It's almost impossible to NOT do at least ok with Sparta. They don't die and they don't break. This guy hit all the flanks and killed it in this battle. Well done.

spartan hoplites last ridiculously long when surrounded considering units of their tier like thorax swords almost instantly waver

@@bloo6639 I think thorax swords are overrated. The other day I held off Macedon with Kush using primarily Kushite slave infantry with a gold chevron (total cost like 460 or so per unit) and I actually dominated Macedons 6 units of thorax. Maybe I just outfoxed him this battle, but hey, I saw what I saw.

@@bloo6639 agreed. I think there are many other cheaper units with a few chevrons that stand up better than thorax.

First time I have seen this one -- I have seen several where the defenders are one less army than the attackers. This one will qualify for that as well since there were approximately 15 units around the town center which didn't see action. The wall needed to be breached to get the cav inside, may have helped but with that many units left on the defense, may not have made a difference.

I think the picked hoplites have expert charge defence, and when the massasyli general charged the hoplites, their charge bonus was reflected on to the armoured numidian riders thats why they lost 20 men when they charged

I don't think the defenders expected to crush at the walls. Guessing that's why they had such a solid force at the keep. Usually at this settlement there's an attacker at the back and the walls fall pretty quickly. Losing the Onager made huge difference, all went south from there.

Ha the fact that vanguard units can start so close in front of the enemy is pretty dumb. But whatever fun match.

Selucied got tunnel vision there i think and he blobbed 3-4 units of thorax sowrds wich was a shame as could have flanked with those also all the attackers were to stingy with thier archers espiceley arveni amd arveni could put 1 oath units gurding the back of the units that was attacking the spartan genral

@@nadershah5196 it only takes a few minutes to show army comps, + he would just make an abrupt cut if he didnt do them so army comps makes the video more fluid
