The problem spore had was it was very over hyped and it had draconian drm that limited the amount of times you could install the game while it being super buggy. If you have few expectations its fun

@@entertainmentanimations Well, I'm 22. Still pretty young, but not a kid. You shouldn't bash people for how they speak. If I were like you, maybe I'd correct the fact that you used "your" wrong. I don't need to worry about whether my speech is "cool." For a lot of people, swearing is just another part of informal conversation. People in the world are not going to censor themselves around you just because of your personal opinions. It's alright for you to choose not to swear, but you can only control yourself. Please learn from this and don't go around saying this kind of thing to other people - they'll certainly be a lot ruder to you. Also, while you haven't heard anyone trash talk Spore, that's not the same for everyone. In many of the contexts I've heard it, it's usually other gamers/content creators joking on it for being "pointless" and, as the other commenter said, "buggy" and its ridiculous DRM. (That means anti-piracy stuff, which didn't work a lot of the time and even locked people out of their own games they bought.) I'd recommend looking up the Monster Factory episodes on it, but the hosts do swear, so there's your warning in advance. Unrelated, I'm glad to see you're passionate about animation! I like drawing and animating too. I hope you get the chance to make something famous someday!

I believe it's a matter of percentage of diet. A "hypercarnivore" is an animal whose diet is >70% meat, like dogs/wolves and cats. I assume there's other classifications for herbivores or omnivores.

I always wanted to pull that sort of thing off, but never really went into it until recently, just got heavily back into Spore and started playing again this week, hence me searching things related to allying the Grox, and that's likely why this ended up in my reccomended list, but.. Now that I know it's pheasible to try a pacifist run.. I just might haveta try for that when I finish allying the Grox in my own run, and look into the video you mentioned.. Thank you!!! :D

I think it’s much more likely to crash when you press esc to hurry it along, but that’s from a pretty small sample size.

@@thebigyes8482 Yes, but regardless of pressing esc or waiting the cutscene out - if the living packmates are still in combat while you're dead, the game will crash.

I think that that run would take too long and will be too repetitive. You'll probably just use the fanatic ability, save and exit, repair, fly over to next system, repeat.

Thanks for the suggestion as well! :D Sorry I missed your original comment. Perhaps one day I could stream a casual play through destroying the Grox or something, but for a speedrun it would take too long. The Grox have 2400 star systems to conquer, that would take me weeks ;)

let's say one cycle takes, say, 10 seconds (probably way too short but it'll add up), then taking over 2400 star systems would take at least 24000 seconds or almost 7 hours (and that's assuming no breaks, 100% optimisation and that all grox star systems have only one grox colony, which is also not true), so it'd take way too long in any case

...To be fair, there ARE some absurdly long speedruns, but... yeah, no.

@@toimine8930 I might be wrong but i think you can instantly destroy a grox planet by getting its Tscore to the center even if it's not stable? i thought i remembered doing that exploit to destroy a ton of grox... but I might be wrong

Same. I've only played the space stage once and I didnt even get anywhere near the centre of the galaxy before I lost interest.

That is a good point and optimization! I may have been using the Fanatical Frenzy specifically on systems on the edge of Grox territory so I could be out of their firing range. But I could probably work that in if I do something like this again in the future!

That's pretty interesting! It's possible to use the 'setconsequencetrait' cheat to give any consequence traits we want for any creature too. We don't allow the consequences for Stage specific speedruns because that would normally be carried over from other levels. For Individual level speedruns, everything should just be from the one Stage we are running.

Locally saved creations are in the "MySporeCreations" folder from Documents. And the saves are found under the Roaming folder in Windows. These can be transferred on to a new computer to keep playing with them so you don't have to keep the old computer alive :)
