alot if rally stuff. He was a older bloke back then i think. The motor was meant to be something of a freak setup that just worked out perfect for rally
Have say, I think old mate was nursing it a bit too much. Would've been interesting to see how much he could've loaded it up before dumping. PS Cab is off and they're making a start on all the sheaves. Pricing new boom hoist cable and Pendents. Will send pickies tomorrow
yes, he did seem to be taking it easy, though no point pushing it if he doesnt need to. it is a old girl and not a lot of the overloader setups around. i think somthing like 10 were made?
