That dragonet is a female based on the lack of a dorsal spine extension, or at least from what I could see from the limited side-view fin-flagging motion while moving along the rockwork. She is probably ready to explode with eggs. A male would help with your 'dirt shrimp' gripe and you'd get some awesome spawning rises in the meantime. Mini-stomatopod-looking-things I am not sure on from that description, but they are clearly a good nonmanaged food source!

Amazing video as usual Than simply gorgeous. Referencing your patient part, I guess most people have forgotten that this is a patience driven hobby. It seems like in the last couple years people have completely forgotten that, at least the new people and it’s all about the short cuts and bad implementation which equals a shitty tank. Hell it takes a good couple years just to get your tank settled in enough that stuff can grow and not have any problems on a consistent level. And trust me I’m one of the most impatient bastards there is but I understand you cannot rush life and the ecosystem has to do its thing to balance out naturally or else you’re always going to be fighting against nature. Keep up the amazing cinematography can’t wait for the next video thanks again Than

The tank looks absolutely awesome especially seeing when you had that bad algae outbreak and all the rocks were covered. The question is what are the nutrient levels on this tank or is this one tied to all other systems?? Great content and always love to see the updates from TG. Thank you 🙏

seems like the biggest thing stunting their growth is the high magnesium and probably not the aminos

Your not worried about all the liverocks biofiltration being covered in corraline thus restricting water movement through the rock? Seems like something to be concerned about considering it's a barebottom

We sometimes do that just to give the herbivores a head start to control it. Herbivores like the fresh growth not so much the long stringy stuff.

I have a question. You mentioned the amino dosing. How often are you dosing. I know it's a subjective answer but I just want a factual baseline vs. a theory. I am happy with my tank and I don't chase numbers. But I am a student of the hobby. And I want to understand the how's and why's cause and effect.
@tidalgardens
@tidalgardens 2 года назад
We are dosing 5 days a week.

What’s the PH of the tank? What else do you do for filtration. Do you run UV 24/7 on that system.
@tidalgardens
@tidalgardens 2 года назад
We have lots of gas exchange in the building so it's rock solid 8.3. Also yes, we are running a UV. It's probably a little undersized for the 2500 gallons but its effect is noticeable.
