I saw the buck around 75 meters away rubbing and scraping. After 20 minutes or so, he came closer. He walked into the thicked infront of me, and only gave me a short window of opportunity. Hmm, better luck next time!

that was good they rub their horns just like our whitetail deer I should have known that but never really thought about it so i suppose they shed in late winter also thanks peter i seem to learn s little something watching your videos

Yes sir! The roe deer are different than other deer species. They start to find and protect territory from april. They rub and scrape and laying out scent. When a bigger one comes in, the smaller get chased away. They mate in August and the bucks already start to shed from late October. Big bucks shed first, but small ones sometimes have the antler in December too.

Nice vidéo, what a suspense ! I enjoy your videos, even though l 'm not a hunter . Traditional archery makes me feel happy, it's just a way of life . I have 2 questions : What is the best place for the silencers on the string ? Why do prefer a palet to a glove ? Thank you Peter Cheers from France 🇨🇵

Thank you! Regarding placement of the silencers depends on bow type. I found something around 10 inches from the endd to be a good place. On longbows maybe 8 and recurves more like 12. You need to find the “sweet” spot. I’m using a tab for better accuracy. However I can use a glove sometimes

This time of year the bucks have plenty to do. I imagine it’s like pig hunting. Folks say that pigs never stands still for a shot

Hi, do you use lighted nocks for hunting? If so, do you use them in the rain? Many people said that lighted nocks were unreliable, they said lighted nocks sometimes lighted up and sometimes didn't, and they also said lighted nocks introduced shooting errors. Do you think they work reliably?
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 3 месяца назад
I have used them, yes. But I’ve stopped, because of some of the reasons you mention. Instead I use bright colored feathers so I still can see the arrow in flight
