Alloy wheel refurbishment aborted!! 

Hats off to you doing alloy wheels. I do my own and it’s a real labour of love. I spend days not hours on the prep. I could never make a living out of it on that basis.

Know your worth. Best piece of business advice ever. Of course they can be done cheaper but your price is your price. If it were easy then everyone would do it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hello Grant,the alloy wheels were so pitted and bubbled, I would have had them sand blasted,best to have them done properly.

I left after 2 minutes because the noise they call music these days made my brain catch on fire.

In Birmingham driving in at 8 o’clock pick your car up at 5 o’clock full wheel and tyres off all stripped and powder coated £180 .. with warranty for that they have done 👍🏻

You made the right call Grant, the result would have looked great, but only for a limited time. I always admire your honesty, and dedication to either doing the job properly or not at all, if only all other trades people had your morals and ethics❤.

I found this interesting Grant as it shows just what you can come up against where you have to stop a job but it's not really anyone's fault, I don't suppose the owner knew how bad the wheels are but good on you for stopping as a lot of these so called wheel repairers would have done another bodge job just to earn a few quid🙄😲 Love your work ethic mate👌👍

Good evening Grant. 🙏. I was just watching your latest vlog. I was thinking. Do u think it would be a good idea as an investment to buy a sand blaster and a powder coating gun and oven and set it up in your lock up. Then you could do start to finish. Make a bit more cash.

Wheels as scabby as that need chemical dipping and blast cleaning. Mobile wheel refurb, can never be as good as a properly prepared and powder coating job, which in some cases doesn't cost much more than mobile, and will last far longer.

Good on you....walk away.....we all get them.....

I can’t help but agree with the comments grant in my opinion there’s only one correct way of wheel refurbishment and that is chemical dip and powder coating. The big boys have this down to a fine art and super quick turnaround. Around my way it’s around £240 for a set of four. Your work is first class and I fear in this industry you’re up against it.

Better off sticking to the bodywork.

Just not worth putting your reputation on the line. As you say they really need a strip back to alloy .

Dipped stripped powder coated £40 each for 18's all day long.

Grant, You get what you pay for usually. Buy cheap get cheap results. Not worth your time and effort at those cheap prices. Good to see you are getting some work pal.
