I adore this woman! She had the guts to follow her dreams at a time when women artists weren't even admitted to a lot of the best art schools. She never gave up perfecting her technique her entire life, she had the key quality of a true genius- that you are never done learning.

I think it is a stupid thing to say that a painting was the highest price ever paid for a female artist. Art is art. It shouldn’t be because an artist is male or female. The art is either good or it isn’t. I just found that weird
