It made me laugh when you said you paid $100,000 for your property with a large lot. I live in southern California where you can hardly buy a garage for 100,000! The house I live in now my husband and I bought for $12,500 in 1963 is now assessed for 2 million. Crazy. We bought other property as soon as we could when we were young, paid everything off asap. Now my husband has died and i live debt free in my first little house which is perfect for this old senior girl. So happy for you. If I could give you one tip, aim for a balanced life. Look after other people who need help. Make sure that at the end of your life you have developed wonderful memories, have traveled and made friends all over the world. You don't need to be rich in money, just have enough for yourself and some to share. Don't forget to laugh a lot and love others. Wishing you the very best Dalton.

I'm in the middle of refinishing a dinette set for my sister at the present time. I just got back from the garage minutes before you posted this video. My dad was a firefighter, carpenter, auto mechanic, artist etc. I followed him around and watched him. I loved learning from him. He was a perfectionist when it came to any job he was working on at the time. He chewed tobacco and would only speak when necessary (when he was working). So anyway, my guess is your subscribers are older on YT than on Tik Tok. We appreciate common sense and hard work. You're doing a fantastic job!

Your videos are great at teaching and techniques...They also show, that anyone can do things if they work hard. You may be shocked that a lot of your subscribers on YT will be middle aged to older, with the renovation on this house. It’s motivating to see hard working people and even more amazing to see someone so young doing this. I can honestly say, I won’t be interested in seeing dirt bike riding, I would skip those type of videos. I subscribed with the excitement of seeing you do projects at your newly purchased home that needs a lot of work. It was exciting to find out you were surprised with more land than you thought belonged to you. You seem very motivated and hard working and it will be exciting to watch any Progress you make. Dont worry about answering everyone’s comments, thats not really expected, eventually there will be too many and impossible. There will always be trolls making negative comments, just block them and keep streaming along!

I grew up dirt poor, my father never taught me a damn thing. I worked blue collar my whole life, knowing that if I wanted anything I had to figure it out myself. You have such a huge jump on life as young as you are. You have success written across your forehead in huge letters. You can count on followers showing support and interest because you're the real deal. Something you don't often see these days. There's nothing wrong with changing your plan as you go along. Now we will have more confidence in your ability to figure it all out. I've watched other channels where people get in over their head almost immediately. At seventy four years old I stand to learn a few things from you. Foundation work would have scared me off. I just never had the knowledge. This kind of project has the good, the bad and the ugly parts. It won't go smoothly all the way. That's what I meant by seeing the failures. We just want to see what goes south and how you overcome problems as well as what works the first time. No doubt you'll win in the end.

Living in southern California, I'm jealous of the amount of land around your house. My $700,000 house in a housing tract has a few yards of garden. Cheek by jowl with my neighbors. I wanted to move to Southern Tennessee, but my husband didn't want to leave. So love living vicariously through folks like you. I'm 66, so I guess I'm in the elderly camp. Good luck to you. Neither of my parents were builders or very handy or mechanically inclined really, but I always thought anything construction, mechanical, or electronics related was super interesting. In the late 80's when I was ten I could barely pay attention in school, but I could sit and watch shows like This Old House and Hometime (Hometime! Remember Dean Johnson and his many female "wife" cohosts? Lmao). Any time tradespeople were doing work at the house, I watched intently. Those experiences as a kid are how I taught myself how to build and fix things on my own. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I figured out that you are in Arkansas because you said that your house wasn’t too far from Walmart headquarters in Bentonville. Since you have a full-time job - are you only able to work on your house and property on weekends and holidays? My opinion is that you should simply ignore any trolls and negative comments. You can also use 4x6 lumber screwed into and jacks to level some of the problems areas in the crawl space. You can do what you can from the crawl space and then level the floor from inside with floor leveler, plywood, etc. That's what me and my then 17 year old son did to our 800 sq foot house in Maryland. And I passed inspection and sold the house for big money. p.s. you're giving the apartment ppl to money WE (you and us here on RU-vid) need to fix this house!

Much like you, I was raised in a blue collar home. My dad and grandpa had a home remodeling company for close to 30 years until they retired. That was my summer job from middle school through college. I chose to go the route of office work, but the skills and knowledge I gained working in construction have been invaluable. Four years ago I bought a house out of foreclosure and renovated it, only hiring out the HVAC work. Also like you, I almost bought some property to build a house on. Ended up not doing it because there was not any way to get internet (Starlink wasn't a thing yet), and the septic required for that area would have been like $30k to put in. At any rate, I'm loving your videos. Dont listen to the blowhard tradesmen who claim theyve been doing it for 562 years, and you would be fired from their jobsite because they carry four bundles of shingles up a ladder at once while floating a concrete pour and soldering a perfect copper joint. Do what works for you, and as long as it meets code, dont worry about the rest.

RU-vid channels like this are what the rocking chair chorus likes. We're old, worn out, but have been there and done that, the story of my life. I can relate to everything you've done in life. Motorcycles, campers, house remodeling, snowmobiles, I've had an active life. Now, I live vicariously through those who still have most of their life ahead of them.

Most of my youtube recommendations I get is loaded with grifters, hustlers, red pillers, doomers, fake "influencers", crypto bro's, etc and I even click "don't recommend this channel" and I still get the same crap! Somehow you popped up, no ads, you're obviously not a hustler just a regular guy making interesting content. So keep it up people like "real" people like yourself who aren't on the hustle!
Most important thing is the bigger your channel gets don't lose focus. Many RU-vidrs get a big head and seem like they forget where they came from. Keep working hard and you will continue to grow.

I think developing a brand shop/house combo on the new field and slowly Reno the little house ( but careful not to dump too much money into it) and rent it out. I started working at 7/11 when I was 14. I was able to save 5 thousand dollars by the time was 16, in 1972. It enabled me to buy my first car for cash and pay for insurance. The US consumer economy want people to buy new things they don't need with money they don't have to impress people they don't know. Try and stay out of debt. It doesn't matter how much you make compared to what you spend. Good luck with your channel.
the algorithm is definitely working. im interested to see how you will tackle the foundation. im in new york city and we live in brownstones. up in new england , however, they build their houses on stone foundations. they lift the house and remove the stones. not everyone does that as its very expensive.i build/renovate all over the midwest but these are all about or over 100 years old. the foundations are concrete block. never had a stone house before, knock on wood. good luck.

This is an awesome channel. I’m 35 now. I got a 800sqft house when I was your age and now I’m on my second home with a family of 6. It’s a fun ride. Me and my wife started out sleeping on a mattress in a tiny home. Slowly making improvements. Flipped that house for a crazy profit. Started raising a kid. Adopted two and have one on the way now. It goes by like a blur. The sweat, blood and tears make it all worth it.
You could also do some variety of videos, like how to build a bird house, bird feeder, squirrel feeder, feral cat house etc. gardening , butterfly garden, etc just some ideas for small project videos. Good luck with your channel. ... You'll keep people watching longer, if the videos are shorter. A lot of people have short attention spans lately. ❤ ( if you ever feel like creating some variety)
It's a bit hard to see, but is there any way you could make those two terraces near the storage place into a turn around driveway? That paddock on the otherside would be perfect for a shed ( motorway side) with a liveable area upstairs, just like your mate suggested, on the otherside of the paddock a nice big veggie garden and chicken coop!! . You have a great work ethic. Being frugal and living like no one else does now will pay off dividends in the long run. Since you need to rebuild the foundation and the house is on a hillside, you could have an exposed lower level. It could be extra living space, storage, storm shelter or garage.
