Same thing on my 2015 Mazda5. And the replacement mirror was $100 (2 years ago) and it has the blinking light on the top outside. Coupler with 3 wires connects only 1 way. That was stubborn but it did snap together and worked. I also had to replace the side window tracks due to a car burning down to the ground next to the Mazda5, not my car then. I thought I had ordered the wrong track for 1 of the windows. (With motor included) so I was going to return it,,,,, when I went to return it was double the price so I kept it, IT Worked. Remote unlocked and locked the doors. Very happy ending. I mentioned the doubling of price to the Mazda dealer parts guy and he said, "Tell me about it., I see that a lot." (2 years ago) We have a Volunteer Fire response and the 2 guys at 3 in the morning just watched the other car burn down, not even trying to put out the burning car. It had a big boomer stereo installed by some amateur and it shorted out . I then had (after I bought the van for $1500) my front / back dash camera installed by a guy that knew what he was doing. (mostly to get wiring right) Only thing left is the damaged paint on side. I plan on patch painting it. Maybe. I am 67 yrs on.

Always playing the victim. The body shop was quoting a Aftermarket mirror? Was the Amazon mirror not Aftermarket? Granted the quote over 1000 dollars was outrageous but I can only assume that was OEM parts. Does the mirror cover need to be painted to match the body of the car?
