Welcome to It's OK to talk!
Here we talk about lots of interesting things.. (To me, anyway)
These things can include addiction to alcohol and binge drinking, marijuana/cannabis/weed addiction, addiction to sugar, processed food and binge eating, addiction to pornography and social media, dealing with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, men's mental health, personal accountability, the benefits of physical exercise and maintaining a healthy diet, challenging yourself daily both physically and mentally and much, much more.
In this particular video I talk about quitting alcohol for 365 days.

Hey man it’s been great watching your journey. You inspire me as I’m going through the exact same thing. I have to take issue with one thing though, at 9:10 you said you were “weak and weak minded”. That’s not fair to you most importantly, but also not fair to myself and others who struggle with sobriety. When people relapse it isn’t weakness. It’s a lack of recovery; mental and spiritual wellness. It takes a lot of work. I’ve relapsed after years and strength and weakness has very little to do with it please believe me. That mindset won’t serve you well brother.

Sorry brother. I would never want to make you feel like that. These were some dark times, for sure. The sun is beginning to rise though.

@@itsoktotalk Absolutely no apologies necessary. Just sharing with you some of my experience. Much love and support is all I feel for you brother, you got this. Coincidentally I have a few days sober myself. I’ll be watching your journey.

I did it was so fcked you can't even imagine how insane it was . Glad I got off that junk . Never stole anything for it . Unlike some people I know that were on it , some very dogy people on that shit let me tell you that much lol . One time I was so high on the shit , I felt like I could jump out of my own skin . The worst thing about is ya just can't fcking sleep . So imagine trying to drive after being awake for four days , so dangerous . I new one guy that was awake for three weeks . My flatmate had a 300 dollar a day addiction . She worked full time tho . If you ever saw that movie Spun , our house was like that . Was fcking crazy shit for two years two many . I was the first person to move out and say fck this shit I'm over it , then my good friend left also and everyone else rofl , she couldn't afford the rent and had to go to live back with her mum . I really fcked her over you could say . But I think I might of saved her life to a degree . She couldn't afford her flash V8 after that also , so she lost that rofl .

What a story, thanks for sharing man. I know a guy that I see at the gym, we've exchanged war stories, and he went down that path instead of the drinking. Interesting stuff, and so glad I never touched it.

Wowee, sounds like you really did need to get sober, and proud of you that you were able to! Relapse doesn't necesarily need to be part of the recovery journey, but certainly was/is for me. Realising that it is always a choice whether you drink or not, has been empowering I have to say. Thanks for sharing.

After a stint in a rehab I embarked on a degree in psychology. This did not not prevent a relapse. I have just completed a thesis on relapse but I still fear relapse can come back.

Wow, that's quite the journey. You would be of such great help in the field, seeing as you have the lived experience. I think you need that to be really effective. Someone stuggling needs to know you can relate, atleast on some level

Keep it up man , do ya best that's all ya can do is try . I agree so easy to order food online when wasted . The world isn't scary to me , but people are fcking weirdos . Imagine if ya didn't have to deal with people . As my father use to say you are a long time dead . The thing that scares me most of all is myself sorry to say .

Man, I have had a change of mindset since making this video. I welcome social interaction now. To an extent. Depends on my mood, but it feels good to have some confidence about me. Makes for a much better perspective on the world and the people in it.
