Allosauroidea is a large group of carnivore dinosaurs related to Allosaurus. They originated in the Jurassic period and spread globally. Carcharodontosaurids are one of the most successful families of this lineage, rivaling T.rex or Spinosaurus as the largest hunters of the Cretaceous.
