How do you link an external bank account to your Ally bank? First, open ally.com in your browser. Then click on the login button in the top right corner. Next, in the login form, enter your username and password, and click the login button. Then, on the dashboard, you can see all your Ally accounts.
In the top horizontal menu, find the “Transfer” button and click on it. Then, in the drop-down menu, select the “Bank Transfers” option. On the Transfers page, click on the “Link other accounts” button. Then, on the “Link an Account at Another Institution” dialog, select an account type. Next, you can enter your account nickname and routing number. Then, you must enter your account number. Then click “Continue.” Ally Bank wants you to verify the external account using two trial deposits. Click “Send Trial Deposits.” Within the next 3 days, you should see 2 very small deposits in your account at another bank. When you receive the deposits, log into your Ally bank account again. Then, in the top horizontal menu, select Accounts.”
Next, in the drop-down menu, select “Manage Linked Accounts.”
On the Manage Links Accounts page, you should see all your linked accounts.
Your new account should have the status “Pending Verification.”
Click on the Verify button.
Then, you must enter the amounts you received and click “Verify.”
Your external bank account is linked, and you can see it at the very bottom of the list.
